Cheng Shiu University (CSU; Chinese: 正修科技大學; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Chèng-siu Kho-ki Tāi-ha̍k) is a private university located in Niaosong District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. CSU offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs across several faculties, including the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, the College of Business, the College of Engineering, and the College of Information and Electrical Engineering. The university offers a range of international programs, including study abroad opportunities, international internships, and language programs.

The Radiation Monitoring Center (RMC; traditional Chinese: 輻射偵測中心; simplified Chinese: 辐射侦测中心; pinyin: Fúshè Zhēncè Zhōngxīn) is the agency of the Nuclear Safety Commission of the Taiwan (ROC) which carries out monitoring of natural and man-made ionizing radiation in the environment and within the vicinity of nuclear power plants in Taiwan.

The Kaohsiung Grand Hotel (traditional Chinese: 高雄澄清湖圓山大飯店; simplified Chinese: 高雄澄清湖圆山大饭店; pinyin: Gāoxióng Chéngqīng Hú Yuánshān Dàfàndiàn) is a hotel located in Niaosong District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The hotel is located next to the Chengcing Lake. The Grand Hotel is a sister hotel of the main Grand Hotel in Taipei City, the Taipei Grand Hotel.

Chengcing Lake (Chinese: 澄清湖; Hanyu Pinyin: Chéngqīng Hú; Tongyong Pinyin: Chéngcing Hú; Wade–Giles: Ch'eng2-ch'ing1 Hu2), also known as the Cheng Ching Lake, Dabei Lake (大貝湖), or Toapi Lake (Chinese: 大埤湖; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Tōa-pi-ô͘) in Taiwanese, is an artificial lake located in Niaosong, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The lake is not far from downtown Kaohsiung and the major suburban district of Fengshan. The lake is a source of the water supply network and a tourist area of the Kaohsiung region.

The Chengcing Lake Baseball Stadium (traditional Chinese: 澄清湖棒球場; simplified Chinese: 澄清湖棒球场; pinyin: Chéngqīng Hú Bàngqiú Chǎng) is a baseball stadium located in Niaosong District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, on the side of Chengcing Lake. The stadium opened in 1999 and has been the home of Kaohsiung-Pingtung Fala (1999–2002), First Financial Holdings Agan (2003), La New Bears (2004-2010), and EDA Rhinos (2013–2016). The stadium will be the future home for TSG Hawks.

The Zhongxing Pagoda (traditional Chinese: 中興塔; simplified Chinese: 中兴塔; pinyin: Zhōngxìng Tǎ) is a pagoda in Chengcing Lake, Niaosong District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

Fongshan District (Chinese: 鳳山區; Hanyu Pinyin: Fèngshān Qū; Tongyong Pinyin: Fòngshan Cyu; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Hōng-soaⁿ-khu) is a district located in southern Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Fongshan is one of the administrative centers of Kaohsiung and is home to the Republic of China Military Academy. There are three military units currently located in Fongshan. Both the Republic of China Military Academy and R.O.C. Army Infantry School came to Taiwan from mainland China and were re-established here in 1950. Chung Cheng Armed Forces Preparatory School was established in 1976. These three units used to be the main economic driving force, but their importance diminished gradually as Fongshan has established itself as a conjunction between Pingtung City and Kaohsiung. Although there are several industrial zones at the outskirts of the city, the major lifestyle in Fongshan seems to be very residential. Many apartments were built near the Kaohsiung city center as a result of shifting economic weight. Like most of areas in Taiwan, it also has many night markets scattered around within the city. Most of the night markets run until 2:00 am. Some of them are open on different days of a week, but some others are open all year round. Some of them are temporary, while others have become permanent establishments.

National Fongshan Senior Commercial & Industrial Vocational School (FSVS) is a National vocational high school with departments ranging from machine, design to business management. It also opens PE departments and comprehensive vocational department. There are currently eight departments that make up sixty five classes in the day time and twelve others in the night time, both sum up nearly 3000 registered students.

Zhengyi railway station (Chinese: 正義車站; pinyin: Zhèngyì Chēzhàn, "justice") is a railway station in Lingya District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. It is on the Pingtung line and is operated by Taiwan Railways. It is served by all local trains.Zhengyi station was opened as part of the Kaohsiung moving its at-grade railroad underground to improve traffic. It was opened along with seven other new stations on the West Coast and Pingtung lines.

Fongshan station (Chinese: 鳳山車站; Hanyu Pinyin: Fèngshān Chēzhàn; Tongyong Pinyin: Fòngshān Chejhàn), is a railway station on the Taiwan Railways Administration Pingtung line located in Fongshan District, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan.The station is located about 700 meters, or 2300 feet northeast of the Kaohsiung MRT Fongshan Station.

National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences (KUAS; Chinese: 國立高雄應用科技大學; pinyin: Guólì Gāoxióng Yìngyòng Kējì Dàxué) was a university located in Yanchao District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST; Chinese: 國立高雄科技大學; pinyin: Guólì Gāoxióng Kējì Dàxué; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Kok-li̍p Ko-hiông Kho-ki-tai-ha̍k) is a university located in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. NKUST offers undergraduate and graduate programs in various fields such as engineering, business, management, design, humanities, and social sciences. NKUST has a number of research centers and institutes such as the center for Photonics and Optoelectronic Materials, the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, and the Institute of Polymer Science and Engineering.
