The Balara Filters Park is a 60-hectare (150-acre) park located in the Diliman village of Pansol in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines, adjacent to the University of the Philippines Diliman main campus. It is bounded by Katipunan Avenue on the west, Capitol Hills Golf and Country Club on the north, and the upscale, gated village of La Vista along its south and east. The park is one of the oldest recreation areas in Quezon City having been first opened to the public in 1953. It occupies part of the old Balara Filtration Plant complex, one of the main treatment facilities for water coming from the La Mesa Dam. The park is administered by the Manila Water company in partnership with the Quezon City Parks Development and Administration Department.

The University of the Philippines School of Economics is a degree-granting unit of the University of the Philippines Diliman (U.P.), where it occupies the buildings of the Philippine Center for Economic Development (PCED). The school offers two Bachelor of Science degrees (B.S. Economics and B.S. Business Economics), two master's degrees (Master in Development Economics and M.A. in Economics) and the Ph.D. in economics. Established in 1965, the School of Economics was chosen as the first and only CHED Center for Excellence in Economics in the Philippines in 1999. Its academic programs enjoy a high national and international reputation, with a regular faculty consisting entirely of Ph.D.-holders. In April 2017, the School was among the top 5% (rank 175 among 7,408) of economics departments in the world based on the strength of its graduate students, as ranked by RePEc.The faculty has included three National Scientists, one Academician, and several Outstanding Young Scientists, all as recognized by the National Academy of Science and Technology of the Philippines. Broadcast City

Broadcast City was the headquarters and broadcast complex of the television and radio networks owned by Roberto Benedicto, namely - Banahaw Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Radio Philippines Network (RPN) and Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation (IBC). It was located at Old Balara, Capitol Hills, Diliman, Quezon City and served as the three network's main television and radio production center and main transmission facility. It was inaugurated in July 1978 and was the most modern broadcast facility at that time. After the 1986 People Power Revolution toppled the government of Ferdinand Marcos, Broadcast City and the three networks were sequestered by the new government and placed under the management of a Board of Administrators tasked to operate and manage its business and affairs subject to the control and supervision of Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG).BBC ended its operations on March 20, 1986 and its radio (101.9 FM) and television frequencies and one frequency from RPN (630 AM) were awarded back to ABS-CBN in July 1986. In 2011, IBC entered into a joint venture agreement with Prime Realty, an affiliate of R-II Builders Group of Reghis Romero Jr. The agreement called for the development of 3.5 hectares of Broadcast City.In October 2012, RPN was acquired by the Solar TV Network and discontinued use of the Broadcast City facilities. IBC has discontinued the use of Broadcast City since December 2018. Broadcast City was demolished on 2020 to give way for the Larossa Condominium project of Primehomes Real Estate Development Inc.
