Beddington Lane tram stop

Beddington Lane railway station was a single-platform station on the West Croydon to Wimbledon Line. Situated in a semi-rural location, the nearest major settlements were Beddington and Mitcham.

Mitcham Common is 182 hectares (460 acres) of common land situated in south London. It is predominantly in the London borough of Merton, with parts straddling the borders of Croydon and Sutton. It is designated a Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation.

Therapia Lane depot is a tram depot, situated in the London Borough of Sutton between Therapia Lane and Beddington Lane. Built on the site of former railway sidings, all tram maintenance, repairs and control functions are based in a purpose-built building, erected in 1998. The depot has sufficient stabling for up to 24 tram sets, and a double-track workshop with all required facilities to perform almost all maintenance. Additionally, system control room is located within the building, as well as a base for the British Transport Police to monitor the network.

Beddington Farmlands is an area adjacent to Beddington in Greater London, England, known for many years as a birdwatching site. It is being developed as a nature reserve.

The Archbishop Lanfranc Academy is a coeducational secondary school located in the Thornton Heath area of Croydon, South London, named after Lanfranc, Archbishop of Canterbury from 1070 to 1089.

Therapia Lane tram stop is a stop on the Tramlink service in Croydon, close to the Purley Way commercial area. The stop is in the London Borough of Sutton close to the boundary with Croydon. It is one of two Tramlink stops within Sutton borough, the other being Beddington Lane. Just to the west of the stop is Therapia Lane Depot Staff Halt, a two platform stop used only by staff getting to or from Therapia Lane depot, and not permitted for public use. However, since 21 March 2020, the stop has been out of use due to its narrow, short platforms preventing social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic. The staff halt's future is uncertain given it is less than 80m from the public stop.

Mitcham is an area within the London Borough of Merton in South London, England. It is centred 7.2 miles (11.6 km) southwest of Charing Cross. Originally a village in the county of Surrey, today it is mainly a residential suburb, and includes Mitcham Common. It has been a settlement throughout recorded history. Amenities include Mitcham Library and Mitcham Cricket Green. Nearby major districts are Croydon, Sutton, Streatham, Brixton and Merton. Mitcham, most broadly defined, had a population of 63,393 in 2011, formed from six wards including Pollards Hill.

Harris Academy Merton (formerly Tamworth Manor High School, and prior to that Pollards Hill High School) is a secondary school and sixth form located in the London Borough of Merton district of Mitcham. When inspected by Ofsted in 2012, it was judged to be outstanding.

Beddington Zero Energy Development (BedZED) is an environmentally friendly housing development in Hackbridge, London, England. It is in the London Borough of Sutton, 2 miles (3 km) north-east of the town of Sutton itself. Designed to create zero carbon emissions, it was the first large scale community to do so.

Mitcham Junction is a National Rail station served by Southern and Thameslink trains, and a Tramlink stop. It is in the London Borough of Merton and is in Travelcard Zone 4. The station opened on 1 October 1868 specifically to provide an interchange between the new "South London & Sutton Junction Railway", later re-branded as part of the Portsmouth Line, and the existing "Wimbledon & Croydon Railway". Despite its name, Mitcham Junction is no longer a railway junction; one of the lines that crossed here (the W&CR) has become a grade-separated tramline, the Croydon Tramlink. Only the Portsmouth Line remains, used by services from Sutton and beyond to London Victoria, and from Sutton to London Blackfriars and beyond. The line still has sharp curves at either end of the station where the junctions were located and speed is limited to 30 miles per hour (48 km/h).The platforms can accommodate 7 coaches. For longer trains selective door opening is used.

Hackbridge railway station is a railway station at Hackbridge in the London Borough of Sutton in South London. The station is served by Southern and Thameslink. It is in Travelcard Zone 4. The station platforms can accommodate up to 7 coaches. Where trains are longer than this, selective door opening is used.

South London Crematorium and Streatham Park Cemetery is a cemetery and crematorium on Rowan Road in Streatham Vale. It has always been privately owned and managed and is now part of the Dignity plc group . The South London Crematorium is situated within the cemetery grounds and opened in 1936.
