St Joseph's High School Crossmaglen (Irish: Ardscoil Naomh Iosaif, Cros Mhic Lionnain) is a non selective, Catholic co-educational secondary school located in the town of Crossmaglen in the south of County Armagh, Northern Ireland.

Mourne (named after the Múrna) is a barony in County Down, Northern Ireland. It lies in the south-east of the county, with the Irish Sea to its east. It is bordered by two other baronies: Iveagh Upper, Lower Half and Iveagh Upper, Upper Half to the north and west. Called at one time Bairrche its present name of Mourne comes from the Múrna (Old Irish: Mughdorna), a people who hail from a territory of the same name in modern County Monaghan.

Slieve Muck ( SLEEV MUK; from Irish Sliabh Muc, meaning 'pig mountain') is one of the Mourne Mountains in County Down, Northern Ireland. It has a height of 670.4 metres (2,199 ft). The River Bann has its source on the northern slope.Slieve Muck has three summits which are composed of Silurian shale covering the underlying granite. The shale forms an escarpment near the eastern side of the summits. The western slope is grassy and has a number of small streams flowing into the Deer's Meadow below. The eastern slope below the escarpment is made up of stony scree with lighter coloured areas appearing to spell out POV when seen from a distance, local people have used their imagination to complete the word Poverty, which has led to the mountain also being referred to as Poverty Mountain.

The Silent Valley Reservoir is a reservoir located in the Mourne Mountains near Kilkeel, County Down in Northern Ireland. It supplies most of the water for County Down, surrounding counties and most of Belfast. It is owned and maintained by Northern Ireland Water Limited (formerly DRD Water Service). The reservoir was built between 1923 and 1933 by a workforce of over 1,000 men, nine of whom died during construction.

The Mourne Wall (Irish: Balla an Mhúrn) was constructed to enclose a catchment area of the Silent Valley Reservoir in the Mourne Mountains, Northern Ireland. The 1.5 m (4 ft 11 in) high stone wall, which was built to keep livestock from contaminating water supplies, took almost twenty years to complete (1904 to 1922). The project was overseen by the Belfast City and District Water Commissioners.

The Binnian Tunnel (2.5 miles long) was constructed between 1947 and 1950/51 and is located under the Mourne Mountains in County Down, Northern Ireland. The main purpose of the tunnel is to divert water from the Annalong Valley to the Silent Valley Reservoir underneath Slieve Binnian, after which the tunnel was named. A workforce of 150 was involved in two tunnelling teams which started from opposite ends and met in the middle nearly 800m under the roof of the mountain. When the two teams met in the middle on 6 December 1950, they were only inches out. The tunnel was created using drilling and blasting techniques. The shelters for the workers can be found on Slievenaglogh. The tunnel was designed to carry 90 million imperial gallons (410,000 m3) of water per day, be 2.5 miles (4.0 km) long, 7 feet (2.1 m) high and 8 feet (2.4 m) wide. The tunnel was officially opened in August 1952.

An Ríocht GAC is a GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association) Club based in County Down, Northern Ireland. The club provides teams from underage level to adult level in both Gaelic football and camogie. The club is one of 47 in Down GAA. The club is based in the Mournes just outside Kilkeel at Dunavil Road.

Dunnaval (from Irish Dún Abhaill, meaning 'stronghold of the apple-tree') is a small village and townland (of 273 acres) near Kilkeel in County Down, Northern Ireland. It is situated in the civil parish of Kilkeel and the historic barony of Mourne. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 147 people. It lies within the Newry and Mourne District Council area.

Kilkeel High School is a controlled secondary school located in Kilkeel, County Down, Northern Ireland. It is within the Southern Education and Library Board area.

Spelga Reservoir is a reservoir in the townland of Spelga (Irish: Speilgeach, meaning 'abounding in pointed rocks') in the Mourne Mountains of County Down, Northern Ireland. It was formed by the Spelga Dam and sits at over 1,200 ft (370 m) above sea level. It has a volume of 2,700,000 cubic metres and a catchment area of 5.423 km². It occupies an area known as Deers Meadow, and impounds the River Bann, which rises on the nearby Slieve Muck.

The Mourne Mountains ( MORN; Irish: Beanna Boirche), also called the Mournes or the Mountains of Mourne, are a granite mountain range in County Down in the south-east of Northern Ireland. They include the highest mountains in all of Ulster, the highest of which is Slieve Donard at 850 m (2,790 ft). The Mournes are designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and it has been proposed to make the area Northern Ireland's first national park. The area is partly owned by the National Trust and sees many visitors every year. The Mourne Wall crosses fifteen of the summits and was built to enclose the catchment basin of the Silent Valley and Ben Crom reservoirs. The wall, and the area inside it, are owned by Northern Ireland Water.
