Belmar (Lakewood)

The Laboratory of Art and Ideas at Belmar was a contemporary art institution located in Lakewood, a suburb on the western boundary of Denver, Colorado. Founded by Executive Director Adam Lerner, The Lab at Belmar was a 104-acre (0.42 km2) mixed-use residential and commercial urban neighborhood located in Lakewood. Operating in a storefront in Belmar since May 2004, The Lab opened in a dedicated space at Belmar in fall 2006. In March 2009 The Lab merged with MCA Denver (Museum of Contemporary Art Denver), and Adam Lerner became Director of MCA Denver. In May 2009 the Belmar location was closed and its programming was integrated into MCA Denver.

The Colorado Media School first opened in Colorado in 2001. It is currently located in the Belmair shopping district in Lakewood, Colorado. The Lakewood Cultural Center is a regional theatre and arts venue located in Lakewood, Colorado. The space is 38,000 square feet (3,500 m2) and opened in Fall 2000. It includes a 320-seat auditorium, community room, gallery/exhibit space, classrooms and lobby space. It is designed for art and cultural programming and general community use. The Cultural Center offers special engagements, nationally & internationally recognized artists presented by the City of Lakewood to perform or exhibit at the Cultural Center, and community presentations, performances or exhibits featuring work by local artists, schools and performing arts organizations.

Alameda International Junior/Senior High School is located at 1255 S. Wadsworth Boulevard in Lakewood, Colorado, United States.It is one of 158 schools in the Jefferson County Public School system, and is a combination junior high and senior high school, containing grades 7-12. The school's colors are blue and white, and its mascot is a Pirate. The school had a rich basketball history before open enrollment. With the original basketball court and baseball field being one of the older ones in the state. The mission statement of the school is: "Alameda International delivers a challenging, international education in which students act to create a better and more peaceful world through inquiry, intercultural understanding, and respect." The 2015-2016 school year was the first year that Alameda functioned as a junior/senior high school. Jefferson County previously converted O'Connell Middle School into an elementary school, and moved its 7th and 8th graders to Alameda.

The Colorado Christian University Event Center is the home arena of the Colorado Christian Cougars, who play basketball in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. In addition to university activities, the Event Center has served as the home arena for the American Basketball Association Colorado Storm in 2004 and the International Basketball League Colorado Crossover in 2006-2007.

Casa Bonita (Spanish for "pretty house") is a former chain of Mexican-themed "eatertainment" restaurants which originated in Oklahoma City. The last restaurant in the former chain is located in Lakewood, Colorado, at the JCRS (Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society)) Shopping Center, now known as the Lamar Station Plaza. The building is currently open for tours only, as the State of Colorado ordered all restaurants in the state to close, begining March 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
