Wintergreen Gorge is a six-mile-long canyon located in Harborcreek Township, Erie County in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. The canyon reaches 250 feet deep at its highest point, gradually becoming shallower as it proceeds north. It is situated along Fourmile Creek and is partially on the campus of Penn State Behrend. The Bayfront Connector spans the gorge over the Wintergreen Gorge Bridge. Wintergreen Gorge was named for the wintergreen plant that was commonly found in the canyon. The gorge is also home to wide swaths of forest, as well as a variety of plant and animal life.A series of trails have been created to allow access to the canyon while promoting sustainable trail practices.

The Wintergreen Gorge Bridge is a 1,114-foot (340 m), steel, plate girder bridge that carries Pennsylvania Route 290 and the Bayfront Connector over Fourmile Creek and the Wintergreen Gorge in Harborcreek Township, Erie County in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. It is both the second-longest and the second-highest bridge in Erie County, with the Interstate 79 bridge in the city of Erie and the Interstate 90 bridge over Sixmile Creek being the longest and the highest, respectively.

Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, officially known as the Pennsylvania State University at Erie, The Behrend College and often shortened as Penn State Behrend, is a public satellite campus of Penn State University and is located just outside Erie, Pennsylvania. It is among the largest of Penn State's commonwealth campuses, with about 4,400 students enrolled in Behrend programs on campus and online. The college offers more than 40 undergraduate majors in four academic schools: The Sam and Irene Black School of Business, the School of Engineering, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the School of Science, which includes the Nursing Program. Behrend also offers five master's degrees, as well as a diverse range of continuing education trainings through its Community and Workforce Programs.

The Sam and Irene Black School of Business is the business school of Penn State Behrend, a four-year college of Penn State University. The Black School was founded in 1998 when the Black family donated a gift of $20 million to the college. The school is located in the Jack Burke Research and Economic Development Center on the Behrend campus.

Penn State Erie (Behrend) is a census-designated place located in Harborcreek Township, Erie County in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. It is located around the campus of Penn State Erie and near the city of Erie. As of the 2010 census the population was 1,629.

The Arboretum at Penn State Behrend (725 acres) is an arboretum located on the campus of Penn State Behrend, in Erie, Pennsylvania. It is open to the public without charge. The arboretum was dedicated in 2003. It contains more than 200 species of trees and woody bushes including collections of Aceraceae, Aquifoliaceae, Arecaceae, Betulaceae, Caesalpiniaceae, Cornaceae, Cupressaceae, Ebenaceae, Ericaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Fabaceae, Fagaceae, Ginkgoaceae, Hamamelidaceae, Hippocastanaceae, Juglandaceae, Magnoliaceae, Moraceae, Nyssaceae, Oleaceae, Pinaceae, Rosaceae, Salicaceae, Sciadopityaceae, Taxodiaceae, Theaceae, and Ulmaceae. In 2003, the college gained membership in the American Public Gardens Association. This formalized the college's status as an arboretum, opening the way to development of public education, outreach, and research programs, as well as continued conservation of the area. Ernst and Mary Behrend, the original owners of the Penn State Behrend property, began acquiring many exotic trees, including trees from Asia, when they lived on the site. The first major gift to the arboretum was from the Carrie T. Watson Garden Club, which donated flowering crabapples in 1952.

The Ridge College of Intelligence Studies and Applied Sciences at Mercyhurst University (RIAP), located on the campus of Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania, offers undergraduate and graduate studies programs in intelligence analysis. The program also offers graduate certificates in Applied Intelligence, Counterintelligence, and Law Enforcement Intelligence. The Intelligence Studies program "promotes the study of Intelligence in higher academic settings, while seeking to identify, promote, and employ best practices in the study and application of intelligence studies throughout its various disciplines (national security, law enforcement, business intelligence and academia)."

Mercyhurst Preparatory School, commonly called Mercyhurst Prep or MPS, is a Catholic, coeducational secondary school located in Erie, Pennsylvania. In the Roman Catholic Diocese of Erie, the school is located behind Mercyhurst University on East Grandview Boulevard. It is a member of the International Baccalaureate program. Mercyhurst Preparatory School is accredited by the Middle States Association under the Accreditation for Growth protocol. In 2010 Mercyhurst Prep was reaccredited until November 2017.The U.S. Department of Education awarded MPS the Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award in 1993 and again in 1998.

Wesleyville is a borough in Erie County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 3,229 at the 2020 census, down from 3,341 in 2010. It is part of the Erie Metropolitan Statistical Area.

St. Mark Seminary is a diocesan minor seminary operated by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Erie and located on a campus in the southeast corner of the city of Erie, Pennsylvania. Seminarians in residence at the seminary pursue philosophy and liberal arts studies at Gannon University. The seminary houses seminarians from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Erie and other dioceses in the region.
