Cave Creek Dam (Arizona)

The Cave Buttes Dam is an earthen dam located near Cave Creek, Arizona. As a dry dam, it is the primary dam to prevent flooding in North Phoenix. Built in 1979 to replace the nearby Cave Creek Dam, it is designed to prevent flooding in the city from the Cave Creek Wash.

National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, also known as Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery, is a United States National Cemetery located in the city of Phoenix in Maricopa County, Arizona. It encompasses 225 acres (91 ha), and as of the end of 2005, had 43,672 interments. It is one of two national cemeteries in Arizona (the other is Prescott National Cemetery).

North/Northwest Phoenix is a region in the city of Phoenix, Arizona. It is owned by the City of Phoenix. The FAA's National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2009–2013 categorized it as a reliever airport for Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.In 2020 the airport recorded 402,444 aircraft movements, making it the 5th busiest airport in the world by aircraft movements and the busiest general aviation airport in the world. The airport's high ranking is attributed to its large general aviation business and its status as the home of two popular flight schools.

KFNN (1510 AM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Mesa, Arizona, and serving the Phoenix metropolitan area. It airs a financial news and talk radio format, broadcasting from studios in North Scottsdale. KFNN is owned by CRC Broadcasting Company, Inc., headed by Ronald Cohen and Brian DuBose. The company also owns sports radio 1580 KQFN, as well as KPSF and KXPS in the Palm Springs area, and a financial expo company called Financial Fest. KFNN has a lineup of local and national money related programs, with some nationally syndicated conservative talk show hosts. KFNN says it had the first full-time financial format of its kind in the U.S., starting in 1988. By day, KFNN is powered at 22,000 watts. But because 1510 AM is a clear-channel frequency reserved for Class A WLAC Nashville, Tennessee, KFNN must reduce nighttime power to only 100 watts to prevent interference. It uses a directional antenna at all times. The transmitter is on Black Mountain Boulevard at Rough Rider Road in Phoenix. KFNN can also be heard on FM translator K287BX at 105.3 MHz in Mesa.

KKNT (960 AM, "960 The Patriot") is a radio station broadcasting a conservative talk radio format in Phoenix, Arizona, United States. The station is owned by Salem Communications Holding Corporation, a subsidiary of the Salem Media Group. Studios are located at 24th Street and Camelback in Phoenix; the transmitter is on the city's northern edge. Established in 1947 as KOOL, the station became a force in Phoenix radio nearly immediately after Gene Autry purchased the outlet within a year of its operation. The station was a CBS affiliate for decades and spawned a successful television station, KOOL-TV (now KSAZ-TV), and an FM radio station, KOOL-FM. Autry and his business partner, Tom Chauncey, sold KOOL AM in 1978, and it struggled as KARZ for four years before Chauncey repurchased it. After several sales, Salem acquired the frequency in 1996 and instituted the present conservative talk format in 1999.

Pinnacle High School is a public high school located in the north valley of Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona. PHS opened in 2000, and is a part of the Paradise Valley Unified School District (PVUSD). The students are called Pinnacle Pioneers and the school's mascot is Pioneer Pete. The school's main colors are blue and white, however in recent years, red has been added as a school color.

CityNorth is a planned urban mixed-use development in the Northeast Valley of Phoenix, Arizona, US; featuring retail, restaurant, residential, hotel, office, cultural, civic and entertainment uses in a pedestrian-friendly environment. At completion, CityNorth will comprise more than 5,500,000 square feet (0.51 km2; 0.20 sq mi) of development on 144 acres (0.58 km2; 0.23 sq mi). Envisioned by Thomas J. Klutznick as the urban core of the Northeast Valley of Phoenix and the commercial core for the master-planned community of Desert Ridge, CityNorth is sited near the intersection of two major freeways—Loop 101 and State Route 51, making it accessible from throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area. The development will open in phases starting with Phase One, High Street, which opened in November 2008. CityNorth is being developed with the assistance of a $97.4 million tax incentive package that was at the heart of a lawsuit between Phoenix and the Goldwater Institute. Future phases for CityNorth have been put on hold due to economic conditions. The development was originally supposed to have Bloomingdale's, Macy's and Nordstrom as anchor department stores, but they have been pulled out of the project as a result of the Great Recession in 2009. Construction on the project began on June 25, 2019, with water and sewer infrastructure as a starting point. An official groundbreaking is planned for early October 2019. In 2020, "early site improvements have included grading what eventually will be a four-lane road".

North Canyon High School (NCHS) is a nationally recognized public high school located in north central Phoenix, Arizona. It features an International Baccalaureate (IB) program. Construction started in 1989, the campus was designed by Hickman, Schafer & Turley Architects Ltd. of Mesa. The campus opened in the 1991–1992 school year as Paradise Valley High School before PVHS moved into their remodeled school. It became North Canyon starting in the 1993–1994 school year. The first graduating class was the class of 1994. The school's athletics teams are known as the Rattlers, and the school colors are purple and black.

Ava Bakery is a bakery and restaurant in Phoenix, Arizona. In 2024, the bakery was a semifinalist in the Best New Restaurant category of the James Beard Foundation Awards.

Adobe Mountain School is the only secondary school operated by the Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections (formerly one of four). It is located inside AZDJC's facility at Interstate 17 and Pinnacle Peak Road in Phoenix, Arizona. It is a member of the Canyon Athletic Association and an associate member of the Arizona Interscholastic Association. Its colors are black and white, and its mascot is the Lions.

Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) is a public community college in Phoenix, Arizona. A branch campus, PVCC at Black Mountain, opened in 1985, with classes temporarily held at Paradise Valley High School. Once construction was completed in 1987, classes were held at its current location in what was then the far northern section of Scottsdale, Arizona to serve this rapidly growing area. It provides greater access for the communities of Cave Creek and Carefree. The college mascot is the puma and the colors are royal blue and white.
