RAF Fairford

Castle Eaton is a village and civil parish in the ceremonial county of Wiltshire, England, on the River Thames about 4 miles (6.4 km) northwest of Highworth. It was historically in the area governed by the (former) Wiltshire County Council, but since 1997 has been part of the Borough of Swindon. The Thames at Castle Eaton forms both the northern boundary of the parish and the county boundary with Gloucestershire. The village is characterised by its older buildings, most of which are in The Street, the original main thoroughfare. Built of local stone, they give Castle Eaton the look of a traditional Cotswold village. Many of the buildings date from about 1650 to 1850, and most of the village is a Conservation Area.

Castle Eaton Bridge is a road bridge across the River Thames in England at Castle Eaton in Wiltshire. It carries a minor road between Cricklade, 4 miles to the southwest, and Kempsford 11⁄2 miles to the east. The iron girder bridge with brick piers was built in 1893 with materials supplied by iron founders E Finch & Sons of Chepstow. It was described by Fred Thacker in 1920 "The present deplorable iron trough ... The Conservancy is often blamed for its hideousness; their responsibility amounts only to acquiescence; I understand the Swindon District Board was the actual artist". It was strengthened in 2001. The bridge it replaced was of timber with stone piers and stone causeway.

Kempsford is a village and civil parish in Gloucestershire, England, about 2.5 miles (4 km) south of Fairford. RAF Fairford is immediately north of the village. The parish, which includes the hamlets of Whelford, Horcott, and Dunfield, had a population around 1,120 at the 2011 census.

The parish includes the hamlet of Marston Hill. Marston Maisey is the spelling for the civil parish, but not for the village on Ordnance Survey maps. The village has a pub called the Old Spotted Cow, and not far away is RAF Fairford. The nearest major town is Swindon.

St Mary's Church is a Church of England church in Fairford, Gloucestershire, England. It is notable for its complete set of 28 medieval stained-glass windows, one of the best-preserved in England. Part of the tower dates from the early 15th century. The church was rebuilt at the end of the 15th century by John Tame (c.1430–1500), a wealthy local wool merchant. It is a Grade I listed building in the Perpendicular style.

Fairford Park is a 4,200-acre (1,700 ha) estate in the southern Cotswolds in Gloucestershire, England, close to the small town of Fairford. Purchased by Ernest Cook from the Barker family in 1945, the former stables and coach house of Fairford Park House are used as the headquarters of the Ernest Cook Trust, which now owns the estate. At the time of its sale, the estate occupied about 2,500 acres (1,000 ha), but it has since been added to by the purchase of surrounding farms: Court Farm in 1966, Hooks Farm at Southrop Airfield in 1967, Homeleaze Farm in 1975, and Donkeywell Farm in 1982.The estate comprises five let farms, mainly arable with some grazing along the valley of the River Coln, and about 260 acres (110 ha) of woodland. During the Second World War, the 17th-century Fairford Park House was used as an American military hospital, and until 1959 Polish refugees were housed in a camp in the park. The manor house was demolished in the 1950s, and its site is now occupied by Farmor's Comprehensive School.

Fairford Town Football Club is a football club based in Fairford, Gloucestershire, England. Affiliated to the Gloucestershire County Football Association, they are currently members of the Hellenic League Premier Division and play at Cinder Lane.

Whelford is a village in the civil parish of Kempsford, in the Cotswold district, in the county of Gloucestershire, England. Whelford lies in the Cotswold hills on the River Coln, 2 miles (3.2 km) south east of Fairford. In 1864, a chapel of ease was constructed in the Early English architectural style. In 1870-72 it had a population of 178.

Farmor's School is a secondary school with academy status in Fairford, Gloucestershire. Including the Sixth Form, the school currently has about 1,000 students on roll. After receiving an inspection from Ofsted in 2017, the school was given a 'Requires Improvement' classification. The 6th Form also received the same classification.The school is aided by the Elizabeth Farmor Trust, founded in 2008. The trust assists the school by "advancing the education of the pupils at the school". For example, in 2011, the trust helped fund new computer hardware for the school.

Whelford Meadow (grid reference SP168000) is a 1.86-hectare (4.6-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Gloucestershire, England, notified in 1985.
