Lynbrook is a village in the Town of Hempstead in Nassau County, on the South Shore of Long Island, in New York, United States. The population was 19,427 at the 2010 census.

Lynbrook Senior High School (commonly known as Lynbrook High School) is the four-year public high school located in the village of Lynbrook, New York in Nassau County on Long Island. The school district serves the Village of Lynbrook, as well as parts of neighboring Hewlett, Hewlett Harbor, East Rockaway, as well as small portions of Malverne and Valley Stream.As of the 2014-15 school year, the school had an enrollment of 906 students and 73.9 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.3:1. There were 79 students (8.7% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 15 (1.7% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.Lynbrook High School was recognized by the United States Department of Education in the 1990-1991 school year as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.Lynbrook Senior High School offers a wide range of academics, and class sizes are typically small, with an average of 250 to 300 students per grade.The school produces many All-County athletes and musicians, has won many county and state team sport championships, and has an award-winning high school newspaper, Horizon.

House at 251 Rocklyn Avenue is a historic home located at Lynbrook in Nassau County, New York. It is an L-shaped dwelling with 2-story central section, a 2-story addition to the east, and 1+1⁄2-story addition to the west with a 1-story rear addition and cross gable roof. The oldest section, the west section, was built about 1793. A single-story, partially enclosed porch extends across the center section.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

North Lynbrook is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the Town of Hempstead in Nassau County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. The population was 793 at the 2010 census.

House at 73 Grove Street is a historic home located at Lynbrook in Nassau County, New York. It was built about 1840 and is a 2+1⁄2-story, clapboard-sided dwelling with a side-gabled roof. It was originally one room deep and two rooms wide, but expanded to two rooms deep in the 1930s. It has a two-story rear extension. It features a three-bay, single-story Colonial Revival style porch with four square support posts.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

Westwood is a station on the Long Island Rail Road's West Hempstead Branch serving the villages of Malverne and Lynbrook, New York. The station platform is located on Foster Avenue in Malverne, with parking facilities on both the Malverne (Foster Avenue at Motley Street) and Lynbrook (Whitehall Street at Whittier Street) sides of the tracks. It has no station building other than a pair of open shelters, the larger one on the Malverne side of the tracks. It also features a gated at-grade pedestrian crossing, one of only a few stations on the Long Island Rail Road to feature such crossings. No buses connect to Westwood station, however local suburban taxi cabs do stop there. A basketball court can be found on the Malverne side of the station between the platform and parking lot.

Centre Avenue is one of two railroad stations of the Long Island Rail Road in East Rockaway, New York. The station is officially located at Forest Avenue between Rocklyn and Centre Avenues, one block east of Atlantic Avenue, 17.8 miles (28.6 km) from Penn Station. The station can also be accessed from the intersection of Forest and Centre avenues.

Rockville Cemetery and Bristol and Mexico Monument is a historic cemetery located at Lynbrook in Nassau County, New York. The cemetery started as a small local burial ground in 1799. It subsequently came to be the final resting place of many early Near Rockaway settlers. The cemetery features a monument to two nearby shipwrecks, the Bristol and the Mexico, in the winter of 1836–1837. The Bristol and Mexico Monument marks the mass grave of the 139 passengers, mostly Irish immigrants fleeing famine. The shipwrecks resulted in changes to New York Harbor approach practices.In 1953, a 20-year-old Ruth Bader wrote an article in New York Folklore Quarterly about the memorial. She described the poor condition of the memorial at the time, and the very negative opinion of the memorial from Nathaniel Prime, author of History of Long Island, which was published five years after the memorial was completed. She also included a brief history of the ships’ voyages from Liverpool in October 1836, and their losses off of Long Island in late November 1836 and early January 1837. The monument was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

East Rockaway is a village in Nassau County, on the South Shore of Long Island, in New York, United States. The population was 9,818 at the 2010 census.The Incorporated Village of East Rockaway is at the edge of Rockaway Peninsula Proper in the town of Hempstead, adjacent to Hewlett Harbor, Hewlett, Rockville Centre, Lynbrook, and Oceanside. It is the final neighborhood before the beginning of Five Towns, although some have come to include wealthier sections of East Rockaway as a part of Five Towns. East Rockaway is an inner suburb, only 24 km (15 mi) from downtown Manhattan. The primary ethnicities are Italian and Irish. The Waverly Park neighborhood, near the Hewlett-East Rockaway Jewish Center [1] and along the border with Hewlett, has a sizable Jewish community.

Haviland-Davison Grist Mill is a historic grist mill located at East Rockaway in Nassau County, New York. It was restored and relocated to its present site in Memorial Park in 1963. It was built about 1689 and is a 2+1⁄2-story, "T" shaped, timber-frame building. The original section has one large addition and two smaller wings attached to each side.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.The mill is now known as the East Rockaway Grist Mill Museum and features artifacts and displays of local history.

Denton Homestead is a historic home located at East Rockaway in Nassau County, New York. It was built as a tavern about 1795, and is a 1+1⁄2-story, five bay, center hall plan, vernacular Colonial style frame dwelling. The Denton family bought it in 1808 and converted to a residential farmhouse. It has a side gable roof and a hipped roof addition added after the house was moved to its present location in 1924. The front facade features a full width, shed roofed front porch. The interior features some Colonial Revival style design elements. Also on the property is a contributing carriage house (c. 1900). The house is a rare surviving former tavern and farmhouse from the village's early period.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

House at 474 Ocean Avenue, also known as Luning House, is a historic home located at Lynbrook in Nassau County, New York. It was built about 1838 and is a two-story, frame Greek Revival style dwelling. It consists of a large three-bay center section with a two-story, two-bay wing. A single height porch runs the length of the house and has square support posts with distinctive scroll brackets. Also on the property is a contributing well house.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.
