Chugiak () is an unincorporated community in the Municipality of Anchorage in the U.S. state of Alaska, situated approximately 20 miles (32 km) northeast of downtown Anchorage.

Chugiak High School is a public high school located in Chugiak, Anchorage, Alaska, and a part of the Anchorage School District. Chugiak's mascot is the Mustang and the school colors are blue, black, and white. In 2005, Chugiak's student population was split as half their students went to the new Eagle River High School. As of 2020, it has a student enrollment of 905 and 47 teachers.

KYKA (104.9 FM) is a radio station serving the Anchorage, Alaska, area. The station is currently owned by the Educational Media Foundation. KMVV was the eleventh station in the United States to adopt the Alan Burns-consulted MOViN' Rhythmic Adult Contemporary format. In November 2011, the station dropped the Rhythmic AC format and began stunting with Christmas music as "Rudolph Radio". The rhythmic AC format returned briefly on December 31, but then the station went off the air at midnight on January 1, 2012. KYKA was sold to Educational Media Foundation in December 2012, and the station adopted the Air1 worship music format. On March 11, 2013, KMVV changed their call letters to KYKA.

The Spring Creek Lodge is a historic former restaurant at 18389 Old Glenn Highway in the Chugiak area of Anchorage, Alaska. Vernon and Alma Haik built the Spring Creek Lodge in 1949. It served as an essential eatery and community center in southcentral Alaska from 1949 to 1974. The lodge was famous for its homemade bread and banana cream pies, and it was the place to go for a hearty Sunday dinner. For 25 years, the lodge served homesteaders, hunters from the Matanuska Valley, and military personnel from the Elmendorf Air Force Base and Fort Richardson in Anchorage. The lodge stands at Mile 20 on the two-lane Palmer Highway (now called Old Glenn Highway) halfway between Palmer and Anchorage. It also served as the first community center for the early settlers of Chugiak. On September 9, 2001, the Spring Creek Lodge was inducted to the National Register of Historic Places "in recognition of its contributions to the cultural heritage of Alaska." The restaurant was a local landmark until its location was bypassed by the new Glenn Highway in 1969, after which it closed.

KFAT (92.9 MHz, "K-Fat") is a Rhythmic CHR-formatted FM radio station in Anchorage, Alaska, United States. The station is currently owned by Ohana Media Group. Its studios are located in Downtown Anchorage and its transmitter is in Eagle River, Alaska. Home to "Alaska's Hottest Hits", KFAT is one of the highest-rated radio stations in Alaska.The station was assigned the call letters KWQJ on October 3, 1990. On February 7, 1997, the station changed its call sign to the current KFAT.

KZND-FM (94.7 FM, "94/7 Alternative Anchorage”) is a commercial radio station located in Houston, Alaska, broadcasting to the Anchorage, Alaska, area. KZND airs an Alternative rock format. It is locally owned by Last Frontier Mediactive. Its studios are located on Business Park Boulevard in midtown Anchorage, and its transmitter is located in Eagle River, Alaska.

KMVN (105.7 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station in Anchorage, Alaska. It airs a rhythmic adult contemporary radio format and is owned by Last Frontier Mediactive, Inc., headed by Robert and Tor Ingstad. In morning drive time, it carries the syndicated Brooke & Jeffrey Show, hosted by Brooke Fox and Jeffrey Dubow, from KQMV Seattle. KMVN's studios are on Business Park Boulevard in Anchorage. KMVN is a Class C1 FM station with an effective radiated power (ERP) of 31,000 watts. The transmitter is on Golden Eagle Drive in Eagle River, Alaska.

KRUA (88.1 FM) is a non-commercial educational college radio station in Anchorage, Alaska. The station is operated by students at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) and is the only student-run station in Anchorage. UAA students can tune in to KRUA each day to hear about new opportunities on their campus. From the main studios on UAA's campus to the transmitter in Eagle River, the radio station reaches a significant portion of Alaska’s South Central region. KRUA retains a large and diverse audience both locally by radio, and globally through online streaming which provides their Sponsors with broad-range exposure. KRUA is maintained by a core group of student staff and by volunteers from the greater Anchorage and UAA community. Since 1992, KRUA has provided music and shows to their community while presenting students with a unique creative outlet, and the opportunity to gain skills in radio broadcasting.

KASH-FM (107.5 MHz) is a commercial country music radio station in Anchorage, Alaska. It is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. Its studios are located at Dimond Center in Anchorage, and its transmitter is located in Eagle River, Alaska.

KXLW (96.3 The Moose) is a commercial country music radio station in Houston, Alaska, broadcasting to the Anchorage, Alaska area on 96.3 FM. It is owned by Ohana Media. Its studios are located in Downtown Anchorage and its transmitter is in Eagle River, Alaska. The station adjusted its format from a hybrid of classic rock and country music to a mix of contemporary and classic country hits in October 2010. On March 21, 2016, KXLW rebranded as "96.3 The Moose", and shifted its playlist to an ‘80s/‘90s country based format.

Birchwood Airport (ICAO: PABV, FAA LID: BCV) is a state-owned public-use airport located two nautical miles (4 km) northwest of the central business district of Birchwood (also known as Chugiak), in the Anchorage Municipality of the U.S. state of Alaska. As per Federal Aviation Administration records, the airport had 450 passenger boardings (enplanements) in calendar year 2010, an increase of 20% from the 375 enplanements in 2009. This airport is included in the FAA's National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a general aviation airport.
