Sečovlje (pronounced [sɛˈtʃoːu̯ljɛ]; Italian: Sicciole) is a settlement in the Municipality of Piran in the Littoral region of Slovenia.

Portorož Airport (Slovene: Aerodrom Portorož) (IATA: POW, ICAO: LJPZ) is the smallest of three international airports in Slovenia. It is located near the village of Sečovlje, 6 km (3.7 mi) south of Portorož, and less than 300 m (980 ft) from the Croatian border. The airport was opened on 27 September 1962. In addition to Portorož, the airport serves a number of other tourist destinations in the region, including Piran, Izola, Koper in Slovenia, Trieste in Italy and Umag in Croatia. The airport is intended for passenger and cargo transport, sport, tourist and business flights. It lies at two metres above sea level, the runway measures 1,205 m × 30 m (3,953 ft × 98 ft).

Sečovlje Saltpans Natural Park (Slovene: Krajinski park Sečoveljske soline, Italian: Parco ambientale delle saline di Sicciole) is a natural park in southwestern Slovenia covering the Sečovlje Saltpans near the village of Sečovlje. The salt evaporation pond covers an area of 16.1 hectares (40 acres), while saltworks lie along the mouth of the Dragonja River, covering an area of 650 hectares (1,600 acres). Visitors provide an important source of income for the park. Due to its specific geographic constraints and other factors, (and especially in order to encourage visitors to leave their vehicles outside the park boundaries) it is hoped that electric 'game watching vehicles' (electric public transport) for visitors can be introduced.

The Sečovlje Saltworks (Slovene: Sečoveljske soline; Italian: Saline di Sicciole) is the largest Slovenian salt evaporation pond. Along with the Strunjan Saltworks, they are the northernmost Mediterranean saltworks and one of the few where salt is still produced in a traditional way, as well as a wetland of international importance and a breeding place for waterbirds. They are part of the Piran Saltworks and are located at Parecag in Slovenian Istria, the southwest of the country, at the Adriatic Sea, along the mouth of the Dragonja River near Sečovlje.The saltworks have been active since the 13th century. Nowadays, the salt production is carried on in order to preserve natural and cultural heritage. The area of the saltworks and the Seča peninsula have been declared the Sečovlje Salina Landscape Park. The Museum of Salt-Making in Sečovlje received the Europa Nostra Prize, bestowed by the European Union to outstanding initiatives for the preservation of cultural heritage in 2003, the first Slovene organisation to be awarded. The salt produced at the saltworks is marketed as Piran Salt (Slovene: Piranska sol) and has Protected designation of origin status in the European Union.In 1993, the saltworks were put on the list of Ramsar wetlands of international importance. The wetland covers 650 hectares (1,600 acres) in the mouth of the Dragonja.

Seča (pronounced [ˈseːtʃa]; Italian: Sezza) is a settlement in the Municipality of Piran in the Littoral region of Slovenia.

Nožed (pronounced [ˈnoːʒɛt]; Italian: Nosedo) is a small settlement in the Municipality of Izola in the Littoral region of Slovenia.

Parecag (pronounced [paɾɛˈtsaːk]; Italian: Parezzago) is a settlement next to Sečovlje in the Municipality of Piran in the Littoral region of Slovenia. Most of the Sečovlje saltworks lies in the area of Parecag.

Lucija (pronounced [luˈtsiːja]; Italian: Lucia) is a settlement in the Municipality of Piran in the Littoral region of Slovenia. With a population over 6,000, it is the largest settlement in Slovenia that is not a municipality in its own right.

Malija (pronounced [maˈliːja]; Italian: Malio) is a village in the Municipality of Izola in the Slovenian Istria region of Slovenia.

The Lucija Marina is a marina in the town of Lucija, on the Slovenian coast. Its official owner is the company Marina Portorož.In 1996, the Lucija Marina and Studio 37, under the guidance of marina captain Marjan Matevljič and studio director Jurij Korenc, launched the Internautica boat show, the first of its kind in Slovenia. The annual event has become a major tourist attraction.

The Rolling Stones Museum is a museum in Portorož in Slovenia. It is dedicated to the British rock band The Rolling Stones. The music television programme VH1 proclaimed it in 2013 one of the "10 Truly Insane Music Museums + Shrines".

The Dragonja (pronounced [dɾaˈɡoːnja]; Italian: Dragogna) is a 30-kilometre (19 mi) long river in the northern part of the Istrian peninsula. It is a meandering river with a very branched basin and a small quantity of water. It has a pluvial regime and often dries up in summer. It features very diverse living environments and is home to a number of animal and plant species. The Dragonja has been a matter of a territorial dispute between Croatia and Slovenia, with its lowest portion de facto the border of the two countries.
