Bispingen

The Luhe is a river in Lower Saxony, Germany. It runs through the Lüneburg Heath, and discharges into the Ilmenau and thus is part of the Elbe river system. The entire catchment area of the Luhe has been heavily populated since the New Stone Age as evinced by sites like the monuments at Soderstorf and the Oldendorfer Totenstatt grave sites. At the height of the present-day town of Winsen (Luhe) a bridge over the Luhe was controlled by Winsen Castle from the 13th century onwards.

The Snow Dome is an indoor ski slope at Bispingen in the German state of Lower Saxony. It opened on 21 October 2006. The piste has a length of about 300 m (984 ft), height about 78 m (256 ft), and a width of up to 100 m (328 ft). On the snow area of about 23,000 m2 (27,508 sq yd), in addition to the downhill piste is a Funpark, a toboggan run (Rodelbahn) and a beginner's slope. The incline varies between 20% at the top and 9% at the bottom. There are two ski lifts in the hall: a button lift with a capacity of 1,600 passengers/hour and a chair lift with a capacity of 3,000 passengers/hour. There is also a Magic carpet (ski lift) for the nursery slope. The interior temperature of the hall, which is open all year round, is kept at a constant −2 to −4 °C (28.4 to 24.8 °F). The Snow Dome was closed on 31 March 2013 and employees were given their notice. It reopened in November 2013 after much redevelopment work.

Dat ole Huus Heath Museum is a local history museum in Wilsede in the German state of Lower Saxony. It was founded in 1907 which makes it one of the oldest open-air museums in Germany. The name is Low German for 'That Ole House'.

The Brunau is a small river, 10.3 kilometres (6.4 mi) long, in the district of Soltau-Fallingbostel, on the Lüneburg Heath in North Germany. It rises south of Niederhaverbeck in the Lüneburg Heath Nature Reserve. Near Hützel, a village in the northeastern part of Bispingen, it discharges into the Luhe from the left bank. The water quality of the worsens as it flows downstream from north of Bispingen to its confluence with the Luhe, going from Class II: moderately polluted, to Class II – III: critically polluted.

The Lüneburg Heath Nature Reserve (German: Naturschutzgebiet Lüneburger Heide) is one of the oldest and largest nature reserves (Naturschutzgebiete or NSGs) in Germany, and the oldest and largest in Lower Saxony. It was first established on 29 December 1921 when an area of four square miles was declared a nature park by the Prussian government.

Lüneburg Heath (German: Lüneburger Heide, pronounced [ˈlyːnəbʊʁɡɐ ˈhaɪ̯də]) is a large area of heath, geest, and woodland in the northeastern part of the state of Lower Saxony in northern Germany. It forms part of the hinterland for the cities of Hamburg, Hanover and Bremen and is named after the town of Lüneburg. Most of the area is a nature reserve. Northern Low Saxon is still widely spoken in the region. Lüneburg Heath has extensive areas, and the most yellow of heathland, typical of those that covered most of the North German countryside until about 1800, but which have almost completely disappeared in other areas. The heaths were formed after the Neolithic period by overgrazing of the once widespread forests on the poor sandy soils of the geest, as this slightly hilly and sandy terrain in northern Europe is called. Lüneburg Heath is therefore a historic cultural landscape. The remaining areas of heath are kept clear mainly through grazing, especially by a North German breed of moorland sheep called the Heidschnucke. Due to its unique landscape, Lüneburg Heath is a popular tourist destination in North Germany.

Ilster is a small river of Lower Saxony, Germany. It flows into the Örtze north of Munster.

At 169 m above sea level (NN), the Wilseder Berg is the highest point on the Lüneburg Heath in North Germany. Due to its position in the middle of the nature reserve Lüneburg Heath it is a popular tourist destination, especially in the period when the heather is in flower.

Deimern is a village in the borough of Soltau in the Heidekreis district in the German state of Lower Saxony. The village has a population of 198 (as at: 2003). The hamlets of Timmerloh, Harmelingen and Grasengrund belong to the parish of Deimern. Deimern lies on the Lüneburg Heath northeast of Soltau. The district roads (Kreisstraßen) K 2 and K 3 cross near Deimern. The parish chairman is Jürgen Wallmann (as of 2019). The Ehbläcksmoor nature reserve is located in the parish.

Dittmern is a village in the borough of Soltau in the Heidekreis district in the German state of Lower Saxony. The village has 783 inhabitants (as at: 2003). The hamlets of Friedrichseck, Hambostel, Grüne Aue, Heidenhof and Höpenhof belong to the parish of Dittmern. The Low Saxon name for Dittmern is Dibbern. Dittmern lies on the Lüneburg Heath northeast of Soltau on the Große Aue river. The district roads (Kreisstraßen) K 2 and K 9 and the A 7 motorway run through the parish. A motorway junction, Heideregion, in the vicinity of Dittmern, is currently being planned. The parish chairman is Andreas Wagner-Wischhoff (as at 2008).

Undeloh (Low German: Unnel) is a village in the district of Harburg, in Lower Saxony, Germany.

Lüneburg Heath Nature Park (German: Naturpark Lüneburger Heide) is a nature park, a form of protected environment, located in the Lüneburg Heath in northern Germany. It has an area of 1,077.9 square kilometres (416.2 sq mi). The centre of the nature park is the Lüneburg Heath Nature Reserve with an area of 23,440 hectares (57,900 acres).
