Curzon Park

Curzon Park Abbey is one of three monasteries of nuns in the English Benedictine Congregation.

Chester Racecourse, also known as the Roodee, is a racecourse located in Chester, England. The horse racing venue is officially recognised by Guinness World Records as the "oldest racecourse still in operation". Horse racing in Chester dates back to the early sixteenth century, with 1539 cited as the year racing began, although some sources give a date of 1512 for the first races in Chester. It is also thought to be the smallest racecourse of significance in England at 1 mile and 1 furlong (1.8 km) long.

The Grosvenor Bridge is a single-span stone arch road bridge crossing the River Dee at Chester, England. Located on the A483 Grosvenor Road (grid reference SJ402655), it was designed by Thomas Harrison and opened by Princess Victoria of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld on 17 October 1832. The first traffic passed over it in November 1833. At the time of its construction, the bridge was the longest single-span stone arch bridge in the world, a title that it retained for 30 years. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building.Views upriver include Chester Castle and Handbridge, the impressive mansions of Curzon Park and the adjacent Roodee. Water levels of the tidal Dee vary significantly during the day.

Chester Golf Club is an English golf club, located in Curzon Park, Chester, Cheshire. The club participates in competitions and inter-club matches. Set on two levels, the 18-hole parkland course is contained within a loop of the River Dee. The clubhouse has a licensed bar.

The Dee Bridge disaster was a rail accident that occurred on 24 May 1847 in Chester, England, that resulted in five fatalities. It revealed the weakness of cast iron beam bridges reinforced by wrought iron tie bars, and brought criticism of its designer, Robert Stephenson, the son of George Stephenson.

Overleigh Cemetery is a large municipal burial ground adjacent to the approaches to Grosvenor Bridge on the south side of the River Dee in Chester, Cheshire, England. The cemetery was created in the mid-19th century by a private company but was taken into public ownership in the 1930s. The original part of the cemetery is listed at Grade II in the National Register of Historic Parks and Gardens. Since 2009, it has been owned and managed by the unitary authority Cheshire West and Chester.

Westminster Park is both a suburb to the west of Chester in England, and a large park the area takes its name after. Chester residents do not consider the area as a part of the Lache (an adjacent suburb consisting largely of council housing) although the main route through Westminster Park is Lache Lane. In any case it can sometimes be difficult to tell where one suburb ends and another begins.

Overleigh Lodge is in Duke's Drive, Chester, Cheshire, England. The lodge, together with its associated gates, gate piers and screens, are recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. It was built at the entrance of the Chester Approach to Eaton Hall for the 1st Duke of Westminster, and designed by the London architect Robert William Edis. The approach has since been cut by the A55 road. The lower storey of the two-storey lodge is in yellow sandstone; the upper storey is in red brick with blue brick diapering and has a shaped gable. The roofs are in green Westmorland slate. The lodge also has a round turret with a conical spire, and an elaborate central chimney stack.

The Watergate is in Chester, Cheshire, England and spans the A548 road between Watergate Street and New Crane Street (grid reference SJ402662). It forms part of the city walls and carries a footpath over the road. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building.Watergate was built between 1788 and 1790 for Chester City Council and replaced a medieval gate that had been damaged during the siege of Chester. The architect was Joseph Turner. It is built in red sandstone ashlar and consists of a basket arch of short rusticated voussoirs. The parapet consists of stone balusters interspersed with panels. A drinking fountain, which is now dry, is fixed to the north abutment and is dated 1857.

The Sedan House is at 13 and 13B Stanley Place, Chester, Cheshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. The house is sited on the corner of Stanley Place and City Walls Road. It takes its name from the porch on City Walls Road that was used for those being carried in a sedan to enter the house.

Watergate House is in Watergate Street, Chester, Cheshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building.

Stanley Palace is on Watergate Street, Chester, Cheshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. Built as a town house for Sir Peter Warburton in 1591, it has since been apartments, a boys' school, and a museum. The building is administered by the Friends of Stanley Palace. It is used as a hire space and meeting rooms.
