The Jade Buddha Temple (simplified Chinese: 玉佛禅寺; traditional Chinese: 玉佛禪寺; pinyin: Yùfó Chán Sì; Shanghainese: Niohveh Zoe Zy, literally Jade Buddha Chan Temple) is a Buddhist temple in Shanghai. It was founded in 1882 with two jade Buddha statues imported to Shanghai from Myanmar by sea. These were a sitting Buddha (1.95 meters tall, 3 tons), and a smaller reclining Buddha representing the Buddha's death. The temple now also contains a much larger reclining Buddha made of marble, donated from Singapore, and visitors may mistake this larger sculpture for the original, smaller piece.

Fuck Off (Chinese: 不合作方式; pinyin: Bù Hézuò Fāngshì) was a contemporary art exhibition which ran alongside the Third Shanghai Biennale (2000) in Shanghai, China. The exhibition's title translates as "Uncooperative Attitude" in Chinese, but the blunter English language sentiment was deemed preferable. The exhibition encompassed conceptual, performance, and protest art.

Changshou Road (simplified Chinese: 长寿路; traditional Chinese: 長壽路; pinyin: Chángshòu Lù) is an interchange station on Line 7 and Line 13 of the Shanghai Metro, located in Putuo District. It opened in 2009. In December 2014, the station became a transfer station when the first extension of Line 13 opened. There are five exits located on the Changshou Road and Changde Road intersection. The station serves the southern central Putuo District and bordering Jing'an District. The station also served as the eastern terminus of Line 13 from 28 December 2014, when it was extended eastward from Jinshajiang Road, until 19 December 2015, when it was extended to Shibo Avenue.

Zhongtan Road (Chinese: 中潭路; pinyin: Zhōngtán Lù) is the name of a station on Shanghai Metro Line 3 and Line 4. It's near Tanziwan, a river Bay on Suzhou Creek. The station opened on 26 December 2000 as part of the initial section of Line 3 from Shanghai South Railway Station to Jiangwan Town, and Line 4 service began here on the final day of 2005.

50 Moganshan Road (Chinese: 莫干山路50号) or "M50" is a contemporary art district in Shanghai, China, that houses a community of more than a hundred artists whose studios are open to the public. It is often compared with New York's SoHo and Beijing's 798 Art Zone. The art quarter has become a popular cultural attraction for local and international visitors alike, and was named among the top ten things to do in Shanghai by Time Magazine.

The 2010 Shanghai fire was a fire on 15 November 2010 that destroyed a 28-story high-rise apartment building in the heart of Shanghai, China, killing at least 58 people and injuring more than 70 others (with at least one source reporting more than 120 others injured). Most of the residents were retired state school senior educators. It is remembered as an iconic high-rise fire in China in the 2010s.An investigation under the PRC State Council was announced on 16 November, the day after the fire, to determine the cause of the blaze. A preliminary finding by investigators concluded that sparks from welding work being done on the building, undertaken by unlicensed welders, ignited scaffolding around the structure, which led to the apartments' destruction. The municipal government also placed the blame on illegal multi-layered subcontracting, and detained four managers from several construction companies. In all, sixteen individuals have been arrested in connection to the fire, as well as four others accused of being unlicensed welders.The week after the fire, city officials announced a compensation plan for victims of the fire and their families. The fire also prompted the government to pass stricter regulations on the construction industry, as well as increased fire safety inspections. The New York Times reported that China suppressed several building complaints, and several journalists were detained after the fire. The Asia Times wrote that an alleged slow response by the government was criticized.

Changping Road (Chinese: 昌平路; pinyin: Chāngpíng Lù) is a station on Line 7 of the Shanghai Metro. It is situated within the inner ring-road in Jing'an District. It began operation in December 2009, together with the other stations on the line. The station has a side platform layout.

Zhenping Road (simplified Chinese: 镇坪路; traditional Chinese: 鎮坪路; pinyin: Zhènpíng Lù) is the name of an interchange station on the Shanghai Metro. It serves Lines 3, 4 and 7. The station typically handles 108,000 passengers on weekdays.The station is located in Putuo District, Shanghai, and opened on 26 December 2000 as part of the initial section of Line 3 from Shanghai South Railway Station to Jiangwan Town, and Line 4 service began here on the final day of 2005. The interchange with Line 7 opened along with the first section of that line from Huamu Road to Shanghai University.

Changshou Road Subdistrict (simplified Chinese: 长寿路街道; traditional Chinese: 長壽路街道; pinyin: Chángshòu Lù Jiēdào; lit. 'Longevity Road Subdistrict') is a subdistrict on the southern side of Putuo District, Shanghai. The subdistrict was formed on 23 October 1991 from the merger of Jiaozhou Road Subdistrict and Putuo Road Subdistrict and was expanded in April 2004 when parts of Baiyu Subdistrict, Shiquan Subdistrict and Dongxin Subdistrict during an area adjustment of Putuo District. There are 31 village-level divisions within Changshou Road Subdistrict. Changshou Road Subdistrict is named for Changshou Road, a major road artery in the area.The area is bounded by Suzhou Creek to the east, Caoyang Road and a small section of Wanhangdu Road to the west, the Inner Ring Road from the west passing along to Guangfu Road to the north and the western section of Changshou Road from the eastern end of Changning Road until it crosses over to Anyuan Road and meets Suzhou Creek to the south. To the west and the north, the area borders Changfeng Xincun Subdistrict, Caoyang Xincun Subdistrict, Shiquan Road Subdistrict and Yichuan Road Subdistrict. To the south of the Wanhangdu Road boundary, Changshou Road Subdistrict meets Changning District. To the east and south the subdistrict borders Jing'an District. It is the only subdistrict whose boundaries are across Suzhou Creek.

Shanghai station (simplified Chinese: 上海火车站; traditional Chinese: 上海火車站; pinyin: Shànghǎi Huǒchēzhàn; Shanghainese: Zånhae Hutsuzae) is one of the four major railway stations in Shanghai, China, the others being Shanghai South, Shanghai Hongqiao, and Shanghai West (Shanghaixi). The station is located on Moling Road, Jing'an District, to the North of the city centre. It is governed by Shanghai Railway Bureau and is one of the most important hubs of the railway network in China.

Wuning Road (simplified Chinese: 武宁路; traditional Chinese: 武寧路; pinyin: Wǔníng Lù) is a station on Line 13 on the Shanghai Metro, which opened on December 28, 2014.
