Darlington is an unincorporated community in Muskingum County, in the U.S. state of Ohio.

Moxahala Creek is a tributary of the Muskingum River, 29.2 miles (47.0 km) long, in southeastern Ohio in the United States. Via the Muskingum and Ohio Rivers, it is part of the watershed of the Mississippi River, draining an area of 301 square miles (780 km2)Moxahala Creek rises in southeastern Perry County and flows generally northward into southern Muskingum County, past Crooksville and Roseville. It joins the Muskingum River at South Zanesville.It was historically also known as Jonathan's Creek.

South Zanesville is a village in Muskingum County, Ohio, United States, along the Muskingum River near the mouth of the Moxahala Creek. The population was 1,894 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Zanesville micropolitan area.

Maysville High School is a public high school in the Maysville Local School District which is located in the southern portion of Muskingum County, Ohio, just south of the city of Zanesville. The main campus, comprising 95 acres (380,000 m2), houses approximately 2,300 students in the elementary, middle and high school. In 2002, Maysville High School and Maysville Middle School moved to a nearly 90-acre (360,000 m2) campus located on Panther Drive just off of State Route 22 (Maysville Pike) in Newton Township. The High School and Middle School are combined into a single building called the Maysville 6-12 building. Previously, Maysville High School was located on Pinkerton Road in Springfield Township, with Maysville Middle School (formerly Maysville Junior High School) in a neighboring separate building.

Jefferson Van Horne (December 12, 1802 – September 28, 1857) was an American infantry officer. He was a veteran of the Seminole Wars, the Military Occupation of Texas, and the Mexican–American War. He is best known as the "Founder of Fort Bliss".

Springfield Township is one of the twenty-five townships of Muskingum County, Ohio, United States. The 2000 census found 5,433 people in the township, 3,562 of whom lived in the unincorporated portions of the township.

Philo High School is a public high school in Duncan Falls, Ohio that serves grades 9-12. It is the only high school in the Franklin Local School District. The school colors, as well as the district colors, are gold and blue. They are nicknamed the "Philo Electrics" which they adopted in 1931 after the nearby, former Philo Power Plant. The current principal is Troy Dawson.

Putnam Historic District, located in Zanesville, Ohio, was an important center of Underground Railroad traffic and it home to a number of abolitionists. The district, with private residences and other key buildings important in the fight against slavery, lies between the Pennsylvania Central Railroad, Van Buren Street, and Muskingum River. It became a historic district of the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

The William R. Smith House, at 920 Marietta St. in Zanesville, Ohio, was built in 1894. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It has been demolished.
