Simpson and Ashland

Simpson is a village in Milton Keynes, England. It was one of the villages of historic Buckinghamshire that was included in the "New City" in 1967. It is located south of the centre, just north of Fenny Stratford. Simpson is now part of the civil parish of Simpson and Ashland, which also includes Ashland and West Ashland.

Milton Keynes South West was a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom from 1992 to 2010. It elected one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election.

Caldecotte Miniature Railway (CMR) is a 3.5, 5 and 7.25 inch miniature railway run by the Milton Keynes Model Engineering Society (MKMES) located in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. It is one of the few miniature railways in the UK which offers rides for passengers who are wheelchair users, with a specially built coach. The railway runs every Sunday between the start of April and the end of October. Steam is often used to provide rides.

Walton Hall is a district in Milton Keynes, in the English county of Buckinghamshire, and is the location of the campus and offices of The Open University. The university campus covers 45 hectares (110 acres) and the first buildings were designed by Maxwell Fry and Jane Drew in 1969.It is in the ancient ecclesiastic and modern civil parish of Walton. In the university campus grounds are the manor house (Walton Hall), which gives the district its name, and the ancient parish church of St Michael, now deconsecrated. The village farm-lands are divided between Walton Hall, the modern Walton, Kents Hill and Walnut Tree. The manor house itself, built in 1830 in the Regency style for the Pinfold family, is home to the vice-chancellor's offices of the Open University.Walton Hall is on the banks of the Ouzel, a tributary of the Great Ouse where Walton Lake, a disused balancing lake, has become naturalised and is home to reeds, bulrushes, reed warbler, reed bunting, water rail, sparrowhawk, kestrel, green woodpecker, grass snake and many varieties of odonata. Surrounding the reedbed are ponds and open water, ancient hedgerows and hay meadow.

Denbigh is a district in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England, to the north of Fenny Stratford and on the eastern side of the West Coast Main Line (and on the opposite side to the rest of Bletchley). It is in the civil parish of Bletchley and Fenny Stratford and is categorised by the Office for National Statistics as part of the Bletchley built-up area. The A5 forms its eastern and northern boundary; parts of Bletcham Way and Saxon St form its southern boundary. The overall district has five sub districts, divided by Watling St/Denbigh Rd, the 'uptick' of Bletcham Way and Grafton Street, and Saxon Street northbound. The district names are planning designations that have persisted without ever being changed to the style "North Denbigh" etc. as is the norm elsewhere in Britain. These lands to the east of Watling Street were originally in the manor of Simpson.

There are also a number of full-time postgraduate research students based on the 45 hectares (110 acres) university campus at Walton Hall, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, where they use the staff facilities for research, as well as more than 1,000 members of academic and research staff and over 2,500 administrative, operational and support staff.The OU was established in 1969 and was initially based at Alexandra Palace, north London, using the television studios and editing facilities which had been vacated by the BBC. The first students enrolled in January 1971. The university administration is now based at Walton Hall]], but has administration centres in other parts of the United Kingdom. It also has a presence in other European countries. The university awards undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, as well as non-degree qualifications such as diplomas and certificates or continuing education units. It also offers unique Open Degrees, in which students may study any combination of modules across all subjects. With more than 208,308 students enrolled, including around 34% of new undergraduates aged under 25 and more than 8,599 overseas students, it is the largest academic institution in the United Kingdom (and one of the largest in Europe) by student number, and qualifies as one of the world's largest universities. Since it was founded, more than 2.3 million students have achieved their learning goals by studying with the Open University. The Open University is one of only two United Kingdom higher education institutions to gain accreditation in the United States of America by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. It also produces more CEOs than any other UK university. Former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown, astrophysicist Jocelyn Bell Burnell, broadcaster Anna Ford and actress Glenda Jackson are among those who have tutored for the OU.

Fenny Stratford is a railway station that serves the Fenny Stratford area of Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. It is on the Marston Vale Line that links Bletchley and Bedford, about one mile (1.7 km) east of Bletchley railway station. This station is one of seven serving the Milton Keynes urban area. The others are Wolverton, Milton Keynes Central, Bletchley, Bow Brickhill, Woburn Sands and Aspley Guise.

The Redway School is an all-age (2–19) state special school for children and young people who experience severe learning difficulties, serving the children of the Borough of Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire, England. It is situated in the Netherfield district of southern Milton Keynes. Ruth Sylvester is the school's second headteacher. She took up her post in September 2005.

The Marshall Arena (formerly known as Arena MK, also Milton Keynes Arena) is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England, located beside Stadium MK. The 3,420 square metres (36,800 sq ft) multi-use event space is positioned over three floors and anticipates music and sporting events, conferences, exhibitions and parties.

Stadium MK is a football ground in the Denbigh district of Bletchley in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England. Designed by Populous and opened in 2007, it is the home ground of EFL League Two side Milton Keynes Dons and FA Women's National League South side Milton Keynes Dons Women. In 2022, the stadium hosted several matches during the UEFA Women's Euro 2022. As of May 2015, the stadium has two tiers which hold a capacity of 30,500. Should it be required, there is the option to increase the capacity of the stadium again to 45,000 with the addition of a third tier, hence the high roof. The design meets UEFA's Elite Stadium specifications and includes a Desso GrassMaster playing surface. The plans of the complex included an indoor arena, Arena MK (now known as The Marshall Arena), that was to be the home of the Milton Keynes Lions professional basketball team. However, the retail developments that would have provided enabling funding were deferred due to lack of financing, leaving the Lions without a home. Following the conclusion of the 2011–12 season, the Lions could not secure a venue within Milton Keynes, resulting in their relocation to London.In addition to association football, the stadium occasionally hosts rugby union. The first such occasion was in May 2008, when Saracens (who at the time groundshared with Watford at Vicarage Road) played Bristol at Stadium MK because Watford needed their ground for a Championship play-off. In 2011, Northampton Saints RFC used the ground for their Heineken Cup quarter and semi-final matches because their home ground is too small for major events. The stadium hosted three matches in the 2015 Rugby World Cup.The stadium also hosts music concerts, with artists including Take That, Rammstein, Rod Stewart, Olly Murs, My Chemical Romance and Imagine Dragons having performed there in recent years.

Walton (historically) was a hamlet that is now a district and civil parish in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England. For local government purposes, it is part of the Danesborough and Walton electoral ward. The historic hamlet is located about four miles south of Central Milton Keynes and just east of Simpson, mostly along Walton Road in the modern Walnut Tree district. The modern H9 Groveway grid road severs a few of its houses into Walton Hall and the V10 Brickhill Street separates the Manor Farm off into the Walton grid square. The Manor Farm has been redeveloped, first into a research centre for Hoechst and subsequently as the UK headquarters of MSD Animal Health.The village name is a common one in England, and is an Old English language word, meaning either 'village of the Britons' (wale being a word meaning Briton) or 'walled village'. The village is first recorded (in the 12th century) as Wauton.The manor house of the village, (Walton Hall) and its chapel of ease, now deconsecrated, are in the campus grounds of The Open University, in the Walton Hall district.

Old Woughton ( WUUF-tən) is a district and civil parish in south central Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England. The parish was established in April 2012 by the division into two parts of Woughton parish. The original (undivided) civil parish was itself originally called "Woughton on the Green".
