Bad Schwartau

Liubice, also known by the German name Alt-Lübeck ("Old Lübeck"), was a medieval West Slavic settlement near the site of modern Lübeck, Germany. Liubice was located at the confluence of the Schwartau with the Trave across from Teerhof Island, approximately four kilometres north of Lübeck's island old town. The residence of Henry, the Christian prince of the Obotrites, Liubice was destroyed after his death by the pagan Rani of Rugia.

Clever Au (German pronunciation: [ˈkleːvɐ ˈaʊ̯] (listen)) is a river of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It flows into the pond Tremser Teich, which is drained by the Trave via the Mühlenbach, near Lübeck.

Fackenburger Landgraben is a small canal in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It was part of the Landwehr (border fortification) of the city of Lübeck.

Burgtor Cemetery or Burgtorfriedhof (Castle Gate Cemetery), originally the Allgemeine Gottesacker, is the successor to other cemeteries in Burgtor, Lübeck suburb of St. Gertrud. It was officially opened in 1834 and today covers an area of around eight hectares and around 8700 burial sites.

Brahms-Institut acquired the largest private collection of Johannes Brahms engravings, manuscripts and first and early prints in 1990. In addition to Brahms, the focus is on Robert and Clara Schumann, Theodor Kirchner, Joseph Joachim, and some lesser known performers and composers of the era. In addition to music manuscripts, the collection also includes correspondence, photos, and drawings.

The European Hansemuseum (German: Europäisches Hansemuseum) is a museum in Lübeck, Germany dedicated to the history of the Hanseatic League. Covering an area of in total 7,405 square metres (79,710 sq ft), is the largest museum in the world specifically dedicated to this subject. The museum was opened in May 2015.

The Burgtor, built 1444 in late Gothic style, was the northern city gate of Hanseatic Lübeck, now in Germany. It is one of two towered gates remaining from the medieval fortifications, the other being the more famous Holstentor.The Baroque helmet-like roof was added in 1685.

The Wakenitz is a river in southeastern Schleswig-Holstein and at the border to Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The Wakenitz's source is the Ratzeburger See in Ratzeburg. It is about 14.5 kilometres (9.0 mi) long and drains into the Trave in Lübeck. The majority of its eastern bank forms the border between Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. After the end of World War II this river formed part of the Iron Curtain between the Federal Republic of Germany and the German Democratic Republic. The Wakenitz drains an area of about 445 km2 (172 sq mi).

Bucu or Buku is a hill island surrounded by the Trave and Wakenitz Rivers in Lübeck, Germany. It is also the name of a medieval Slavic castle, now ruined, on the island. Count Adolf II of Holstein founded Lübeck on the island in 1143. The Burgkloster, or fortified monastery, of Lübeck is located atop the ruins of Bucu. "Bucu" is also the name of a hill.

Ratekau is a municipality in the district of Ostholstein, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is situated approximately 10 km northeast of Lübeck. It is the place where Blücher surrendered after the Battle of Lübeck in 1806. The village is best known for its well preserved fieldstone church St Vicelin of 1156.
