The A. Herr and E. E. Smith Public Library is a historic public library located at 105 Adams Street in Loda, Illinois. The library's origins date back to 1858, when the Loda Literary Society was formed. The society originally had no permanent site for its book collection, and it traveled through several town buildings before the society formed a committee to establish a permanent library in 1894. A new library was funded through a gift from Eliza E. Smith, a Pennsylvanian and the sister and heir of A. Herr Smith; A. Herr Smith had business interests in Loda and had grown fond of the area. The library was incorporated in 1896, and construction on the new library building was completed in 1897. In addition to housing the town's book collection, the library also held books for the local public school and served as the Loda Historical Society's archives and the Oakalla Culture Club's meeting room.The library was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 4, 1995.

Paxton Water Tower and Pump House

The Paxton Water Tower and Pump House are a historic water tower and pump house located at 145 S. Market St. in Paxton, Illinois. The buildings were built in 1887 to provide a steady water supply to Paxton. Prior to their construction, Paxton had considerable difficulty with its water supply; a fire which destroyed much of the city's downtown in 1870 had been exacerbated by the fire department's low water supply, and an artesian well project started in 1872 was unsuccessful. The new water tower and pump house were the first in a series of infrastructure improvements which spurred the economic development of Paxton. The two buildings were built with brick. The octagonal water tower is 80 feet (24 m) tall. There used to be a water tank on top of the pump house tower which was missing in latest years.The buildings were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It is one of four sites on the National Register in Paxton and one of five in Ford County.

Dunnan–Hampton House

The Dunnan–Hampton House is an historic building in Paxton, Illinois, United States. It was built in 1897 and purchased by the Dunnan family in 1900. Distinctive features include the cupola, stained glass window, and hand-carved ornate woodwork. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 22, 2007. Reflective of the Queen Anne style, the house also incorporates elements of Stick Style and Eastlake Style. The house was restored by Ronald and Charlotte Hampton to the point where it is "almost exactly what it was like in 1897”.

Paxton First Schoolhouse

The Paxton First Schoolhouse, located at 406 E. Franklin St., is the oldest remaining building in Paxton, Illinois. Built in 1856-57, the building served as the first school in Paxton. It was also used as a church and a meeting hall by many of Paxton's early settlers. The school moved to a new building in the 1860s, and the First Schoolhouse became a private residence.The school was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 29, 1980. It is one of four sites on the National Register in Paxton and one of five in Ford County.

The station is currently owned by Paxton Broadcasting Corporation and features programming from Fox News Radio.WPXN is the home of local high school sporting events, as well as the Illinois Fighting Illini and NASCAR. In June 2020 WPXN installed a new broadcasting tower and returned to its full licensed power of 3,000 watts after months of broadcasting at a reduced power 250 watts because of structural issues with the old broadcasting tower.
