St Mary's College is a private Catholic primary and secondary school for girls, located within the "square mile" of the city of Adelaide, South Australia.

Sir Donald Bradman Drive is a major arterial road that travels east–west through the western suburbs of Adelaide, South Australia. It is the main route from the Adelaide city centre to the Adelaide Airport. Formerly known as Burbridge Road, the section between the city centre and Tapleys Hill Road was renamed as Sir Donald Bradman Drive on 1 January 2001 in honour of Australian cricketer Sir Donald Bradman. The remaining section of Burbridge Road, west of Tapleys Hill Road to the coast, retains its original name. The road starts at West Terrace, goes through the Adelaide Park Lands, over the Adelaide-Melbourne railway line and crosses South Road and Marion Road before passing by the Airport and reaching Tapleys Hill Road. Ikea and Masters Hardware are also on this road.

Grote Street is a major street in the CBD of the centre of Adelaide, South Australia. It runs in an east–west direction, as a continuation of Wakefield Street where it crosses Victoria Square. It concludes at West Terrace; the road which continues is Sir Donald Bradman Drive. The Grote Street–Sir Donald Bradman Drive route is the most direct method of travelling from the CBD to the Adelaide Airport. It was named after George Grote, an English classical historian and supporter of Robert Gouger.Grote Street is largely occupied by retail outlets, as well as St Patrick's Church and Her Majesty's Theatre. The rear entrance of the Adelaide Central bus station is located on this street. Given that the Moonta Street Chinatown is accessible via Grote Street, it is also home to some Chinese restaurants and other businesses owned by Chinese Australians and Korean Australians. The northern entrance of the Adelaide Central Markets can also be found on Grote Street. A paifang, comprising an archway erected by the city council and two lions donated by the People's Republic of China, marks the northern entrance to the Chinatown.

Adelaide High School is a coeducational state high school situated on the corner of West Terrace and Glover Avenue in the Adelaide Parklands. It was the first government high school in South Australia. It currently has an enrolment of approximately 1,500 students.

Sturt Street is a street in the south-western sector of the centre of Adelaide, South Australia. It runs east-west between West Terrace to King William Street, passing through Whitmore Square. After crossing King William Street, it continues as Halifax Street. The street is one of the many geographical locations in South Australia that are named after the explorer Charles Sturt.Sturt Street is home to the Sturt Street Community School, residential properties, and small businesses including boutiques and small galleries. There was once a length of tram line along the western end of Sturt Street, which on 18 September 1918 was extended via West Terrace and then Anzac Highway (then Bay Road) to Keswick. It was used to transport soldiers returned from World War I to the military hospital there.

Gouger Street is a major street in the centre of Adelaide, South Australia. It was named after Robert Gouger , first Colonial Secretary of South Australia. Gouger Street is known for its high-end international restaurants and cafes. Cuisines found along Gouger Street include Italian, French, Argentinian, Malaysian, Vietnamese, Chinese and Thai. Many of the restaurants on Gouger Street have won awards; some of the better known ones are Star of Siam (which specializes in Thai cuisine), La Porchetta (Italian) and Chi on Gouger. The southern entrance of the Adelaide Central Market can also be found on Gouger street. A paifang, comprising an archway erected by the city council and two lions donated by the People's Republic of China, marks the southern entrance to the Moonta Street Chinatown.

The Adelaide Remand Centre is a maximum-security prison facility located in Adelaide, South Australia, used to hold prisoners on remand pending trial. It is located in Currie Street in the Adelaide central business district. As of July 2020 it has a capacity of 274 prisoners in a high-security facility, and is privately managed by Serco.

Waymouth Street, often spelt as Weymouth Street in the early days, is an east–west street running between King William Street and West Terrace in the Adelaide city centre in South Australia. The street is named after Henry Waymouth, a founding director of the South Australian Company, whose name was also sometimes spelt as Weymouth.

The Adelaide College of the Arts, also known as AC Arts and formerly known as Adelaide Centre for the Arts, is a campus of TAFE South Australia that specialises in performing arts education. It is located on Light Square, Adelaide, and is part of TAFE SA. Light Square, also known as Wauwi (formerly Wauwe), is one of five public squares in the Adelaide city centre. Located in the centre of the north-western quarter of the Adelaide city centre, its southern boundary is Waymouth Street, while Currie Street crosses its northern tip, isolating about a quarter of its land. Morphett Street runs through the centre in a north-south direction. It is one of six squares designed by the founder of Adelaide, Colonel William Light, who was Surveyor-General at the time, in his 1837 plan of the City of Adelaide which spanned the River Torrens Valley, comprising the city centre (South Adelaide) and North Adelaide. It was named after the city's founder and planner, Colonel William Light, on 23 May 1837, by the Street Naming Committee. In 2003, it was assigned a second name, Wauwe (later corrected to Wauwi), in the Kaurna language of the original inhabitants, as part of the Adelaide City Council's dual naming initiative. Wauwi was the wife of Kadlitpina, a well-known Kaurna elder.

Whitmore Square, also known as Iparrityi (formerly Ivaritji), is one of five public squares in the Adelaide city centre, South Australia. Occupying 2.4ha (24,000 m2), it is located at the junction of Sturt and Morphett Streets in the south-western quarter of the Adelaide city grid. It is one of six squares designed by the founder of Adelaide, Colonel William Light, who was Surveyor-General at the time, in his 1837 plan of the City of Adelaide which spanned the River Torrens Valley, comprising the city centre (South Adelaide) and North Adelaide. The square was named in 1837 by the Street Naming Committee after William Wolryche-Whitmore, a British politician who had introduced the South Australia Act 1834 to the British House of Commons. In 2003, as part of the dual naming initiative of the Adelaide City Council, a second name, Ivaritji (later corrected to Iparrityi), was assigned in the Kaurna language of the original inhabitants. Iparrityi (c.1847—1929), also known as Amelia Taylor, was the last full-blood Kaurna person and last speaker of the Kaurna language.

The South Australian School of Design was an art school in the earliest days of the City of Adelaide, the progenitor of the South Australian School of Arts, a department of the University of South Australia.
