Stratford, Ohio

The Stratford Methodist Episcopal Church is a historic former church building located near the city of Delaware, Ohio, United States. Constructed in the 1840s for workers in a company town, it was home to a congregation of the Methodist Episcopal Church until the community faltered following the company's closure. Situated at the southern end of the company town, it remains prominent because of its architecture, and it has been named a historic site.

The Methodist Theological School in Ohio (MTSO) is a graduate theological school and seminary in Delaware, Ohio. MTSO is one of the 13 official seminaries of The United Methodist Church. MTSO is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools of The Higher Learning Commission and is also accredited the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada to provide post-baccalaureate professional and academic degree programs to educate persons for the practice of ministry and for teaching and research in the theological disciplines.In addition to The United Methodist Church, MTSO students represent over a dozen faith traditions.

Perkins Observatory is an astronomical observatory in Delaware, Ohio. It is owned and operated by Ohio Wesleyan University. In 1931 it had the third largest telescope in the World; the 69 inch aperture Perkins telescope came online at this observatory. The mirror was the largest cast in the United States up to that time, and it was made by the United States National Bureau of Standards.In the 1930s this observatory also started periodic document release called The Telescope, featuring results from the telescope but grew to include other astronomical information.The University partnered with Ohio State University in 1935, to help run the big telescope and the agreement lasted for almost seven decades. In the 1960s the telescope was moved to Arizona, USA for better viewing conditions, and fitted with new larger mirror. Nevertheless, the Observatory continued to be a hub of astronomical activity in the region and for the University. In the 21st century the Observatory supports various public and academic astronomical activities and is a source for information such as NEO flybys in the community.

The Ohio State University Radio Observatory was a Kraus-type (after its inventor John D. Kraus) radio telescope located on the grounds of the Perkins Observatory at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio from 1963 to 1998. Known as Big Ear, the observatory was part of Ohio State University's Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) project. The telescope was designed by John D. Kraus. Construction of the Big Ear began in 1956 and was completed in 1961, and it was finally turned on for the first time in 1963. The main reflector of Big Ear—The Flat Reflector—measured approximately 103 meters by 33 meters, giving it the sensitivity equivalent to a circular dish measuring nearly 53 meters in diameter.The observatory completed the Ohio Sky Survey in 1971, and from 1973–1995, Big Ear was used to search for extraterrestrial radio signals, making it the longest running SETI project in history. In 1977, the Big Ear received the Wow! signal. The observatory was disassembled in 1998 when developers purchased the site from the university and used the land to expand a nearby golf course.

Carpenter's Mill is a ghost town in Liberty Township, Delaware County, Ohio, United States, which developed around a mill constructed ca. 1805 on the Whetstone River (now the Olentangy River). It was designated an official Post Office in 1832, but it was discontinued in 1837.

Littick Field, usually referred to simply as The Playground, is a baseball field at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio, where the Battling Bishops' baseball team plays. The field—named after the Clay Littick, Class of 1915.Littick Field is located just south of Selby Field and on the eastern side of the campus of Ohio Wesleyan University. The dimensions of the field from home plate to the outfield fence are 330 feet in left and right field, 385 feet in center field and 365 feet in left and right center gaps.

The Edwards Gymnasium and Pfeiffer Natatorium on the main campus of Ohio Wesleyan University was built in 1905. It was designed by architect J.W. Yost and was built by Feick & Son.It has a stone entry portico and a "dominant" red tile roof with dormers. The gymnasium is named for alumnus John Edwards of Leipsic, Ohio, who served on the board of trustees of the university and was a major benefactor to the university.Edwards Hall is a 1,800-seat multi-purpose arena. Located at the south end of the campus in Delaware, Ohio, it is home to the Wesleyan Battling Bishops swimming and handball teams. In 1985, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places along with the natatorium named for benefactor Annie Merner Pfeiffer.The Pfeiffer Natatorium was the competition pool for OWU from 1954 to 2010.Basketball and volleyball competition, and other indoor sports, were moved to the 2,300 seat Branch Rickey Arena, built adjacent to Edwards Gymnasium, upon its completion in 1976.The Edwards Gymnasium was then renovated to accommodate the Pfeiffer Natatorium, named for donor Annie Merner Pfeiffer.It is 150 by 83 feet (46 m × 25 m) in plan. Built mainly of light-colored brick, it has a hipped red clay-tiled roof with dormers at both ends and sides. The entrance has carved stone pillars.The complex was listed on the National Register as part of a 1984 study of historic resources on the OWU campus. Branch Rickey Arena is a 2,300-seat multi-purpose arena at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio, located centrally on campus and adjacent to Edwards Gymnasium. It is home to the Wesleyan Battling Bishops basketball and volleyball teams. It opened in June 1976, replacing Edwards Gymnasium, which was remodeled to become a full-time exercise facility. It was named for the late Branch Rickey, Class of 1904, a major benefactor to the university and a manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers.

The Schimmel-Conrades Science Center is a science building at Ohio Wesleyan University. The Science Center involved the renovation of 100,000 square feet (9,290 m²) of indoor space, including physically connecting the two old science facilities, constructing 52,000 square feet (4,830 m²) of additional space, and creating an expanded and integrated science library, amphitheatre, and three-story atrium.The Science Center includes a cafe and vending machines. The floorspace is used for events ranging from the annual President's Ball to regular poster sessions.

Selby Field, usually referred to simply as Selby, is the football, field hockey, track & field and lacrosse field at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio, where the Battling Bishops play. Selby has a seating capacity of 9,100, with all seats falling between the 15-yard lines of the field. Its press box was lauded as the largest in Ohio outside of Ohio Stadium. Built in 1929, the grandstands of Selby are two separate smooth-finished concrete structures which provide seating for 9,100.Selby Field is located on South Henry Street, just east of the academic and administrative buildings of Ohio Wesleyan. On March 18, 1985, Selby Field was added to the National Register of Historic Places. From 2012 through 2015, the Ohio Machine of Major League Lacrosse played home games at Selby Field.
