Leon River

The Lampasas River ( lam-PASS-əs) is a river in the U.S. state of Texas. The river originates near the city of Hamilton and travels southeast for 75 miles through central Texas to a man-made reservoir called Stillhouse Hollow Lake. The river flows about 100 miles southeast through Lampasas, Burnet, and Bell Counties. It continues for a short distance after the lake to converge with the Leon River to form the Little River (Texas) near Belton. The Lampasas River is the northernmost and westernmost river in the natural range of the American alligator, which is still found there. In June 2015, two men were arrested for shooting and killing an alligator that they found on the river.

Summers Mill, also spelled Sommers Mill, is an unincorporated community in Bell County, in the U.S. state of Texas. According to the Handbook of Texas, only six people lived in the community in 2000. It is located within the Killeen-Temple-Fort Hood metropolitan area.

Little River-Academy is a city in Bell County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,992 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Killeen–Temple–Fort Hood Metropolitan Statistical Area.

KTEM is under ownership of Townsquare Media, through licensee Townsquare Media Killeen-Temple License, LLC. Its studios and transmitter are located separately in Temple.

The Bell County Expo Center is a 6,559-seat multi-purpose arena, in Belton, Texas. It was formerly the home of the Texas Bullets (PIFL), the CenTex Barracudas (IFL), the Central Texas Stampede (WPHL) and the Central Texas Blackhawks (and later Central Texas Marshalls). The arena opened in 1987. In 2017, it was home to the CenTex Cavalry of Champions Indoor Football. The Expo Center also hosts a wide variety of events, including fairs/carnivals, rodeos, concerts, local high school graduations, banquets, Livestock shows, conventions, Booster Clubs and Home and Garden/Craft shows, and is home to the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame.

Belton New Tech High School is a public high school located in Belton, Texas, United States, in the Belton Independent School District. Centered around project-based-learning, the school serves all of BISD, including the city of Belton and Bell County. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.

Temple Mall is a regional shopping mall and trade area located in Temple, Texas. It contains four major department store anchors, and a total of 57 tenants comprising a total of approximately 555,400 square feet of gross leasable area. The anchor stores are Dillard's. Junior anchors are Planet Fitness and Premiere Cinemas. There are 3 vacant anchor store that were once Dillard's,JCPenney,and Steve & Barry's. Premiere Cinemas last day of operation was December 25th, 2022. Temple Mall is one of two regional malls in Bell County, with the other being Killeen Mall, in nearby Killeen, Texas. The Sears anchor store closed and was replaced in 1995 by Foley's. Foley's became Macy's in 2006. Macy's closed in 2016 and Dillard's closed their store across the mall and relocated to the former Macy's space in 2017.On December 17, 2020, it was announced that JCPenney would closing in March 2021 as part of a plan to close 15 stores nationwide. After JCPenney closes, Dillard's will be the only traditional anchor store left. Kohan Retail Investment Group purchased the mall in late October 2021.

The Bell County Courthouse in Belton, Texas was built in 1884.: 38  It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.It is the third courthouse to serve Bell County. The structure was designed in the Renaissance Revival style by Jasper N. Preston and Sons.: 44  It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976, and partially restored in 1999.: 39 It is a three-story building occupying its own block, with each side having an entrance pavilion including a portico of cut-stone columns with carved bases and capitals, and with each corner also having a projecting pavilion. It was built with a central 125 feet (38 m) tower topped by a statue of Goddess of Justice carrying sword and beam balance; the statue was later removed. The building also had detailing made of sheet metal by W.J. Burt and Company of Fort Worth which has also mostly been removed by 1976. That detailing, consisting of galvanized iron and spun zinc, included the roof covered by tin stamped to resemble slate, balustrades around each of the four porticos, and cornices and shell ornaments and window pediments.It is located on Public Square in Belton. J.W. Preston & Son also designed the National Register-listed Bastrop County Courthouse and Jail Complex in Bastrop, Texas.
