House at 474 Ocean Avenue, also known as Luning House, is a historic home located at Lynbrook in Nassau County, New York. It was built about 1838 and is a two-story, frame Greek Revival style dwelling. It consists of a large three-bay center section with a two-story, two-bay wing. A single height porch runs the length of the house and has square support posts with distinctive scroll brackets. Also on the property is a contributing well house.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

House at 251 Rocklyn Avenue is a historic home located at Lynbrook in Nassau County, New York. It is an L-shaped dwelling with 2-story central section, a 2-story addition to the east, and 1+1⁄2-story addition to the west with a 1-story rear addition and cross gable roof. The oldest section, the west section, was built about 1793. A single-story, partially enclosed porch extends across the center section.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

House at 73 Grove Street is a historic home located at Lynbrook in Nassau County, New York. It was built about 1840 and is a 2+1⁄2-story, clapboard-sided dwelling with a side-gabled roof. It was originally one room deep and two rooms wide, but expanded to two rooms deep in the 1930s. It has a two-story rear extension. It features a three-bay, single-story Colonial Revival style porch with four square support posts.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

On February 17, 1950, two Long Island Rail Road trains collided on the Montauk Branch just west of Rockville Centre station in Rockville Centre, New York, killing 32 and injuring several dozen more. At the time, it was the deadliest collision in the railroad's history until the Kew Gardens train crash later that year. The crash was a head-on collision caused by two trains running along the same gauntlet track due to construction.

Haviland-Davison Grist Mill is a historic grist mill located at East Rockaway in Nassau County, New York. It was restored and relocated to its present site in Memorial Park in 1963. It was built about 1689 and is a 2+1⁄2-story, "T" shaped, timber-frame building. The original section has one large addition and two smaller wings attached to each side.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.The mill is now known as the East Rockaway Grist Mill Museum and features artifacts and displays of local history.

East Rockaway High School serves graduates from local Centre Ave. and Rhame Ave. Elementary Schools, as well as the private St. Raymond Elementary School. St. Agnes Cathedral School, otherwise known as The St. Agnes School, is a K-8 private co-educational Catholic country day school in Rockville Centre, New York, United States. It was founded in 1917 as St. Agnes Elementary School by Monsignor Peter Quealy. A major portion of the student body reside in Rockville Centre, and neighboring towns. It is joined by a collection of other schools as part of the Diocese of Rockville Centre school system. St. Agnes Cathedral School is the largest elementary school in the Diocese of Rockville Centre. The school resides on campus along with St. Agnes Cathedral, the base of the Diocese of Rockville Centre.

Lynbrook is a Long Island Rail Road commuter train station in Lynbrook, New York. The station is located at the intersection of Sunrise Highway and Peninsula Boulevard and is located on the railroad's Montauk Branch line, though it is served by Long Beach Branch trains and select weekday Babylon Branch trains. The station is elevated and is wheelchair accessible through elevator access. Long Beach Branch and Babylon Branch trains stop there hourly (every 30 minutes when combined) on an alternating basis during off-peak hours. Peak service is about every 20 minutes or less. Late night service is every two hours.
