KVCR (FM)

KVCR-DT (channel 24) is a PBS member television station in San Bernardino, California, United States. It is owned by the San Bernardino Community College District alongside NPR member KVCR (91.9 FM). The two stations share studios at the San Bernardino Valley College campus on North Mt. Vernon Avenue in San Bernardino; KVCR-DT's transmitter is located atop Box Springs Mountain. KVCR is Southern California's oldest operating public television station, beginning broadcasts in September 1962. As public stations signed on in the Los Angeles area, KVCR continued to provide local programming for the Inland Empire as well as telecourses from San Bernardino Valley College and instructional content for schools. The station had a limited broadcast range until it moved its transmitter to Box Springs Mountain in 1983. In the 2000s, KVCR replaced KOCE as the public television station broadcast into the Coachella Valley, including Palm Springs; it continues to operate a translator and provide a dedicated subchannel, KVCR PBS Desert Cities, for this area. KVCR is also the founding station for the First Nations Experience network, which was started in 2010 with a gift from the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians. State government support in the early 2020s forestalled a cost-cutting plan which would have seen the KVCR stations switch from public media to student-run outlets. KVCR produces local programming for the Inland Empire.

KUCR is a non-commercial radio station at the University of California, Riverside, in Riverside, California, United States, broadcasting on 88.3 FM. KUCR airs college radio programming similar to other college radio stations across the country. KUCR now includes in its program the rapidly expanding "Philosophy Talk" broadcast by Stanford University philosophy professors Ken Taylor and John Perry).

KOLA (99.9 FM) is a commercial radio station licensed to San Bernardino, California, and broadcasting to the Riverside-San Bernardino-Inland Empire radio market. It is owned by the Anaheim Broadcasting Corporation and it airs a classic hits radio format. Its studios are on Orange Tree Lane in Redlands, California. KOLA has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 29,500 watts. Adding in its tower that is taller than the Empire State Building, KOLA is considered a "superpower" FM station. The transmitter is on Box Spring Mountain Road amid other FM and TV towers for Inland Empire stations.

Box Springs Mountain is the highest peak in the Box Springs Mountains range, standing 3,083 ft (940 m) tall. The mountain is in northwestern Riverside County, Southern California.

The Box Spring is a spring in Riverside County, California, around which grew the town of Box Springs. It is in the Moreno Valley, five miles (8.0 km) east-southeast of downtown Riverside on Interstate 215/State Route 60 (the Moreno Valley Freeway). Box Springs is named on the 7.5 quadrangle map, Riverside East (1967).

Jeffrey Russell "Jeff" Hall was a plumber in Riverside, California, and the regional leader of the National Socialist Movement (Nazi Party). On May 1, 2011, he was shot to death with his own gun by his 10-year-old son Joseph. The murder took place at 4 a.m. as Hall slept on his couch.Hall was a neo-Nazi who believed in fighting for an all-white society and had said that he would die for the cause.According to the boy, the motive for the murder was that he was tired of his father hitting him and his stepmother.On September 25, 2011, the story of the murder was broadcast on 60 Minutes. In 2013, when Joseph was 13, he was sentenced to 10 years in a California juvenile facility.

Canyon Springs High School is a public high school located in Moreno Valley, California. Founded in 1987, it is part of the Moreno Valley Unified School District. In early 2019, The Moreno Valley Unified School district began to prepare plans to modernize the facilities at Canyon Springs. This modernization would be a step in the Measure M plan. The modernization is separated into four Phases. Phase I includes a 2-Story Classroom building with 8 Science Classrooms and 16 standard classrooms. A multi-purpose room will include a replacement kitchen and a new music room. Phase II includes new solar panels in the parking lots for anyone at Canyon Springs, and the modernization of the Administration building and the classrooms in Building A. Phase III includes the modernization of the Cougar Canyon Gymnasium as well as existing classrooms and science labs on the facility. Phase IV includes the modernization of the library as well as the removal of portables.

Pigeon Pass Valley, is a valley in Riverside County, California. Its mouth lies at an elevation of 1,696 feet/517 meters above Poorman Reservoir. Its head lies on the south slope of the northwest extreme of the ridge of Reche Summit mountain at 33°59′53″N 117°16′09″W, northeast of Pigeon Pass.

The Moreno Valley Mall at Towngate is a shopping mall located on the former site of the Riverside International Raceway in Moreno Valley, California.Developed by Homart Development Company, the initial anchor stores in 1992 were Sears, J. C. Penney, May Company California, and Harris Department Stores and had 140 specialty stores.In the early years competition for tenants divided prospects between competing developers. In September 1996 the City confirmed that lower than anticipated revenues would result in a shortfall estimated to extend the payback period of the $13 million infrastructure loan to an estimated 2026 with the loan peaking at $19.5 million. Also, the mall was then valued at $66 million, far less than its original valuation of $107 million.Moreno Valley Mall directly contracts with the local Police Service as well as private security firm for security services.In 2015, Sears Holdings spun off 235 of its properties, including the Sears at Moreno Valley Mall, into Seritage Growth Properties.International Growth Properties purchased Moreno Valley Mall in November 2017 for $63 million.On November 7, 2019, it was announced that Sears would be closing this location a part of a plan to close 96 stores nationwide. The store closed on February 2, 2020.

Belvedere Heights is a former unincorporated community now annexed to Riverside, California, in Riverside County, California. It lies at an elevation of 1237 feet (377 m). Belvedere Heights is located 3.5 miles (5.6 km) east of downtown Riverside.

The U.S. Salinity Laboratory is a National Laboratory for research on salt-affected soil-plant-water systems. It resorts under the Agricultural Research Service (ARS) of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and is located in Riverside, California, U.S.A. The mission of its staff is to develop, amongst other, new knowledge and technology for crop production on salt-affected lands.

Riverside International Raceway (sometimes known as Riverside, RIR, or Riverside Raceway) was a motorsports race track and road course established in the Edgemont area of Riverside County, California, just east of the city limits of Riverside and 50 mi (80 km) east of Los Angeles, in 1957. In 1984, the raceway became part of the newly incorporated city of Moreno Valley. Riverside was noted for its hot, dusty environment, which was a dangerous challenge for drivers. It was also considered one of the finest tracks in the United States. The track was in operation from September 22, 1957, to July 2, 1989, with the last race, The Budweiser 400, won by Rusty Wallace, held in 1988. After that final race, a shortened version of the circuit was kept open for car clubs and special events until 1989.
