Lexington National Cemetery

Lexington Cemetery is a private, non-profit 170-acre (69 ha) rural cemetery and arboretum located at 833 W. Main Street, Lexington, Kentucky. The Lexington Cemetery was established in 1848 as a place of beauty and a public cemetery, in part to deal with burials from the cholera epidemic in the area. What became Lexington National Cemetery was established in 1861 to inter American Civil War casualties. It was designed by Charles S. Bell and John Lutz. It was originally 40 acres but has expanded to 170 acres with more than 64,000 interments. Its plantings include boxwood, cherries, crabapples, dogwoods, magnolias, taxus, as well as flowers such as begonias, chrysanthemums, irises, jonquils, lantanas, lilies, and tulips. Also on the grounds is an American basswood (Tilia Americana), which the cemetery claims to be the largest in the world. However, this claim is not supported by the National Register of Big Trees, which claims that the largest American Basswood is located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.

Speigle Heights is a neighborhood just northwest of downtown Lexington, Kentucky, United States. It is sometimes referred to as Irishtown. Its boundaries are Manchester Street to the north, Pine Street to the east, High Street/Versailles Road to the south, and Forbes Road to the west.

Melrose Park is a neighborhood just northwest of downtown Lexington, Kentucky, United States. Its boundaries are Forbes Road to the west, Main Street to the north, CSX railroad tracks to the east, and Manchester Street to the south.

The University of Kentucky Salvation Army Clinic is a free clinic run by medical students in Lexington, Kentucky. Founded in 1986, it is the oldest community service project run through the UK College of Medicine and one of the oldest continuously operational student-run free clinics in the United States. The clinic sees only uninsured adult patients two nights a week, usually without appointments. It is staffed by an administrative leader called the Floor Manager and 3 medical students that act as interviewers. UK and community physicians volunteer their time to make the clinic function. It has a small on-site pharmacy and can provide referrals to other health care services in the Lexington community.

Barrel House Distillery is a small batch distillery located in Lexington, Kentucky, formed in 2008. The distillery produces RockCastle Bourbon, Oak Rum, Pure Blue Vodka and Devil John Dark (aged) Moonshine. Products from the distillery are now available for purchase at Spirit Hub. Their Rock Castle Bourbon is award-winning of the Heartland Spirits Fest.

Crank and Boom Ice Cream is an ice cream lounge that was founded in Lexington, Kentucky. The shop has two locations in Kentucky and 40+ retail partners. Crank and Boom provides multiple flavors of ice cream from all natural ingredients. The small business works in the community to reduce their environmental impact while interacting with local charities.

Town Branch is a Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey brand produced by the Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company of Lexington, Kentucky which is owned by Alltech. Town Branch Distillery is the first distillery to be built in Lexington in more than 100 years.The name "Town Branch" commemorates the body of water that presently runs under Lexington, on which Lexington was founded. The water is important for the distillery because Lexington is a part of the Bluegrass region with limestone-rich land that filters out iron and adds calcium.The distillery houses production for Alltech's four spirits: Town Branch Bourbon, Pearse Lyons Reserve (a single malt whiskey), Town Branch Rye Whiskey, and Bluegrass Sundown (a bourbon-infused coffee drink). Town Branch Distillery was accepted as part of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail in 2012.

Woodward Heights is a neighborhood and historic district located immediately west of downtown Lexington, Kentucky. It is bounded by Maxwell Street and the Pleasant Green Hill neighborhood to the southwest, by the parking lot for Rupp Arena to the southeast, by the Lexington Convention Center property to the northeast, and by Herlihy, Cox, and High Streets to the north.The neighborhood includes one park, Woodward Heights Park, at 651 West High Street in the neighborhood's eastern corner. The neighborhood has a land area of 0.049 square miles (0.13 km2), and as of 2009, a population of 292 people, a population density of 6,002 people per square mile, and a median household income of $34,571. Like all of Lexington, the neighborhood is in the Fayette County Public Schools district. Neighborhood children attend Harrison Elementary School, Lexington Traditional Magnet School (middle school), and Lafayette High School.

James E. Pepper is an American whiskey brand. The brand is named after a historic American whiskey maker with that name who built and operated a distillery in Lexington, Kentucky, and marketed his whiskey under his family's brand name "Old Pepper" and under his own name. The brand's distillery, known as the Henry Clay distillery and later as the Old Pepper distillery and James E. Pepper distillery, was shut down in 1958 and was left abandoned for more than 50 years until Amir Peay (an entrepreneur with no relationship to the prior brand owners) purchased the historic distillery site and relaunched the brand name in 2008. Distilling resumed at the site in 2017.

Mary Todd Lincoln House in Lexington, Kentucky, USA, was the girlhood home of Mary Todd, the future first lady and wife of the 16th President, Abraham Lincoln. Today the fourteen-room house is a museum containing period furniture, portraits, and artifacts from the Todd and Lincoln families. The museum introduces visitors to the complex life of Mary Todd Lincoln, from her refined upbringing in a wealthy, slave-holding family to her reclusive years as a mourning widow.The house was built c. 1803–1806 as an inn and tavern, which was called "The Sign of the Green Tree" before its purchased by Mary's father, Robert Smith Todd, for the Todd family. The family moved into the three-story home in 1832. Mary Todd lived in this home until 1839, when she moved to Springfield, Illinois. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln visited her family here.

The Central Kentucky Blue Grass Seed Co. is an Early Commercial building located at 321 Henry Street in Lexington, Kentucky. The company sold Kentucky blue grass seed. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.Its renovation earned a 2014 Historic Preservation Award from the Blue Grass Trust.An identifier number, "FA-NS-1404", is associated with the property.

Davis Bottom is a neighborhood just southwest of downtown Lexington, Kentucky, United States. Its boundaries are Broadway to the south, Norfolk Southern railroad tracks to the west, High Street to the north, and Maxwell Street to the east. The area is also referred to as Davistown.The area has seen a boon in development in recent years as several abandoned tobacco warehouses have been razed with new condominiums built in their place. The Newtown Pike Extension is being built along the neighborhood's southern tier which has caused the displacement of many of the residents.
