Wintergreen Gorge

Mehalso Observatory is an astronomical observatory owned and operated by Penn State Erie. A gift from Dr. Robert Mehalso and his wife, Elizabeth, it is located in Erie, Pennsylvania (USA).

Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, officially known as the Pennsylvania State University at Erie, The Behrend College and often shortened as Penn State Behrend, is a public satellite campus of Penn State University and is located just outside Erie, Pennsylvania. It is among the largest of Penn State's commonwealth campuses, with about 4,400 students enrolled in Behrend programs on campus and online. The college offers more than 40 undergraduate majors in four academic schools: The Sam and Irene Black School of Business, the School of Engineering, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the School of Science, which includes the Nursing Program. Behrend also offers five master's degrees, as well as a diverse range of continuing education trainings through its Community and Workforce Programs.

The Sam and Irene Black School of Business is the business school of Penn State Behrend, a four-year college of Penn State University. The Black School was founded in 1998 when the Black family donated a gift of $20 million to the college. The school is located in the Jack Burke Research and Economic Development Center on the Behrend campus.

Penn State Erie (Behrend) is a census-designated place located in Harborcreek Township, Erie County in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. It is located around the campus of Penn State Erie and near the city of Erie. As of the 2010 census the population was 1,629.

The Arboretum at Penn State Behrend (725 acres) is an arboretum located on the campus of Penn State Behrend, in Erie, Pennsylvania. It is open to the public without charge. The arboretum was dedicated in 2003. It contains more than 200 species of trees and woody bushes including collections of Aceraceae, Aquifoliaceae, Arecaceae, Betulaceae, Caesalpiniaceae, Cornaceae, Cupressaceae, Ebenaceae, Ericaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Fabaceae, Fagaceae, Ginkgoaceae, Hamamelidaceae, Hippocastanaceae, Juglandaceae, Magnoliaceae, Moraceae, Nyssaceae, Oleaceae, Pinaceae, Rosaceae, Salicaceae, Sciadopityaceae, Taxodiaceae, Theaceae, and Ulmaceae. In 2003, the college gained membership in the American Public Gardens Association. This formalized the college's status as an arboretum, opening the way to development of public education, outreach, and research programs, as well as continued conservation of the area. Ernst and Mary Behrend, the original owners of the Penn State Behrend property, began acquiring many exotic trees, including trees from Asia, when they lived on the site. The first major gift to the arboretum was from the Carrie T. Watson Garden Club, which donated flowering crabapples in 1952.

The Wintergreen Gorge Bridge is a 1,114-foot (340 m), steel, plate girder bridge that carries Pennsylvania Route 290 and the Bayfront Connector over Fourmile Creek and the Wintergreen Gorge in Harborcreek Township, Erie County in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. It is both the second-longest and the second-highest bridge in Erie County, with the Interstate 79 bridge in the city of Erie and the Interstate 90 bridge over Sixmile Creek being the longest and the highest, respectively.

The Erie County Field House was a multipurpose arena in Erie, Pennsylvania, United States. It was home to the Erie Blades, a North American Hockey League and American Hockey League franchise. According to a 1976 promotional flyer for the facility, it had 3,750 permanent seats with a maximum capacity of 5,250. The arena was eventually replaced by the Louis J. Tullio Arena in 1983.

Wesleyville is a borough in Erie County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 3,229 at the 2020 census, down from 3,341 in 2010. It is part of the Erie Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Northwest Harborcreek is a census-designated place (CDP) in Erie County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 8,949 at the 2010 census. It includes the unincorporated communities of Fairfield and Brookside and is part of the Erie Metropolitan Statistical Area.

WXKC (99.9 FM), branded as Classy 100, is a commercial radio station in Erie, Pennsylvania. It is owned by Cumulus Media and broadcasts an adult contemporary radio format, switching to Christmas music for much of November and December. WXKC's studios are located at 471 Robison Rd West in Erie, while its transmitter is located near Knoyle Rd and Heibel Rd outside of Erie. WXKC broadcasts using HD Radio technology. Its HD2 digital subchannel airs a Classic Hip Hop format called "104.3 The Vibe". The HD2 signal feeds FM translator W282BR at 104.3 MHz.

WRTS (103.7 FM, "Star 104") is a Top 40 (CHR) radio station in Erie, Pennsylvania. WRTS's studios are located in the Boston Store building in downtown Erie while its transmitter is located near Knoyle Rd and Dewey Rd. The station is owned by iHeartMedia, and its 50,000 watt signal has a large coverage area stretching from Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio to Dunkirk, New York, as well the station can be heard across Lake Erie in parts of the Canadian province of Ontario. WRTS is one of the most popular stations in the Erie area, and has been nominated for Top 40/CHR Station Of The Year: Markets 101+ at the Radio and Records conventions in both 2006 and 2007. Some of the syndicated shows that WRTS airs are Elvis Duran and the Morning Show (Monday to Friday), On Air with Ryan Seacrest (Monday to Friday), American Top 40 (Sundays), On the Move with Enrique Santos (Saturdays), Most Requested Live with Romeo (Saturday nights), iHeartRadio Countdown (Sundays), and The Vibe with Tanya & EJ (Sunday nights), all from iHeart's Premiere Networks subsidiary. As WCCK, the station was previously known for being one of the last holdout Top-40 stations to compile its own record chart for airplay purposes; as such, several local hits that became popular in Erie but failed to break through nationwide got substantial airplay on WCCK in the 1980s as K104.On March 27, 2019, Connoisseur Media announced that it would transfer WRTS along with its sister stations to iHeartMedia in exchange for WFRE and WFMD in the Frederick, Maryland market from the Aloha Station Trust. The sale closed on May 20, 2019. On January 5, 2021, Star 104 began airing Elvis Duran for mornings which replaced The Star 104 Morning Show.

WMCE-FM (88.5 MHz) is a non-commercial classic hits radio station in Erie, Pennsylvania, owned and operated by Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. WMCE-FM was simulcast on sister station WMCE 1530 AM until its sale on September 1, 2017. The transmitter is located near Knoyle Rd and Dewey Rd outside of Erie.
