St Bartholomew's Church, Winchester

Hyde Abbey was a medieval Benedictine monastery just outside the walls of Winchester, Hampshire, England. It was dissolved and demolished in 1538 following various acts passed under King Henry VIII to dissolve monasteries and abbeys (see Dissolution of the Monasteries). The Abbey was once known to have housed the remains of King Alfred the Great, his son, King Edward the Elder, and his wife, Ealhswith. Following its dissolution these remains were lost; however, excavations of the Abbey and the surrounding area continue.

St Peter's Church is a Roman Catholic church in Winchester, England. It was built in 1924 and designed by Frederick Walters in the Gothic revival style. It is situated on Jewry Street, backing onto St Peter's Street, next to Milner Hall, in the centre of Winchester. It is a Grade II listed building.

Osborne School is a community special school in Winchester, England. The school has 16 classes in the main school. The residential unit, which had 2 classes for pupils aged 16 and over, was converted in 2016 to a day service with a total of 7 classrooms and a light and sound room. Each class has up to 12 pupils and has support from at least 1 Learning Support Assistant, in addition to the class teacher. The school receives support from a speech and language therapy service and an occupational therapy service. The school also uses a music therapist and physiotherapy. It has a specialised unit for pupils on the autistic spectrum.

Winchester United Church (originally Winchester Congregational Church and later Winchester United Reformed Church) is a joint United Reformed and Methodist church in the centre of the city of Winchester in the English county of Hampshire. Built between 1852 and 1853 to the Gothic Revival design of architects Poulton and Woodman for a congregation which had its origins nearly 200 years earlier, it is "incongruously set within the northern part of the former county jail", which had recently moved to a new site. Since 1974 the congregation has been a joint United Reformed and Methodist one, as the city's two Methodist chapels closed, the congregations merged and worship was concentrated on the one site. Historic England has designated the church a Grade II listed building for its architectural and historical importance.

Abbotts Barton is a suburb of Winchester in Hampshire, England. The settlement is located approximately 0.8 miles (1.3 km) north-east of the city centre. In 1887, John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles described Abbots Barton as: Abbots Barton, seat, near Winchester, Hants.

Peter Symonds College is a sixth form college in Winchester, Hampshire, in the south of England. Founded as a boys' grammar school, it is one of the few specialist sixth form colleges which is also a boarding school. It serves Falkland Islands residents for sixth form.

Winchester railway station is a railway station in Winchester in the county of Hampshire, England. It is on the South West Main Line and was known as Winchester City from 1949–67 to distinguish it from Winchester (Chesil) station. It is 66 miles 39 chains (107.0 km) down the line from London Waterloo. Despite its prominence (most passenger trains stop here), the station only has two platforms. One is on the western side, with the line running in a northerly direction via Basingstoke, Woking and Clapham Junction, towards the terminal at Waterloo. The other is on the eastern side, with the line running in a southerly direction, towards Eastleigh, where it splits and runs towards Southampton Central, Bournemouth and Weymouth or Portsmouth Harbour.
