American Radiator Company Factory Complex, also known as the Pierce Plant, American Radiator & Standard Sanitary Stamping Plant, Institute of Thermal Research, Equipment Plant, and Malleable Foundry, is a historic factory complex located in Buffalo, Erie County, New York. The complex was built between 1891 and 1959, originally by Pierce Steam Heating Company and expanded by its successor the American Radiator Company. It consists of three distinct sections: 1.) the Institute of Thermal Research (designed in 1910 by Schmidt, Garden & Martin and expanded in 1924 by Bley & Lyman), 2.) the Equipment Plant (built in stages between 1891 and 1952), and 3.) the Malleable Foundry (built 1915, expanded several times by 1935). American Radiator amalgamated with Standard Sanitary Manufacturing Company in 1929 to form the American Radiator and Standard Sanitary Corporaton, later becoming American Standard in 1967. The Institute of Thermal Research section is an administrative / laboratory building that is a two-story brick building with a stone foundation and an "E"-shaped plan. The original section includes Prairie School design elements. Additions to the factory buildings were made in 1906 and 1910 by prominent Buffalo architect Edward Brodhead Green.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

Houk Manufacturing Company, also known as Houk Wire Wheel Corporation, is a historic factory complex located at Buffalo in Erie County, New York. It consists of one- and two-story, brick factory buildings in a complex built in stages between 1910 and 1930. The original "L"-shaped complex built in 1910 consists of the two-story office building with an Ionic order portico, one-story machine shop, one-story warehouse, and one-story forge shop. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.2013 The building was purchased by developer Rocco Termini under his company Signature Development for approximately $300,000.00 USD. During renovations the building was designed for 22 residential units and 2 commercial units. There are 11 residential units on each floor and commercial spaces exist on the first floor on the south east corner. A black and white wheat paste mural was added to a cylinder block wall for marketing. The mural was a nod to the art deco era when Houk Manufacturing was at its prime. 2015 By 2015 the mural was almost completely gone from deterioration due to weather and has not been replaced to date (2021). 2016 Extensive and ongoing internal leaks around the new windows were reported. It appears that red siding was added to the top of entire second floor above the windows as a way to stop the water, although it has not been returned to the historic brick that was important to maintain the integrity of the historical brick. It appears concrete was used for repointing during the restoration which has led to deterioration of brick material. 2021 In 2021 a large painted mural was added onto the exterior historic brick outside of the commercial spaces, which also diminished the historical integrity if the brick. 2021 After several years of restoration work the Pierce Arrow building which was the beneficiary of Houk Wire Wheels was developed into the Pierce Arrow Lofts. During planning, about 100 residential units were in the works. (needs confirmation). 2022 McGuire Group Development purchased the building across from Houk Lofts for approximately $785,000.00 USD after Buerk Tool closed abruptly in 2019. According to local news sources, the building will be turned into 33 market rate residential units and no commercial units. The modern name of the building will be the Vintage Flats according to a construction sign around the site.

ALT Theatre is an American theater company founded in 2007, that has been noted as a leader of ground-breaking new works in contemporary theatre and dance. The company is dedicated to producing new contemporary-style plays that involve not only the traditional theatre elements, but also elements in media and contemporary dance. Located at 255 Great Arrow Avenue in Buffalo, New York, the ALT Theatre provided an intimate blackbox setting and makes the theatre experience more inviting and accessible. Multiple different performances have taken place at the theatre, including aerial dances.The ALT Theatre's productions have been nominated for multiple Artie awards over the years, winning in 3 categories.

The Pierce-Arrow Motor Car Company was an American motor vehicle manufacturer based in Buffalo, New York, which was active from 1901 to 1938. Although best known for its expensive luxury cars, Pierce-Arrow also manufactured commercial trucks, fire trucks, boats, camp trailers, motorcycles, and bicycles.

