Old Catonsville High School

Old Salem Church and Cemetery is a historic Lutheran Church and adjacent cemetery located at Catonsville, Baltimore County, Maryland. The main part of the 1849 Gothic Revival church building is a three bay, irregular stone structure approximately 28 feet wide and 42 feet long. It features a gable roof, a short boxy steeple, an entrance porch at the front and an apse at the rear. The interior features a gallery and organ loft has the original tracker organ, which is still hand pumped by a wooden lever on the north side of the case. From early on, the ground to the south of the church was laid out as a cemetery. The church was founded by German Lutheran immigrants.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

Castle Thunder was a house constructed on Frederick Road in 1787. It belonged to Charles Carroll of Carrollton, the last surviving signer of the United States Declaration of Independence. Carroll gave the home to his daughter, Mary Carroll, and her husband, Richard Caton, after they got married at Annapolis on November 25, 1787. The home stood from 1787 to 1907. The house was used as an inn for travelers. Prior to the American Civil War, a private school was conducted at the house by Carrie Coale and her daughter. In 1907, the house was bought by former Maryland senator John Hubner and torn down to make room for the residence of Arthur C. Montell, a cashier of the First National Bank of Catonsville.The Catonsville branch of the Baltimore County Public Library was later built at the house's location, which currently stands.A commemorative plaque was built at the house's location in front of the library in 1966. The plaque went missing in July 2018 and was found, damaged, by the Maryland State Highway Administration. Repairs for the sign were estimated to be $350.

Central Catonsville and Summit Park Historic District is a national historic district in Catonsville, Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. It is entirely residential and consists generally of rectangular lots, the largest lots being found on Frederick Road and Newburg Avenue. These contain the earliest dwellings. The earliest, and the largest house in the district is the Gary Mansion, known as The Summit, built in the 1850s as a summer house in Second Empire style. The Summit Park subdivision takes its name from this house, and surrounds it on all sides. Structures in the district date from 1869 and extends to 1958, by which date the neighborhood had substantially achieved its present form and appearance.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

Summit is a historic home located in Catonsville, Baltimore County, Maryland. It a large brick house, once part of a country estate owned by James Albert Gary. It features a three-story Italianate tower and large wing extending to the rear. The main façade is three stories and five bays wide, with the tower located on the east side. A one-story porch with square columns and railings runs across the full façade. The mansion was built originally as a summer home and later converted to apartments after its sale to the Summit Park Company in 1919.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

It was laid out with the construction of the electric railway and is overwhelmingly residential, with three churches (one with a school), a modern public library, and an Art Deco water tower. Architectural styles in the district range from mid- to late-19th century vernacular "I-houses" to late-19th and early-20th century styles such as Queen Anne, Bungalow, Colonial Revival, Dutch Colonial, Tudor Revival, and Craftsman. A large number of these dwellings have freestanding garages, typically finished in a like manner to their houses.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Winters Lane Historic District is a national historic district at Catonsville, Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. It is a historically African-American residential community which developed between 1867 and the mid-1940s. Winters Lane is located between Frederick Road and the Baltimore National Pike. It is composed mainly of single-family dwellings augmented by a few commercial, social, or religious resources. The district contains 155 properties, including 141 residential properties, two former schools, three commercial buildings, three social clubs, and five churches or church-related buildings.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Catonsville High School (CHS) is a four-year public high school in Catonsville, Maryland. It is located on the southwest side of Baltimore County, Maryland, close to the Baltimore border near Anne Arundel and Howard County, just outside the Baltimore Beltway.

Spring Grove Hospital Center, formerly known as Spring Grove State Hospital, is a psychiatric hospital located in the Baltimore, Maryland, suburb of Catonsville. Founded in 1797 as a general medical and psychiatric retreat, Spring Grove Mental Hospital is the second oldest continuously operating psychiatric hospital in the United States. Today, the hospital operates 425 beds and has approximately 800 admissions and discharges a year. Service lines include adult and adolescent acute psychiatric admissions, long term inpatient care, medical-psychiatric hospitalization, forensic evaluation services, inpatient psychiatric research, and assisted living services. The facility is owned and operated by the University of Maryland, Baltimore since May 2022 and is the location of the Maryland Psychiatric Research Center which is renowned for its research into the causes of schizophrenia.

Westview Mall is a shopping mall located in Catonsville, Maryland, United States. The mall originally opened in 1958 as an outdoor strip mall, but was later converted into an indoor shopping center. The original anchors were Hutzler's and Stewart's. Other tenants included Food Fair and G. C. Murphy. Stewart's became Caldor in 1983 and Hutzler's was sold to Hochschild-Kohn. By 1990, the mall had 80 stores. In 2002, the mall returned to its original outdoor status, when the indoor section, which had largely failed, was converted into big box stores such as Sam's Club and Marshalls, while Lowe's occupies the space where Stewart's had been. As of 2022, the mall is owned by CB Richard Ellis.

Mount de Sales Academy is an all-girls secondary school located in Catonsville in unincorporated Baltimore County, Maryland. The school is located near the city of Baltimore and within the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Baltimore. The school is affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church and is partially staffed by the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia. Mount de Sales Academy was founded in 1852 by the Visitation Sisters as a boarding school for girls. Now teaching only girls it now serves as a college-preparatory school. It was the first institution in Baltimore County to offer education to women of all religious denominations.
