Holme St Cuthbert (occasionally Holme St Cuthberts; pronounced and occasionally written Holme Saint Cuthbert) is a small village and civil parish in the county of Cumbria, United Kingdom. The village is located approximately 23 miles to the south-west of Carlisle, Cumbria's county town, and was historically in the county of Cumberland.

Holme St. Cuthbert School is a primary school which serves the civil parish of Holme St. Cuthbert in the county of Cumbria, United Kingdom. It is located approximately one-and-a-quarter miles north-east of the village of Mawbray, the largest settlement in the parish, and twenty-three miles south-west of the city of Carlisle, Cumbria's county town. As of the 2018-19 academic year, there were sixty-two pupils enrolled in the school. This is just short of the school's capacity of sixty-six pupils. The current headteacher is Mrs Lynn Carini, who took over from Mrs Sheila Daniel in 2014.

Goodyhills is a hamlet in the civil parish of Holme St Cuthbert, in northern Cumbria, United Kingdom. It is located 1.5 miles east of the village of Mawbray, and 23 miles west of the city of Carlisle. A quarter of a mile to the north-west is the parish seat of Holme St Cuthbert, where the local primary school and parish church are located, and half a mile to the south-east is the small hamlet of Jericho. At nearby Newtown, there is a farm park and tea room called the Gincase. Goodyhills has no nearby public transport links; the closest railway station is at Aspatria, and the closest stop on a regular bus service is on the B5300 coast road at Mawbray. Noted English academic William Wilson was born in Goodyhills in 1875, and attended the nearby Holme St. Cuthbert primary school. He attained his PhD at Leipzig University in Germany in 1902, and went on to become a lecturer at King's College, London. He became a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1923, and ended his career at Bedford College, London in 1944.

Edderside is a hamlet in the civil parish of Holme St. Cuthbert in Cumbria, United Kingdom. It is located approximately one mile as the crow files to the south-east of Mawbray, or two-and-a-half miles by road, and a similar distance east of Salta, and north-east of Allonby. The small hamlet of Jericho is located less than a mile to the north-east. Approximately 23 miles to the north-east is the city of Carlisle. Allonby Bay, an inlet of the Solway Firth, is one-and-a-half miles to the south-west, as is the B5300 coast road which runs between Silloth-on-Solway, six-and-a-half miles to the north, and Maryport, six miles to the south. Notable landmarks in the area include Edderside Hall and the church at Holme St. Cuthbert. Excavations of a cropmark enclosure at Edderside were conducted in 1989–1990 by Robert H. Bewley.

Jericho is a small settlement in the civil parish of Holme St. Cuthbert in Cumbria, United Kingdom. It is located 2 miles east of the village of Mawbray, and 21.5 miles south-west of the city of Carlisle. It was presumably named for the Biblical city of Jericho, today located in the Palestinian territories. The settlement appears in birth, marriage, and death registrations from as early as the mid-19th century, and so certainly existed by that time. It is also mentioned as the residence of the Salony family, who had a child (Mary) baptised in St Bees Priory Church in December 1773. Jericho consists of only a single farmhouse, and perhaps due to its particularly small size there is not a great deal of historical information about the settlement. It is not even named on contemporary mapping projects such as Google Maps. Nearby is the Overby sand quarry, where Thomas Armstrong Ltd. extracts sand from a large deposit left behind after the last ice age. Work has been ongoing at the quarry, and other surrounding satellite quarries, for the past fifty years. Jericho is located at a staggered crossroads, where single-lane roads lead north-east in the direction of Tarns, east toward Aikshaw and the Overby sand quarry, south-west to Edderside and the coast, and north-west to Holme St. Cuthbert via Goodyhills. The settlement has no public transportation links; the closest regular bus stop is on the B5300 coast road, 2.5 miles to the south-west.

The Black Dub is a stream in Cumbria, United Kingdom. It rises to the west of the village of Langrigg, in the civil parish of Bromfield, where it is known as Dub Stangs, and flows west past Scroggs Wood and the village of Westnewton. As it passes near the hamlets of New Cowper and Edderside it forms the southern boundary of the civil parish of Holme St. Cuthbert, and the northern boundary of the civil parish of Allonby, before entering the Solway Firth at Dubmill, at the northern end of Allonby Bay. It is seven miles (eleven kilometres) in length. The stream appears in the historical record. In 1860, it was mentioned in the London Gazette, as the midpoint of the stream was to become the boundary between the townships of Langrigg and Mealrigg, and Westnewton. In 1969, an overflow channel was dug between the Black Dub and nearby Cross Beck, near the mouth of the streams. This was done by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food under the Water Resources Act 1963. It is classified as a "water feature" by Ordnance Survey. Numerous smaller irrigation channels serve as tributaries to the Black Dub, with the vast majority being within the civil parish of Holme St. Cuthbert. Its largest tributary is Jordan Beck, which rises near Jericho and flows through Plasketlands farm, Mawbray, and Salta, joining the Black Dub mere metres before it meets the sea.

Newtown is a hamlet in the civil parish of Holme St Cuthbert in Cumbria, United Kingdom. It is located approximately two miles north-east of the village of Mawbray, a little over half-a-mile as the crow flies to the south-east of Beckfoot, and twenty-five miles west of the city of Carlisle. The B5300 coast road runs approximately three-quarters of a mile to the west of the hamlet, which goes to Maryport, nine-and-a-quarter miles to the south-west, and Silloth-on-Solway, approximately four miles to the north.

It is situated approximately a quarter-of-a-mile south-west of Newtown, one mile north-west of the hamlet of Holme St. Cuthbert, and one-and-a-half miles north-east of Mawbray. Nearby settlements include Goodyhills, located one-and-a-quarter miles to the south-east, Hailforth, one-and-three-quarter miles to the south-east, and Beckfoot, one-and-a-half miles to the north. Solfest is a music and arts festival on the Solway Coast in the North West of England. It is held annually at North Lakes Country Park on the August Bank Holiday weekend. It has grown from a 1,800 capacity event in 2004 to a 10,000 capacity festival. Originally, the 2019 edition of Solfest was going be the last, but due to new directors taking control of the festival and the turnout of the 2019 event being much higher than anticipated, Solfest will return in 2020.

Tarns is a small farming settlement in the civil parish of Holme St. Cuthbert in Cumbria, United Kingdom. It is located two miles north-east of the village of Mawbray, and twenty-three miles south-west of Carlisle, Cumbria's county town. The B5301 road runs through the settlement, and along that road the town of Silloth-on-Solway is located five-and-a-half miles to the north, and Aspatria four-and-a-half miles to the south-east. Other nearby settlements include Aikshaw, Goodyhills, Jericho, and New Cowper.

Hailforth is a small hamlet in the civil parish of Holme St. Cuthbert, in Cumbria, United Kingdom. It is located approximately half a mile south-west of the village of Mawbray, and a similar distance north-east of Salta. Carlisle, Cumbria's county town, is situated twenty-five miles to the north-east. The hamlet consists of four houses, and is situated on the road which runs from Mawbray to the coast, where it joins the B5300 at Dubmill, three-quarters of a mile to the south-west.

New Cowper (pronounced and occasionally written New Cooper) is a small hamlet in the civil parish of Holme St. Cuthbert in Cumbria, United Kingdom. It is located three-and-a-half miles south-east of the village of Mawbray, one-and-a-half miles north-west of Westnewton, and twenty-one-and-a-half miles south-west of Carlisle, Cumbria's county town.
