Warehorne is a village and civil parish in the south of the Ashford Borough of Kent, England. It is a scattered community centred on the Hamstreet to Tenterden road (B2067) around seven miles SSW of Ashford. The Royal Military Canal passes through the south of the civil parish. The first recorded mention of Warehorne is in an Anglo-Saxon charter of Ecgberht, King of Wessex of 820 AD, where it is called Werehornas. The Domesday Book of 1086 mentions Warehorne by name and states that a church existed there. The present church (St Matthew's) shows no sign of Saxon or of Norman work. Warehorne was also where Reverend Richard Harris Barham, the author of The Ingoldsby Legends, resided for a short while.

Orlestone Forest is a 347.6-hectare (859-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest south of Ashford in Kent. It is a Nature Conservation Review site, Grade I.This site is described by Natural England as "an important invertebrate locality of national significance". Hundreds of invertebrate species have been recorded, including 39 which are nationally rare and 134 which are nationally scarce. Several are only known in Britain on this site.A road and footpath go through the site.

Kenardington is a small clustered village and the centre of a relatively small rural civil parish of the same name, in the Ashford District of Kent, England. The village is centred 8 miles (13 km) southwest of Ashford on the B2067 Hamstreet to Tenterden road.

The Royal Military Canal Path is a long-distance path in England, mainly following the Royal Military Canal. Its end points are Seabrook, Kent (51.0720°N 1.1221°E / 51.0720; 1.1221 (Royal Military Canal Path, Seabrook terminus)), and Pett Level, East Sussex (50.8887°N 0.6840°E / 50.8887; 0.6840 (Royal Military Canal Path, Pett Level terminus)), and it runs for 27 miles (43 km). It is a canal-side path and fringes the northern edge of Romney Marsh. The canal is an early-19th-century defence against a possible invasion by Napoleon, and it is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and a SSSI. Links are made with the Saxon Shore Way at Appledore and West Hythe.

Ham Street railway station is a Grade II listed stop on the Marshlink line in the village of Hamstreet, Kent, between Ashford International and Hastings. Services are provided by Southern.

Orlestone () is a mid-sized civil parish in Ashford District, Kent, England, with a population of 1,593. The centre of the parish is Hamstreet village which falls almost entirely within it but has a small fraction in the parish of Warehorne. The civil parish here reflects the very longstanding dominance of Orlestreet as its ecclesiastical parish boundary and provides a third alternative to most residents of Hamstreet to their village name, other than 'Ham Street'. Hamstreet is bypassed by the A2070 road, six miles south of Ashford.

Hamstreet is a village in Kent, in South East England. The village is located 6 miles (10 km) south of Ashford on the A2070, the main road between Ashford and Hastings. The majority of the village is in the parish of Orlestone, named after a much older hamlet located 1 mile north of Hamstreet on the ridge of hills; however, part of the village falls within the parish of Warehorne, including the significant Ingoldsby Lane / Pippins development, giving a total population of 1,988 which will have increased since the 2021 census. The parish church, dedicated to the Good Shepherd [1] Archived 26 February 2008 at the Wayback Machine, is now a shared Anglican/Methodist building, and the parish churches of Orlestone, Snave (now a redundant church), Ruckinge, Warehorne and Kenardington are all within the traditional benefice which was expanded to form the new Saxon Shore benefice along with Bilsington, Bonnington and Aldington.

Ruckinge is a village and civil parish in south Kent centred 5.5 miles (8.9 km) south of Ashford on the B2067 Hamstreet to Hythe road, with two settled neighbourhoods. It is, broadly defined, a narrow, fairly large rural parish of land which is about one quarter woodland.

Ham Street Woods is a 175.2-hectare (433-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest south of Ashford in Kent. It is a Nature Conservation Review site, Grade I, and an area of 97.1 hectares (240 acres) is a National Nature Reserve. This semi-natural wood is more than 400 years old, and it has rich and diverse invertebrates, including 12 rare or scarce dead wood species, such as the nationally rare beetle, Tomoxia biguttata. There is access from the Greensand Way, which crosses the site. The wood comprises Barrow Wood, Bourne Wood and Carter's Wood, the latter two having residential roads named after them in Hamstreet.

Appledore railway station is a Grade II listed station east of Appledore in Kent, England. It is on the Marshlink line, and train services are provided by Southern. The station was constructed in 1851 by the South Eastern Railway and designed by William Tress. It became a junction station in 1881 when a branch line opened to Lydd and New Romney; this closed to passengers in 1967 following the Beeching Report, though the line remains open for goods traffic to Dungeness Nuclear Power Station. Despite a recommendation in the report that Appledore should also close, it has remained open into the 21st century.

The Church of St Thomas à Becket is a parish church near the village of Fairfield, Kent, England. Standing in open marshland and accessible only by footpath, it is noted for its remote setting and has been a frequent subject for photographers, writers, and artists. The church was built in the 15th century on the site of an earlier church. It was renovated in the 17th century in accordance with the Laudian plan promoted by Archbishop William Laud, which adapted medieval interiors for Protestant worship. In the 18th century, the exterior walls were rebuilt in brick. By the 19th century, fewer than 24 dwellings remained in Fairfield parish, and by 1934, the parish was dissolved. In the early 20th century, the church underwent a major renovation. Many of the timbers were replaced and the exterior was clad with new brickwork. It is a Grade I listed building.
