Great Falls (Housatonic River)

Falls Village is a village and census-designated place in the town of Canaan in Litchfield County, Connecticut, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 538, out of 1,234 in the entire town of Canaan. Because Falls Village is the town center and principal constituent village in Canaan, the entire town is often referred to as "Falls Village". That usage also avoids confusion of the town with Canaan Village in the town of North Canaan, Connecticut, just to the north. Falls Village derives its name from a waterfall, known as Great Falls, on the Housatonic River within the village.The Falls Village post office is assigned ZIP code 06031, which encompasses the entire town of Canaan.

Wildcat Hollow is a valley in the Appalachian Mountains in rural Litchfield County, Connecticut located on a riverbend of the Housatonic River. It is located about 3 miles west of Salisbury, 2+1⁄2 miles north of Falls Village, 2 miles south of Twin Lakes, and a mile north west of the peak of Mount Prospect. It also has two roads, Wildcat Hollow Road that heads North West up Flink Hill and Housatonic River Road that runs north from Amesville and Falls Village to the south up north to Smith Hill.

The Holabird House is a historic house on Kellog Road in Canaan, Connecticut. Built about 1740, it is one of the town's oldest surviving buildings, and a well-preserved example of Georgian architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Housatonic Valley Regional High School (HVRHS) is a public high school in Falls Village, Connecticut, United States. It was established in 1939 as a result of a special act of the Connecticut General Assembly in 1937. It is the first regional high school in New England.

Lime Rock is a village and historic district (listed as Lime Rock Historic District) in the town of Salisbury, Connecticut, United States, situated on the Salmon Kill. The village center and the historic district are substantially similar. The surrounding area is also generally referred to as Lime Rock.

Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center is a project of Hazon that sits on 400 acres of forest and meadows in the foothills of the southern Berkshires in Litchfield County, Connecticut. Lime Rock Park is a natural-terrain motorsport road racing venue located in Lakeville, Connecticut, United States, a hamlet in the town of Salisbury, in the state's northwest corner. Built in 1956, it is the nation's third oldest continuously operating road racing venue, behind Road America (1955) and Willow Springs International Motorsports Park (1953). The track was owned by Skip Barber from 1984 to April 2021, a former race car driver who started the Skip Barber Racing School in 1975. Now, it is owned by Lime Rock Group, LLC. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

The South Canaan Congregational Church is a historic Congregational church building at Connecticut Route 63 and Barnes Road in the town of Canaan, Connecticut. Built in 1804, it is a remarkably, well-preserved example of early Federal period church architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Salisbury School is an elite all-boys, private college-preparatory boarding school founded in 1901 and located in Salisbury, Connecticut. Its school newspaper is The Cupola. Dean's Ravine Falls is a 50-foot-tall (15 m) waterfall formed along Reed Brook in Canaan, Connecticut. The falls were once a "must-see" spot along the 2,180-mile-long Appalachian Trail, until the trail was rerouted west of the Housatonic River through Sharon, Connecticut in the early 1980s. Today, it can be accessed via The Mohawk Trail from a parking area located at the intersection of Music Mountain Road and Cream Hill Road.
