St John the Baptist's Church, East Farndon

East Farndon is a small linear village and civil parish about one mile south of Market Harborough in West Northamptonshire, England. The village is close to the border with Leicestershire, and has a Leicestershire post code and telephone dialling code. At the time of the 2001 census, the parish's population was 258 people, increasing to 307 at the 2011 census.The villages name means 'Ferny hill'.The village is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086. In a field on the west side of the parish is the Judith Stone. This is a glacial erratic, brought from probably hundreds of miles away during an ice age. It is thought to take its name from the Countess Judith, niece of William the Conqueror. She is recorded in the Domesday Book as holding land in the parish, so perhaps the stone marked a boundary of some kind. The church stands at the top of a hill and the village street runs down the hill quite steeply from there towards the town of Market Harborough. The church dates mainly from the 13th and 14th centuries and has a fine tower which can be seen for some miles around. King Charles's army came through the village and occupied the ridge to the south of the church before its defeat at the Battle of Naseby in 1645.

Thorpe Lubenham is a deserted settlement and former civil parish, now in the parish of Marston Trussell, in the West Northamptonshire district, in the ceremonial county of Northamptonshire, England. In 1931 the parish had a population of 33.Thorpe Lubenham lies to the south of the Leicestershire village of Lubenham and south of the River Welland which forms the county boundary. Thorpe Lubenham was formerly an extra-parochial tract, from 1858 Thorpe Lubenham was a civil parish in its own right until it was abolished on 1 April 1935, and merged with Marston Trussell.

The Tower House, formerly known as The Cottage or Lubenham Cottage is a Grade II listed Georgian house in Lubenham, Leicestershire, England. It is situated to the north of the churchyard on Rushes Lane. Originally a farmhouse, it was enlarged by Cubitts in 1865 as a hunting box for Benedict John "Cherry" Angell, with adjoining stables added in 1852. During the enlargement a tower was added to survey nearby horse racing. It became a Grade II listed building on 9 March 1989.

At the time of the 2001 census, the parish's population was 307 people, increasing to 331 at the 2011 Census.The villages name means 'oxen hill'.Its eastern end is on the A508 road from Market Harborough to Northampton but most of the village is at 90° to the main road's north–south direction. The former railway tunnel at Great Oxendon is now open as part of the Brampton Valley Way. Between 1859 and 1960 the village was served by Clipston and Oxendon railway station about one mile south-east of the village and with running trains between Northampton in the south and Market Harborough in the north. Little Oxendon is a deserted medieval village about one mile north of Great Oxendon at grid reference SP730846.

St Helen's Church is an Anglican Church and the parish church of Oxendon. It is a Grade II* listed building and stands on the west side of Harborough Road, to the north of the village of Great Oxendon. There is no reference to a church or priest in the entry for the parish in the Domesday Book, which was compiled in 1086. This may indicate the absence of a church building at that stage or, alternatively, only the absence of a resident priest. The main structure of the present building was erected in the 13th and 14th centuries. Restoration was carried out in the 19th century. The church consists of a nave, north and south aisles, chancel and west tower. The village lies around 4 miles (6.4 km) south-southwest of the town of Market Harborough in the neighbouring county of Leicestershire. Market Harborough Town Hall is an historic building in the High Street in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, England. The building, which originally contained assembly rooms on the upper floors that have subsequently been converted for commercial use, is a Grade II listed building.
