Bullock-Dew House

Thomas Bradshaw was an African-American man who was lynched by a mob in Bailey, North Carolina, in August 1927.Apparently Bradshaw was accused of rape and arrested, but in "what appeared to be a mob orchestrated maneuver, Bradshaw was allowed to escape arrest. He was then patiently chased and hunted over two days and nights before being captured, exhausted, and then murdered by a group of white men who went unpunished."John R. Steelman, who wrote his PhD dissertation on "mob action in the South", listed Thomas Bradshaw as one of the cases, and said Bradshaw, after "being shot five times by a posse in Nash County, in 1927, fell dead 'on account of heart failure from fatigue' according to the coroner's jury."

Buckhorn Reservoir is a reservoir in Wilson County, North Carolina, USA, created by the Buckhorn Dam. The reservoir is the primary water supply for the city of Wilson. The original Buckhorn Dam was built in 1974, 1,000 feet (300 m) upstream from the current dam. The reservoir at that time only had the ability to contain 800 million US gallons (3,000,000 m3) of water. In 1999, a new dam was constructed downstream from the older dam creating a reservoir with a much larger capacity. The new Buckhorn Reservoir covers an area of 2,300 acres (9.3 km2), and has a capacity of 7 billion US gallons (26,000,000 m3) when fully filled. The dam is one-half mile long and was built with expansion in mind. The top of the dam was built to an elevation of 159 feet (48 m) above sea level, although the lake is only filled to the 148-foot (45 m) elevation. The dam is capable of holding another 6 feet (1.8 m) of water, but that would require changes to the spillway design. A drought in 2007 caused the reservoir to drop to the 60% capacity level, which has raised the issue of increasing the capacity of the lake. The reservoir is fed by two streams, Turkey Creek and Moccasin Creek. Water to be treated is not drawn from the reservoir itself. The outflow travels down Contentnea Creek to the Wiggins Mill reservoir, where the water is treated at the Wiggins Mill Water Treatment Plant.

Morgan School is a historic Rosenwald School located at Bailey, Nash County, North Carolina. It was built in 1925–1926, and is a one-story, side-gabled shallow "T" frame building on a brick foundation. The school contained two classrooms and measures roughly 30 feet by 60 feet. The school closed in 1956, and it was converted to a private residence soon after.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

Middlesex is a town in Nash County, North Carolina, United States. It is part of the Rocky Mount, North Carolina Metropolitan Statistical Area. Middlesex is about 25 miles east of Raleigh. The population was 822 at the 2010 census.

Boyette Slave House is a historic home located near Kenly, Johnston County, North Carolina. It is a small one-room log dwelling. It is built of hewn and pit-sawn plans and features a gable end stick and mud chimney. The building measures 16 feet by 12 feet and 8 feet tall. Between 1890 and 1910 it was reused as a schoolhouse. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. The site of the Boyette Plantation House across the street is not listed.

Atkinson-Smith House is a historic plantation home located near Smithfield, Johnston County, North Carolina.

Taylor's Mill is a historic grist mill located near Middlesex, Nash County, North Carolina. The mill was built about 1850, and is a two-story, gable roofed frame building on a stone pier foundation. The mill measures approximately 30 feet wide by 40 feet long.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
