Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area

The Renaissance Pleasure Faire of Southern California (RPFS) is a Renaissance faire that takes place at the Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area in Irwindale, California. It opened in the spring of 1963 and has been an annual event since then. Presently owned by Renaissance Entertainment Productions (REP), it is a commercial reenactment of a 1580s market faire at Port Deptford, a waterfront town in Elizabethan era England. The Faire is generally open from the first weekend of April through the weekend before Memorial Day.

Irwindale, is a full-service city, it has local police and library services. There is a skate park, a teen center, a senior center, public gymnasium and a public pool. The majority of the housing is found on the southeastern portion of the city, near Arrow Highway and north of Cypress Street near Irwindale Avenue. There is also a tract of housing on the southeastern corner of Meridian St in the northwestern portion of the city, being distant from the rest of the housing.

For most of the year, the 92-foot (28 m)-high dam and its reservoir lie empty, but can hold more than 45,000 acre-feet (56,000,000 m3) of water during major storms. During the dry season, the basin behind the dam is used for groundwater recharge, as well as various recreational activities.

It is one of three high schools in the city, Sierra Vista High School and North Park Continuation School being the other two. The Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope (BRI) is a not-for-profit medical research facility located at and partnering with the City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, California, United States. It is dedicated to studying normal and abnormal biological processes which may be related to cancer, diabetes, HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening diseases. Both basic and clinical research are carried out in cooperation with the City of Hope National Medical Center. The institute itself is organized into more than 20 departments and divisions. As of 2021, the director is Steven T. Rosen. The Beckman Research Institute also hosts the Irell & Manella Graduate School of Biological Sciences whose founding dean was Arthur Riggs.

Vincent (sometimes referred to as East Irwindale) is a census-designated place (CDP) in the central San Gabriel Valley, in Los Angeles County, California, United States. The city name and zipcode for addresses south of Arrow Highway is Covina and 91722, respectively, and Azusa and 91702 for addresses north of Arrow Highway. The population was 15,922 at the 2010 census, up from 15,097 at the 2000 census. Vincent is named after Vincent Avenue, which passes through the community.
