The Saint Agnes School

St. Agnes Cathedral is a Roman Catholic Cathedral in Rockville Centre, New York, on Long Island. It is the seat of the Diocese of Rockville Centre. The Most Reverend John Oliver Barres is the ordinary bishop of the Diocese and pastor of the Cathedral parish. The Saint Agnes Cathedral School is on campus with the Cathedral.

Rockville Centre is a station along the Babylon Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. It is officially at North Village Avenue and Front Street north of Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre, New York, but the station property spreads west to North Center Avenue and east to North Park Avenue. Parking is available throughout the Village of Rockville Centre, near the station for those with residential and non-residential permits. The station is east of the former Rockville Centre Bus Depot. The station is 21.1 miles (34.0 km) from Penn Station.

US Post Office-Rockville Centre is a historic post office building located at Rockville Centre in the town of Hempstead, Nassau County, New York, United States. It was built in 1937 and designed by consulting architect William Dewey Foster (1890-1958) for the Office of the Supervising Architect. It is a one-story building clad with brick and trimmed in limestone in the Colonial Revival style. It features an Art Deco style grill above the main entrance doors. The lobby features four irregularly shaped murals by Victor White painted in 1939 of various local historic scenes."It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

On February 17, 1950, two Long Island Rail Road trains collided on the Montauk Branch just west of Rockville Centre station in Rockville Centre, New York, killing 32 and injuring several dozen more. At the time, it was the deadliest collision in the railroad's history until the Kew Gardens train crash later that year. The crash was a head-on collision caused by two trains running along the same gauntlet track due to construction.

Founded in 1957, this diocese was created from territory that once belonged to the Diocese of Brooklyn. As of 2005, it the sixth-largest Catholic diocese in the United States, currently serving approximately 1.5 million people in 134 parishes. The diocese is named for the village where its cathedral, St. Agnes Cathedral, is located, Rockville Centre in Nassau County. The fifth and current bishop is John Barres. The Diocese of Rockville Centre is a suffragan diocese in the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of New York.

Rockville Centre, commonly abbreviated as RVC, is an incorporated village located in the Town of Hempstead in Nassau County, on the South Shore of Long Island, in New York, United States. The population was 24,023 at the 2010 census.

House at 474 Ocean Avenue, also known as Luning House, is a historic home located at Lynbrook in Nassau County, New York. It was built about 1838 and is a two-story, frame Greek Revival style dwelling. It consists of a large three-bay center section with a two-story, two-bay wing. A single height porch runs the length of the house and has square support posts with distinctive scroll brackets. Also on the property is a contributing well house.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

Rockville Cemetery and Bristol and Mexico Monument is a historic cemetery located at Lynbrook in Nassau County, New York. The cemetery started as a small local burial ground in 1799. It subsequently came to be the final resting place of many early Near Rockaway settlers. The cemetery features a monument to two nearby shipwrecks, the Bristol and the Mexico, in the winter of 1836–1837. The Bristol and Mexico Monument marks the mass grave of the 139 passengers, mostly Irish immigrants fleeing famine. The shipwrecks resulted in changes to New York Harbor approach practices.In 1953, a 20-year-old Ruth Bader wrote an article in New York Folklore Quarterly about the memorial. She described the poor condition of the memorial at the time, and the very negative opinion of the memorial from Nathaniel Prime, author of History of Long Island, which was published five years after the memorial was completed. She also included a brief history of the ships’ voyages from Liverpool in October 1836, and their losses off of Long Island in late November 1836 and early January 1837. The monument was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

Lakeview is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the Town of Hempstead in Nassau County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. The population was 6,077 at the 2020 census.

Malverne High School (also known as Malverne Senior High School) is a public high school in Malverne, in Nassau County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. It is the Malverne Union Free School District's sole high school.

East Rockaway Junior-Senior High School (often abbreviated ERHS) is a co-educational six-year secondary school in East Rockaway, New York, and the sole high school in Nassau County, New York, School District 41 (East Rockaway School District), the smallest school district in Nassau County. It is currently undergoing renovations to expand the school into a middle school and high school, becoming a seven-year secondary school. East Rockaway High School serves graduates from local Centre Ave. and Rhame Ave. Elementary Schools, as well as the private St. Raymond Elementary School. As of the 2014-15 school year, the school had an enrollment of 554 students and 55.3 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.0:1. There were 100 students (18.1% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 34 (6.1% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Mount Sinai South Nassau is a hospital located in Oceanside, NY. The facility was opened in 1928 and has undergone rapid expansion since. It is the Long Island flagship hospital for the Mount Sinai Health System. Mount Sinai South Nassau, formerly South Nassau Communities Hospital, has a total of 455 beds. It has expanded numerous times over the years and is now one of the main hospitals on the South Shore of Long Island. In 2019 the hospital joined the Mount Sinai Health System and rebranded as Mount Sinai South Nassau.
