L'Ametlla de Mar

Ametlla de Mar Observatory is an astronomical observatory situated in L'Ametlla de Mar in the autonomous Catalonia region of Spain. It has received the IAU observatory code 946 and is operated by Catalan astronomer Jaume Nomen. The observatory participates in the "Unicorn Project" and in the Minor Planet Astrometry group (Grup d'Estudis Astronòmics, GEA). The Minor Planet Center credits the Ametlla de Mar Observatory with the discovery of 12 numbered minor planets between 2001 and 2002. As of 2016, all numbered bodies remain unnamed and still display their provisional designation.

The Circuit Calafat was built in 1974 outside the town of the same name in the L'Ametlla de Mar in Catalonia. Private finance paid by the company Calafat, S.A., which cost a total of 30 million pesetas (USD $210,716.05). Fans made their own contribution, purchasing shares in the facility worth a total of 25,000 pesetas. The track closed temporarily during 1982 and 1985 because of legal problems but soon recovered. In 1990 an extension to the circuit was constructed, bringing it up to its current 3.250 km (2.019 mi) length. On 2008 an investment plan to update the installations and security of the track started, thus in 2012 the circuit received the homologation from the Catalan Motorcycle federation. In 2015 the circuit has been the destination for first tests of NextEV by TCR for the 2015/2016 Formula E Championship. Spanish driver Antonio García participated in the test.

The Vandellòs Nuclear Power Plant is a nuclear power plant in Vandellòs located close to the Coll de Balaguer pass (Baix Camp comarca) in Catalonia, Spain. Unit one was a 508 MWe carbon dioxide gas cooled reactor modeled on the UNGG reactor at the Saint Laurent Nuclear Power Plant in France. It was shut down on 31 July 1990, following an incident that damaged one of its two turbogenerators on 19 October 1989. Important nuclear safety functions in the plant were impaired by the fire, and the event was later classified as a level 3 event in the International Nuclear Event Scale. Unit two is a 1087 MWe PWR. The station's owners are: 72% Endesa and 28% Iberdrola.

The Coll de Balaguer is a mountain pass in Catalonia, Spain. It is located at the point where the Catalan Pre-Coastal Range reaches the sea, in L'Almadrava, within the Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant municipality, Baix Camp. Despite its scant altitude this pass has been an important communication line between the Terres de l'Ebre region and the Camp de Tarragona since ancient times. Nowadays highways AP-7, N-340, as well as the RENFE Barcelona-Valencia railway line go through the Coll de Balaguer pass. There are the ruins of a 13th-century castle overlooking the pass from the time of the fight against the Saracens. The Vandellòs Nuclear Power Plant is located right south of Coll de Balaguer.

L'Ampolla (Catalan pronunciation: [lamˈpoʎa]) is a municipality in the comarca of the Baix Ebre in Catalonia, Spain. It was created in 1990 by the division of the municipality of el Perelló. It has a population of 3,681 (register office, 2024) . It is situated on the coast south of l'Ametlla de Mar, and is an important tourist centre and minor fishing port. The town is served by the A-7 autopista, the N-340 coast road and by a station on the RENFE railway line between Tarragona and Valencia. The GR 92 long-distance footpath, which roughly follows the length of the Mediterranean coast of Spain, has a staging point at L'Ampolla. Stage 29 links northwards to L'Ametlla de Mar, a distance of 15.3 kilometres (9.5 mi), whilst stage 30 links southwards to Amposta, a distance of 16.3 kilometres (10.1 mi).

Botanical Garden Ecoherbes Park is a botanical garden of medicinal plants located in the town of L'Ampolla known as "Porta del Delta de l'Ebre" because of its proximity to the Ebro Delta in the region of Baix Ebre, an area declared a biosphere reserve by UNESCO.

Camarles (Catalan pronunciation: [kaˈmaɾles]) is a municipality in the comarca of the Baix Ebre, Catalonia, Spain. Established in 1978 from parts of Tortosa municipality, it lies in the eastern part of the comarca, near the Ebre delta’s headwaters. It has a population of 3,392 (register office, 2024) . The town is accessed via the N-340 road, which connects to Tortosa and links to the AP-7 autopista through l'Aldea to the south or l'Ampolla to the north.

Mola de Colldejou is a mountain chain in Catalonia, Spain located north of the Serra de Llaberia in the Catalan Pre-Coastal Range. The highest point is 921.8 m above sea level. This mountain range is named after Colldejou village, located east of the range.

L'Aldea (Catalan pronunciation: [lalˈdea]) is a municipality in the comarca of the Baix Ebre in Catalonia, Spain. It was created in 1983 from parts of the municipality of Tortosa. It has a population of 4,471 (register office, 2024) . It is situated on the left bank of the Ebre at the start of the delta. The town is served by the A-7 autopista and the N-340 road, and has a station on the RENFE railway line between Tarragona and Valencia.

Baix Ebre (Western Catalan: [ˈbaʃ ˈeβɾe], "Lower Ebro") is a comarca (county) on the coast in southern Catalonia. It is located in the region of Terres de l'Ebre, and its capital is Tortosa.

Mont-roig del Camp (Catalan pronunciation: [munˈrɔdʒ ðəl ˈkam]) is a town and municipality in the comarca of Baix Camp in Catalonia. It is in the middle of its comarca, between the Serra de Colldejou and the Mediterranean Sea. It includes two populated places: the historic town of Mont-roig del Camp in the interior, whose economy revolves round the cultivation of nuts and olives, and the beach resort of Miami Platja on the coast, the Costa Daurada. Overall it has a population of 14,615 (register office, 2025) . The municipality has a long coastline, with campsites and a few hotels, informally distributed over the districts of Pins de Miramar and Miami Platja, as well as round the Platja de Rifà (Rifà beach), close to the district of Les Pobles. Notable buildings include the "new" parish church, that of Sant Miquel, built in Gothic and Renaissance style between 1574 and 1610. High above the town on a very eroded outcrop of rock stands the sanctuary of Our Lady of the Rock with the Sant Ramon chapel. The painter Joan Miró spent long periods at the family property of Mas d'en Miró, in the Les Pobles district, from 1911 onwards. It was a frequent subject in his early paintings, such as The Farm (1920–21) and The Tilled Field (1923–24).

Miami Platja (Catalan pronunciation: [miˈami ˈpladʒə]; literally "Miami Beach") is a coastal resort about 30 km south of Tarragona, in southern Catalonia, Spain. It forms part of the municipality of Mont-roig del Camp, some 20 kilometres (12 mi) away, although it is contiguous with the municipality of Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant, just the other side of the river Llastres. It consists mainly of holiday apartments and villas, with a few hotels. A large area between the coast road and railway and the two motorways further inland is filled with holiday homes built in rows along wide streets.
