Sacred Heart University

The William H. Pitt Health and Recreation Center is a 2,062-seat multipurpose arena in Fairfield, Connecticut on the campus of Sacred Heart University. It was opened in August 1997 and is home to Sacred Heart University men's and women's basketball, men's and women's volleyball, men's wrestling and fencing. It hosted the finals of the 2008 Northeast Conference men's basketball tournament. Constructing the facility cost $13.8 million. The William H. Pitt Health and Recreation Center has three levels and houses four basketball courts, a fitness center, an aerobics and fencing room, and a sports medicine and rehabilitation center. Outdoors near the Pitt Center, there is an artificial turf athletic field with an eight-lane outdoor running track, six artificial surface tennis courts, and several grass fields and trails around campus.In 2007, the Pitt Center underwent major renovations. On the lower level, a wrestling room, a weight room, more locker room space, and new floors were added. The Pitt Center also was re-painted.

Campus Field is a 3,334-seat multi-purpose stadium in Fairfield, Connecticut. It is home to the Sacred Heart University Pioneers football team and the Pioneers Men's soccer team. The facility opened in 1993. The field and track located at Campus Field were modernized and renovated in the summer of 2008.

The Discovery Science Center and Planetarium is a hands-on science center in Bridgeport, Connecticut, that serves as both a tourist destination and an educational resource for area schools. The Discovery Science Center provides dynamic, hands-on STEM experiences designed to resonate with the innate curiosity, learning desire, and spirit of exploration of visitors, encouraging young learners to ask questions, solve problems, and engineer solutions today so they are better prepared to embrace the challenges of tomorrow. Its mission is to inspire wonder and ignite creativity through the exploration of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) through interactive experiences, unique exhibits, and dynamic STEM learning programs. The science center seeks to enhance public understanding of STEM through a variety of resources including education programs, planetarium presentations, the Challenger Learning Center, Science on a Sphere and a variety of permanent and traveling exhibits.

The Martire Family Arena is a 3,600-seat ice hockey arena in Fairfield, Connecticut. It is home to the Sacred Heart Pioneers men's and women's ice hockey teams. The arena opened in January 2023.

Plattsville is a census-designated place (CDP) in the towns of Easton and Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States. It is primarily in the town of Easton, with a portion extending south across the Mill River into Fairfield. The Merritt Parkway forms the southeast border of the CDP, and Connecticut Route 59 (Sport Hill Road in Easton and Easton Turnpike in Fairfield) runs north–south through it. Plattsville was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.

It was the first enclosed shopping mall in Connecticut upon opening in 1964. The mall was developed by the Frogue Corporation, and was the first U.S. acquisition by Australian mall operator Westfield Group in 1977. Ownership and management were transferred to the Westfield Corporation in 2014, and to Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield in 2018. It has 1,130,690 square feet (105,045 m2) of gross leasable area. In early 2023, it was sold to Namdar Realty Group. The mall features the traditional retailers Macy's, JCPenney, and Target.

Trumbull is a town located in Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States. The town is part of the Greater Bridgeport Planning Region, and borders on the cities of Bridgeport and Shelton, as well as the towns of Stratford, Fairfield, Easton and Monroe. The population was 36,827 during the 2020 census. Trumbull was the home of the Golden Hill Paugussett Indian Nation for thousands of years before the English settlement was made in 1639. The town was named after Jonathan Trumbull (1710–1785), a merchant, patriot and statesman, at its incorporation in 1797. Aviation pioneer Igor Sikorsky lived in Trumbull during his active years when he designed, built, and flew fixed-wing aircraft and put the helicopter into mass production for the first time.

There are 82 parishes in the diocese. Its cathedral is St. Augustine Cathedral in Bridgeport. The Diocese of Bridgeport is a suffragan diocese within the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Hartford. As of September 19, 2013, the diocese is led by Bishop Frank Joseph Caggiano. He succeeds William E. Lori, appointed March 19, 2001, who served until 2012, when he was installed as Archbishop of Baltimore. The diocese was led by Msgr. Jerald A. Doyle as Diocesan Administrator until Caggiano, named by Pope Francis on July 31, 2013, was installed as bishop on September 19, 2013.
