Simon Kenton High School

Kenton County is a county located in the northern part of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. As of the 2020 census, the population was 169,064, making it the third most populous county in Kentucky (behind Jefferson County and Fayette County). Its county seats are Covington and Independence. It was, until November 24, 2010, the only county in Kentucky to have two legally recognized county seats. The county was formed in 1840 and is named for Simon Kenton, a frontiersman notable in the early history of the state. Kenton County, with Boone and Campbell Counties, is part of the Northern Kentucky metro area, and is included in the Cincinnati-Middletown, OH-KY-IN Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The Kenton County Public Library is a library system serving the residents of Kenton County, Kentucky. The library ranked first in Kentucky in Hennen's American Public Library Ratings 2008.The Covington Public Library was established in 1898. A donation from Andrew Carnegie gave the city a two-story Carnegie library, completed in 1904.

Independence is a home rule-class city in Kenton County, Kentucky, United States. It is one of its county's two seats of government. The population was 28,676 at the time of the 2020 census. It is the third largest city in Northern Kentucky after Covington and Florence, and is part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area.

Atwood is an unincorporated community in Kenton County, Kentucky, United States. The community is located on Kentucky Route 17 south of Nicholson. The community has the name of Atwood C. Bird (1867-1960), a local banker and farmer.

Kenton County Golf Course is located at 3908 Richardson Road, Independence, KY 41051. It offers a 54-hole facility. All three of the courses cater for low handicapper players. The Pioneer is the shortest of the courses, playing to a par 71. As the name implies, The Pioneer was the first course built at the complex in 1968. The Pioneer course is 5,880 yards with a rating of 68.4, and a slope of 115. It is like most mid-western courses, slightly sloping on the front nine with increasing slopes on the back. The Willows, designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzan, offers golfers a scenic and challenging test of tree-lined fairways and undulating greens. The Willows course plays to 6,697 yards from the championship tees and is rated 9th among Kentucky courses. It has a par of 72, the course rating is 72.6 and the slope is 137. Power carts are optional, and are permitted to cross at 90 degrees to the direction of play. Fox Run, designed by renowned architect Arthur Hills, is a distinctively different golf course which provides various blends of architectural style from hole to hole. On this nine you will find links type holes which somewhat resemble those of a typical Scottish golf course. There is a sampling of Carolina type holes with drastic changes in elevation from tee to green. Finally, there is a balance of more traditional mid-western style golf holes, all of which blend with the natural terrain and surrounding environment. There is an absence of housing and condo development within the course complex. This course is consistently rated one of the most challenging public courses in the State of Kentucky. Kenton County Golf Course also has a driving range and a clubhouse with a pro-shop, a bar, and a wide variety of food on offer.Billy Casper Golf was named as the new management company for all three golf courses in December 2019 .

Latonia Lakes is a former city in Kenton County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 325 at the 2000 census. The city voted to be dissolved in the general elections on November 7, 2006, although the results were contested due to alleged voting irregularities. Following the certification of the election results, the city was officially dissolved on December 16, 2006.

The Boone County Distilling Company is a distillery originally formed in Petersburg, Kentucky, and operated from 1833 until shutting down in 1918. It was later re-established in Independence, Kentucky, in 2015, by owners Jack Wells and Josh Quinn. The original distillery was a steam mill bought by Virginia brothers John and William Snyder. Shortly after purchase it became the Petersburg Distillery.

Emery Row is a historic building in Covington, Kentucky, United States, that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is an example of design attributable to the regionally significant architect Samuel Hannaford, of Cincinnati, and illustrates the Queen Anne style architecture in the United States as executed in multiple-family housing units.The housing units are situated on portions of Lots 24 and 25 of the Western Baptist Theological Sub-Division (later known as Old Seminary Square Historic District), in Covington. The lots were purchased in 1841 by John Taylor, who sold them post Civil War to Charles Reeves and John Mackoy. In mid-1879, the lots were acquired by Thomas J. and Joseph J. Emery, believed to be the sons of Cincinnati industrialist, Thomas Emery.A number of prominent Covington citizens lived in these residences including Thomas H. Kennedy, the city's civil engineer and descendant of Thomas Kennedy whose 150-acre (61 ha) farm became the original town of Covington in the early 19th century.

Scott High School is located at 5400 Old Taylor Mill Road in Taylor Mill, Kentucky. The school's athletic teams are known as the "Eagles". The school is one of three high schools operated by the Kenton County School District.
