Lycée Saint-Marc, Lyon, is a private Catholic secondary school and college, located in Lyon, in the heart of the Ainay district, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. The school was founded by the Society of Jesus in 1871 and forms part of the Center Saint-Marc. The school is a Catholic institution under contract of association with the State.

The Basilica of Saint-Martin d'Ainay (French: Basilique Saint-Martin d'Ainay) is a Romanesque church in Ainay in the Presqu'île district in the historic centre of Lyon, France. A quintessential example of Romanesque architecture, it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List along with other notable buildings in the centre of Lyon as a testimony to Lyon's long history as an important European town and unique blend of architectural styles.

The Grande synagogue de Lyon is a synagogue located at 13 quai Tilsitt in the 2nd arrondissement of Lyon. This neo-Byzantine Jewish place of worship was built between 1863 and 1864 and renovated for the first time in 2014. It was classified as a monument historique in 1984.

The 2nd arrondissement of Lyon is one of the nine arrondissements of the City of Lyon.

Ainay is an area within the Presqu'ile district in the 2nd arrondissement of Lyon, to the south of Place Bellecour and the north of Perrache. It is best known for its Romanesque church, the Basilica of Saint-Martin d'Ainay. A high-class area, bourgeoise, in the city centre, its buildings mainly date to the Bourbon Restoration era. It now houses the 2nd arrondissement's town-hall, as well as many shops along its pedestrianised main street, Rue Victor-Hugo. It is served by the Metro station Ampère - Victor Hugo. Several hypotheses have been raised as to its name, which may be linked to Athanase (Athanasius) or, more doubtfully, to Athena.

The Place Ampère is a pedestrian square located in the Ainay square, in the 2nd arrondissement of Lyon. It is nearly the middle of the rue Victor-Hugo and is served by the metro station Ampère - Victor Hugo.

Rue Victor-Hugo is a pedestrian street in the 2nd arrondissement of Lyon, in the Ainay district of the Presqu'île quarter, reputed to be one of the most known shopping area of Lyon. From north to south, it connects the Place Bellecour to the Place Carnot. Beyond the Place Bellecour, the rue de la République is its natural extension, thus creating one of the biggest pedestrian streets in Europe. The street is served by metro stations Perrache, Bellecour and Ampère - Victor Hugo. It belongs to the zone classified as World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The Place Benoît-Crépu is a stone-paved square, located in Saint-Georges quarter, on the banks of the Saône (Vieux Lyon), in the 5th arrondissement of Lyon. It has fountains with dolphin heads, many benches and trees and a playground. The place belongs to the area classified as World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The Musée des Automates (the Automatons Museum) in Lyon, France, was a museum with a collection of 250 automatic puppets, all of them moving and made in the building's workshop. Seven rooms and 20 animated scenes reflected the heritage and tradition of Lyon. The museum closed in March 2022.

ESDES School of Business and Management (École supérieure pour le développement économique et social) is located in Lyon, France. It was created in 1987, within the Catholic University of Lyon ( UCLy). ESDES is state-recognised and its diploma carries the "visa" of approval and the master's degree of the French Ministry of Education, the master in management program is EPAS accredited. The Grande Ecole Program of ESDES Lyon Business School is EPAS accredited by the EFMD. Admission to the 1st year of the Grande Ecole program of the ESDES is by the ACCESS Competition and via a parallel admission procedure in the 3rd and 4th years. The Bachelor in Business is a 3-year program. Admission is through an ESDES competition.

The Presqu'île (pronounced [pʁɛskil] (listen); literally "almost an island" in French, meaning "peninsula") is the central part of the City of Lyon, France. Extending from the foot of the Croix-Rousse hill in the north to the confluence of the Rhône and the Saône rivers in the south, it has a preponderance of cafés, restaurants, luxury shops, department stores, banks, government buildings and cultural institutions. The 1st and 2nd arrondissements of the city are located here, along with the Hôtel de Ville, Lyon's city hall in its 1st arrondissement. The spires of the Church of St. Nizier, rebuilt from the 14th to the 16th centuries, are at the foot of the former Saône river bridge. With a history stretching back to the Middle Ages, Lyon's Presqu'île was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List along with other districts in Lyon as a testimony to Lyon's long history as an important European city and its architecture.
