Sigiburg

The Syberg is a hill in the Ruhr in the southern part of Dortmund, 240 m above sea level (NN), which is part of the Ardey Hills. The Syberg is home to the Sigiburg, the Vincke Tower, a monument to Emperor William I and other points of interest. The family name of the House of Syberg is derived from the Syberg.

St. Peter (also St. Peter zu Syburg) is a Romanesque church in Syburg, now a suburb of Dortmund, Germany. It is the active Protestant parish church of Syburg, officially named "Ev. Kirche St. Peter zu Dortmund-Syburg". It serves as a concert venue for the bimonthly Syburger Sonntagsmusiken (Syburg Sunday Music).

Syburg is a borough (Stadtbezirk) of the city of Dortmund in the Ruhr district of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Since 1929, it has been a borough of Dortmund, located in the city's south. It is part of the Hörde district.

The Lenne is a tributary of the river Ruhr in the Sauerland hills, western Germany. It has caused flooding in recent years.Having its source on top of the Kahler Asten near Winterberg in an intermittent spring at an elevation of 2,687 ft (819 m), the Lenne ends after a course of 129 km flowing into the Ruhr river near the city of Hagen. With an average discharge of 25 m³/s near its mouth, it is the main tributary of the Ruhr.

The Klusenberg is, at 254.33 m above NHN, the highest elevation on the territory of the city of Dortmund. The Klusenberg part of the Ardey Hills lies west of the Hohensyburg. To the south its slopes fall away into the Hengsteysee lake. The Klusenberg is wooded with just a few residential houses.

Husen Castle (Burg Husen) is a medieval tower house of a castle in the Dortmund borough of Syburg in North Rhine-Westphalia. The origins of the site go back to the 13th century. The present shape of the tower house dates to the 17th century. It is included in the monument inden of the city of Dortmund as a listed building.The estate with its pastures and stands of trees that belongs to Syburg is about 7,000 m² in area and lies in the triangle formed by the cities of Dortmund, Schwerte and Hagen. The Verband Christlicher Pfadfinderinnen und Pfadfinder (VCP) of Westphalia Land took over the castle in 1984 and uses it as a youth holiday home with and youth campsite.

The Hengsteysee (Lake Hengstey) is a reservoir on the Ruhr river between the cities of Hagen, Dortmund and Herdecke, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It was built in 1929 and is one of five reservoirs on the Ruhr. The reservoir is about 4.2 km (2.6 mi) long and has an average width of 296 meters (971 ft). It begins near the point where the Lenne flows into the Ruhr, and ends with the weir and hydroelectric plant of Hengsteysee. The Klusenberg, a hill that is part of the Ardey range, is located just north of the Hengsteysee. There is also a pumped-storage plant on this reservoir (called the Koepchenwerk after Arthur Koepchen), along with a 4.5 MWh grid services battery repurposed from electric cars.Hengsteysee fulfills the following four functions: functions as the lower reservoir of the Koepchenwerk pumped-storage plant performs biological purification of water from the Lenne deposit of sediment from the Lenne venue for water sports and tourism

The Mahnmal Bittermark is a memorial place in Bittermark, a borough in the city of Dortmund, Germany.The place commemorates about 300 people killed by the Gestapo in Bittermark city forest and in the Rombergpark between March 7 and April 12, 1945. The people killed were forced laborers from France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Yugoslavia, Poland and the Soviet Union, members of the German resistance, as well as ordinary people whose careless utterance was judged to be "the dissemination of the opinion about the futility of the war and the insult of Hitler". The bodies were exhumed on April 19–21, 1945, six days after the US army had taken Dortmund. In 1953 the city of Dortmund approved plans of constructing a memorial place for the victims. Works began in 1955 and were finished in 1960.

Wichlinghofen is a Stadtteil (Quarter) in the south of the city of Dortmund, in Germany. With its 3,500 inhabitants it is like a separate village in the city.

The University of Hagen (German: FernUniversität in Hagen, informally often referred to as FU Hagen) is a public research university that is primarily focused on distance teaching. While its main campus is located in Hagen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, the university maintains more than 50 study and research centers in Germany and throughout Europe. According to the Federal Statistical Office of Germany, it is Germany's second-largest university. The university was founded in 1974 as a public research university by the state Nordrhein-Westfalen and began its research and teaching activities in 1975. It was founded following the idea of UK's Open University to provide higher and continuing education opportunities through a distance education system in Germany. The university awards the same qualifications as other German on-campus universities and maintains the same requirements. Initially, the university had only three faculties with 1,304 full and part-time students, but today the university has developed into Germany's leading institution for distance education and is the only full university in that field with a student body of 83,536 students in the summer term of 2013 and 86,889 students in the winter term 2013/14. All the degrees awarded by the University of Hagen are equivalent to those awarded by traditional German universities. The University of Hagen awards degrees and does research in the fields of business administration and economics, mathematics, computer science, law, psychology, cultural studies and political science. The university has produced many notable alumni in the fields of law, economics, business and politics, among them two Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize winners, 1 Gossen Prize laureate, at least 25 university professors, numerous members of the German parliament, and the former Foreign Minister and Vice Chancellor of Germany, Guido Westerwelle. The University of Hagen is a member of the European University Association (EUA), European Association of Distance Teaching Universities (EADTU) and it is accredited by ACQUIN, FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation) as well as AQAS (Agentur für Qualitätssicherung durch Akkreditierung von Studiengängen).

St. Patrokli is a Catholic church ad parish Kirchhörde, a Stadtteil of Dortmund, North Rhine-Westphalia. The parish also has churches in St. Clemens in Hombruch, St. Franziskus Xaverius in Barop, Maria Königin in Eichlinghofen and Heilige Familie in Brünninghausen.

Ischelandstadion is a multi-use stadium in Hagen, Germany . It is used as the stadium of SSV Hagen matches. The capacity of the stadium is 16,500 spectators.