Pierce Arrow Factory Complex is a national historic district consisting of the former Pierce-Arrow automobile factory located at Buffalo in Erie County, New York. Located over a 34-acre (14 ha) site, it consists of a three-story, 132,970-square-foot (12,353 m2) Administration Building and an assortment of automobile manufacturing and assembly related structures. The buildings are principally constructed of reinforced concrete, and the Administration Building is considered one of the two earliest fully realized examples of the Daylight Factory industrial architecture style (the other being the Packard 10 Building in Detroit). : p.82  It was designed by Albert Kahn in about 1906 and served as the headquarters and production facility for Pierce-Arrow automobiles until 1938. Since then, the complex has been subdivided over the years to provide affordable space for many small companies and organizations. At one time local department store chain AM&A's operated a furniture warehouse in part of the complex.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

McKinley Vocational High School is a public high school in Buffalo, New York. The school is located at 1500 Elmwood Avenue, and serves about 1200 students from Grades 9 - 12.

The Pan-American Exposition was a World's Fair held in Buffalo, New York, United States, from May 1 through November 2, 1901. The fair occupied 350 acres (0.55 sq mi) of land on the western edge of what is now Delaware Park, extending from Delaware Avenue to Elmwood Avenue and northward to Great Arrow Avenue. It is remembered today primarily for being the location of the assassination of United States President William McKinley at the Temple of Music on September 6, 1901. The exposition was illuminated at night. Thomas A. Edison, Inc. filmed it during the day and a pan of it at night.

Linde Air Products Factory, also known as the Chandler Street Plant, is a historic liquid oxygen factory building in the Black Rock neighborhood of Buffalo, Erie County, New York. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2017.The original two-story section was built in 1907 of solid masonry construction with double-hung wood windows, brick piers, and pitched roofs. Red brick additions were made to the original building through 1948. The present building has a C-shaped plan that is nearly fully enclosed around a center courtyard and measuring approximately 300 feet wide by 275 feet deep. The building housed the first oxygen extraction facility in America and was later dubbed "the birthplace of the oxygen industry in the United States." It also served as the primary research facility for the Linde Air Products Company from 1923 until 1942. The building has been redeveloped as a kombucha brewery, cider works, orthodontic laboratory, loft apartments and utilant llc (insurtech company..

The Temple of Music was a concert hall and auditorium built for the Pan-American Exposition which was held in Buffalo, New York in 1901. United States President William McKinley was assassinated inside the building on September 6, 1901 by Leon Czolgosz. The structure, like most of the other buildings at the exposition, was demolished when the fair ended.

William McKinley, the 25th president of the United States, was shot on the grounds of the Pan-American Exposition at the Temple of Music in Buffalo, New York, on September 6, 1901, six months into his second term. He was shaking hands with the public when anarchist Leon Czolgosz shot him twice in the abdomen. McKinley died on September 14 of gangrene caused by the wounds. He was the third American president to be assassinated, following Abraham Lincoln in 1865 and James A. Garfield in 1881. McKinley enjoyed meeting the public and was reluctant to accept the security available to his office. Secretary to the President George B. Cortelyou feared that an assassination attempt would take place during a visit to the Temple of Music and took it off the schedule twice, but McKinley restored it each time. Czolgosz had lost his job during the economic Panic of 1893 and turned to anarchism, a political philosophy adhered to by recent assassins of foreign leaders. He regarded McKinley as a symbol of oppression and was convinced that it was his duty as an anarchist to kill him. He was unable to get near the president during an earlier visit, but he shot him twice as McKinley reached to shake his hand in the reception line at the temple. One bullet grazed McKinley; the other entered his abdomen and was never found. McKinley initially appeared to be recovering, but he took a turn for the worse on September 13 as his wounds became gangrenous, and he died early the next morning; he was succeeded by his vice president, Theodore Roosevelt. Czolgosz was sentenced to death in the electric chair, and Congress passed legislation to officially charge the Secret Service with the responsibility for protecting the president.

The Buffalo History Museum (founded as the Buffalo Historical Society, and later named the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society) is located at 1 Museum Court (formerly 25 Nottingham Court) in Buffalo, New York, just east of Elmwood Avenue and off of Nottingham Terrace, north of the Scajaquada Expressway, in the northwest corner of Delaware Park.
