Shenfield Hall

Shenfield is a commuter suburb of Brentwood, in the borough of Brentwood, Essex, England. In 2020, the suburb was estimated to have a population of 5,396.

Shenfield railway station is on the Great Eastern Main Line in the East of England, serving the town of Shenfield, Essex. As well as being a key interchange for medium- and long-distance services on the main line, it is also the western terminus of a branch line to Southend Victoria and one of the two eastern termini of the Elizabeth line. It is 20 miles 16 chains (32.51 km) down the line from Liverpool Street and is situated between Brentwood and either Ingatestone on the main line or Billericay on the branch line. Its three-letter station code is SNF. The station was opened in 1843 and has since expanded from its original three platforms to the current six. It sees trains operated by Greater Anglia to main line destinations including Chelmsford, Witham and Ipswich, as well as branch line stations such as Southminster, Braintree, Harwich Town, Colchester Town and Clacton-on-Sea.

Old County Ground is a cricket ground in Brentwood, Essex. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1876, when Essex played Suffolk in a non first-class match.Essex played their first first-class match there against Dublin University in 1922. In 1934, Essex returned to the ground where they played Kent in the first County Championship match held at the ground. Essex played 56 further first-class matches there between 1934 and 1969, playing their final first-class match there against Worcestershire.In addition, the ground has also hosted 2 List-A matches, the first of which came in the 1965 Gillette Cup and saw Essex play Derbyshire. The second and final List-A match held there saw Essex play Kent in the 1967 Gillette Cup.In local domestic cricket, the ground is the home venue of Brentwood Cricket Club who play in the Essex Premier League.

Shenfield High School is a coeducational 11-18 secondary school located in Shenfield, Essex, England. It has over 1200 students on roll, including 300 in the sixth form. It opened in 1962, celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2012. It converted to academy status in February 2012.To coincide with the fiftieth anniversary the school adopted a new badge and uniform. The new badge incorporates golden spurs tilted into the shape. As part of its annual Awards Ceremony, the school now bestows the Golden Spurs Award on a student who has given outstanding community service.

It was a mixed school of non-denominational religion. The school logo was traditionally that of a Griffin. However, when the school achieved specialist college status its motif was modernised; it became a two panelled shield with a griffin above a diagram of an atom.

It was the first Church of England secondary school to be established as part of the free schools programme. The school is sponsored by Russell Education Trust. The head teacher of Becket Keys is Andrew Scott-Evans. He was also the original proposer for the school. The school was officially dedicated by Bishop John Wraw on 5 October 2012.
