Point Historic District (Logansport, Indiana)

Bankers Row Historic District is a national historic district located at Logansport, Cass County, Indiana. The district encompasses 20 contributing houses in a residential section of Logansport. It developed between about 1875 and 1925 and includes notable examples of Queen Anne and Italianate style architecture. Bankers Row gains significance because it is associated with the growth and development of Logansport. The town gained commercial success in 1840 with the Wabash & Erie Canal, and then in the 1850s, when the first railroad came through town. The name "Bankers Row" was given to these homes by locals in the 1960s because of its association in the earlier part of the century, with men in the field of finance and banking.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

The district encompasses 79 contributing buildings and one contributing site in the central business district of Logansport. It has a mix of institutional, governmental, and commercial buildings and notable examples of Late Victorian and Romanesque Revival style architecture. Notable contributing resources include the Masonic Hall (1896), Elks Lodge No. 66 (1907), Douglass Building (c. 1915), McCaffey Building (c. 1880), Logansport-Cass County Public Library (1942), The State Theater (c. 1930), United States Post Office (1925), Bank Building (c. 1870), and Watts Building (1901).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

The Eel River is a 94-mile-long (151 km) tributary of the Wabash River in northern Indiana in the United States. Via the Wabash and Ohio rivers, its waters flow to the Mississippi River and ultimately the Gulf of Mexico. The Eel River rises southeast of Huntertown in Allen County and flows southwest through Allen, Whitley, Kosciusko, Wabash, Miami, and Cass counties to join the Wabash at Logansport. The river was called Kineepikwameekwa Siipiiwi - "river of the snake fish" by the Miami people, who inhabited the area at the time of European contact, the English rendered it as Ke-na-po-co-mo-co. It is the northern of the two rivers named Eel River within Indiana.

The Pollard-Nelson House is a historic home in Logansport, Cass County, Indiana. It was built in 1845 and enlarged in 1889 and 1910. It is a two-story, seven-bay, Greek Revival style brick dwelling with flanking two-story wings and rear additions. It has a gable roof and features a two-story, projecting front portico supported by Doric order columns.: 2 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

Kendrick-Baldwin House, also known as the Cass County Memorial Home, is a historic home located at Logansport, Cass County, Indiana. It was built in 1860, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, "T"-plan, Italianate style brick dwelling. It has a two-story brick addition erected about 1922. It features a full-width, one-story front porch supported by Doric order limestone columns and added between 1920 and 1922, when the building was renovated for use as a veteran's home.: 2, 4 The house was built in 1860 by a local carpenter, George Bevan, for Stuart B. Kendrick, a wealthy local banker originally from New York. The house was constructed as a copy of a home known as "The Castle" on the Hudson River. Following the failure of Kendrick's bank in 1865, he sold the home to a local Presbyterian academy. It was used as school until 1875, when it became a boarding house. In the late 1870s, Daniel P. Baldwin (a judge who would later serve as Indiana Attorney General from 1880-1882) purchased the home, living there until his death in 1908. Baldwin's niece later sold the home in 1920 to a local American Legion post, Cass County Post 60. Funding for the building's 1920-1922 addition came from legislation passed which allowed for the appropriation of money for the constructions of buildings dedicated to veterans of the First World War. Since 1922, the building has been used for meetings by local organizations.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Ferguson House, also known as the Dr. Robert A. Brewer House, is a historic home located at Logansport, Cass County, Indiana. It was erected about 1895, and is a three-story, Romanesque Revival style brick dwelling sheathed in Indiana limestone. It features projecting bays and a 2+1⁄2-story round tower with conical roof, a one-story porch supported by Doric order columns, and a steeply pitched roof.: 2 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Washington School was a historic school building located at Logansport, Cass County, Indiana. It was built in 1899, and was a two-story, square, Richardsonian Romanesque style building of yellow brick with limestone trim. It featured a round arch entrance, projecting bays, and a limestone portico supported by paired Ionic order columns on the second story. A gymnasium addition was erected in the late-1950s.: 2 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981 and delisted in 1985.

Willard B. Place House is a historic home located at Logansport, Cass County, Indiana. It was built about 1889, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, Queen Anne style brick dwelling. It has a hipped roof with multiple cross gables, a conical roofed corner turret, and one-story wraparound porch. Also on the property are an attached garage (c. 1920), carriage house (c. 1889), and brick wall.: 5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

Jerolaman-Long House, also known as the Long Home Museum & Cabin, is a historic home located at 1004 E. Market Street, Logansport, Cass County, Indiana. It was built about 1853, and is a two-story, three-bay, Italianate style brick dwelling. It has a two-story brick rear ell added about 1890. Both sections have low hipped roofs and sit on raised ashlar foundations. The building has housed a Cass County Historical Society Museum since 1963.: 2, 4 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
