The Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy (DMSM) is a large research and teaching division of the University of Cambridge. Since 2013 it has been located in West Cambridge, having previously occupied several buildings on the New Museums Site in the centre of Cambridge. Following the changes to academic titles in 2021/2022 at the University of Cambridge, the academic staff of the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy no longer use the academic titles of Reader and Lecturer. The list below reflects the new academic titles.

The University Museum of Zoology is a museum of the University of Cambridge and part of the research community of the Department of Zoology. The public is welcome and admission is free (2018). The Museum of Zoology is in the David Attenborough Building, formerly known as the Arup Building, on the New Museums Site, just north of Downing Street in central Cambridge, England. The building also provides a home for the Cambridge Conservation Initiative, a biodiversity project. The museum houses an extensive collection of scientifically important zoological material. The collections were designated in 1998 by the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (now managed by the Arts Council England) as being of outstanding historical and international importance.The museum reopened on 23 June 2018 after a major redevelopment for which it had been awarded a grant of £1.8m by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The redevelopment aimed to create a "green" building" and to create displays and new interpretation to engage people with the wonders of animal diversity; create new stores to care for the museum's internationally significant collections to the highest standards and expand the museum's learning programmes, reaching out to wider audiences and increasing online resources.The museum is one of the eight museums of the University of Cambridge Museums consortium.

Corn Exchange Street is a street in central Cambridge, England. It runs between Wheeler Street to the northwest and Downing Street to the southeast. To the northeast, Guildhall Place, a cul-de-sac, runs parallel with Corn Exchange Street at the northern end, an extension of Guildhall Street. On the northwest corner of Corn Exchange Street is the Cambridge Corn Exchange, a music and theatrical venue. To the southwest is the New Museums Site, a site of the University of Cambridge with several museums, such as the Cambridge University Museum of Zoology near the corner with Downing Street. The street acts as the main vehicle access and exit for a large multi-storey car park used by shoppers in central Cambridge.

The University of Cambridge Computing Service provided computing facilities across the University of Cambridge between 1970 and 2014. It was located primarily on the New Museums Site, Free School Lane, in the centre of Cambridge, England but, in September 2013 moved to the Roger Needham Building on the West Cambridge site. The Computing Service shares a common ancestry with the University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory. Founded on 14 May 1937 to provide a computing service for general use, and to be a centre for the development of computational techniques in the University as the Mathematical Laboratory (under the leadership of John Lennard-Jones), it was not until 2001 that the provision of computing services across the University and Colleges was fully separated from computing research and teaching. On 30 March 2014, the Computing Service merged with the Management Information Services Division (MISD) of the Unified Administrative Service (UAS) to create the University Information Services department.

The New Museums Site is a major site of the University of Cambridge, located on Pembroke Street and Free School Lane, sandwiched between Corpus Christi College, Pembroke College and Lion Yard. Its postcode is CB2 3QH. The smaller and older of two university city-centre science sites (the other is the Downing Site), the New Museums Site houses many of the university's science departments and lecture theatres, as well as two museums.

The Corn Exchange is an events and concert venue located on Wheeler Street in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England. The structure, which was commissioned as a corn exchange, is a Grade II listed building.

The building for the Cambridge Medical School of the University of Cambridge was designed in 1899 by Edward Schroeder Prior. Now the Zoological Laboratory, it is a Grade II listed building.The Medical School building is Prior's largest work. Two of Prior's former clients, Dr Allbutt and the Rev. J. B. Lock, were on the committee that appointed the architect. Prior received an honorarium of only 100 guineas for the plans and elevations. He chose to adopt a classical idiom partly as a result of pressure from the committee. The committee also influenced the design in other ways, such as insisting on a stone façade. In style, the building is based on English Baroque, heavily influenced by recent buildings by architects such as Belcher, Pite and Blomfield. It also reflects the presence of J. J. Stevenson's Chemical Laboratories (1886-8), immediately to the west of the site. The Department of Zoology moved in 1933 into the redeveloped building. The architect was John Murray Easton. The former Humphry Museum was entirely reconstructed within, and today houses the Balfour and Newton Libraries.

The Cambridge University Catholic Chaplaincy, known as Fisher House after its patron, English martyr and Cambridge chancellor St John Fisher, is the Catholic chaplaincy for members of the University of Cambridge in England. Founded in 1896, since 1924 it has been located on the site of a former inn on Guildhall Street in Cambridge's city centre. The present Chaplain is Fr Paul Keane.

The Cambridgeshire Collection is a UK local government institution and part of the Cambridgeshire County Council, Cambridgeshire Libraries Local Studies service. It is housed within Cambridge Central Library It collects printed, published and illustrative material relating to the modern county of Cambridgeshire, which includes the former counties of Huntingdonshire and the Isle of Ely. Founded as part of the Free Library in 1855, it is the county's reference Local Studies collection. In 1975 it moved into Lion Yard, Cambridge where it is located on the third floor of Cambridge Central Library. The Cambridgeshire Collection is a reference collection of mainly secondary (printed and published) material; primary documents (original, manuscript) being held in the County Archives at Ely and Huntingdon. Formerly, the service was part of the Cambridgeshire Archives and Local Studies, before these were split, with the archives eventually moving to their new home in 2019.The Collection is of use to family, local and social historians.

Wheeler Street is a street in central Cambridge, England. It runs between Bene't Street to the southwest and Guildhall Street and Corn Exchange Street to the northeast. To the east, Guildhall Place, a cul-de-sac, runs southeast from the junction with Guildhall Street, parallel with Corn Exchange Street at its northwestern end, as an extension of Guildhall Street. On the northeast end of Wheeler Street, on the corner with Corn Exchange Street is the Cambridge Corn Exchange, a music and theatrical venue. To the south is the New Museums Site, a site of the University of Cambridge with university museums, including the Whipple Museum of the History of Science on Free School Lane and the Cambridge University Museum of Zoology on Downing Street. The Cambridge Guildhall and Market Square are to the north, reached via Peas Hill and Guildhall Street. The Lion Yard shopping centre is to the northeast. The Cambridge Tourist Information Centre is located in Wheeler Street. The building dates from 1884 and was designed by the architect G. MacDonell. It was once the main city library, but this moved into Lion Yard in 1975. The building has a small but attractive domed reading room. Other buildings have been erected around this and the Guildhall, which means they are now partially hidden. Wheeler Street gives its name to the song "Snowed in At Wheeler Street", the 2011 duet between Kate Bush and Sir Elton John.

The Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, also known as MAA, at the University of Cambridge houses the university's collections of local antiquities, together with archaeological and ethnographic artefacts from around the world. The museum is located on the university's Downing Site, on the corner of Downing Street and Tennis Court Road. In 2013 it reopened following a major refurbishment of the exhibition galleries, with a new public entrance directly on to Downing Street.The museum is part of the University of Cambridge Museums consortium.

The Lion Yard shopping centre is a covered shopping centre in the city centre of Cambridge, England. Construction work on the centre, which is bounded by St Andrew's Street, Corn Exchange Street, and Petty Cury, commenced in 1970 and the development contained a library, multi-storey car park and magistrates' court. It predates and is significantly smaller than either the Grafton Centre or the Grand Arcade. The latter connects directly to Lion Yard. The Grafton Centre is situated just outside the city centre, however it has large shops such as Debenhams which the Lion Yard does not have, due to its confined location. For many years a central feature of the atrium was a white pillar with the statue of a large red lion on the top of it, safely out of easy reach. This recalled the Red Lion pub which had occupied the site until demolished in 1969. The lion statue was removed in 1999 and is now at the Cambridge University rugby club's ground on Grange Road. A red lion is an emblem of the University of Cambridge and the crest of its rugby club. Lion Yard was refurbished in the late 1990s/early 2000s. A recently constructed covered mall, the Grand Arcade mentioned above, adjoins Lion Yard on its south side; the two are interconnected. The main shopping mall is centred around an atrium which benefits from four entrances and exits. The retail element is concentrated on the ground floor; however, the Central Library can be accessed from the first floor of Lion Yard along with retailers Ellis Brigham, The North Face and New Look. The Centre consists of a three-storey office block (Lion House and St George House), an undercover external colonnade taking up one half of Petty Cury, external shops opposite St Andrew the Great Church, many high street retailers internally along with housing the seventh busiest library in the UK.
