Ootmarsum

Klein Agelo is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is a part of the municipality of Dinkelland, and lies about 10 km north of Oldenzaal and very close to Ootmarsum. It was first mentioned in 1408 as "Luttiken Agele". It is called Klein (Little) to distinguish from Groot Agelo (Big). Since 2009, both hamlets are listed under Agelo. Klein Agelo is mentioned on direction signs, however there are no place name signs to indicate that you have arrived in the hamlet.In the rural countryside some good examples can be found of timber framed barns and farmhouses build in the local traditional style of the Low German house.

Restaurant De Wanne is a defunct restaurant located in Hotel De Wiemsel in Ootmarsum, Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in the period 1985-1988 and from 1992 to 2014.In 2014, the parent company of Hotel De Wiemsel came in financial difficulties and went bankrupt. This forced the closure of the restaurant.Head chef of De Wanne was Gerhard Müller. He left in 2014. In 1981, head chef was Johan Neppelerbroek.Originally, restaurant De Wanne was located at Stobbenkamp 2. Although the restaurant was on the westside, it belonged to Hotel De Wiemsel, located at the eastside of town. The hotel solved this by running a maroon Daimler limousine to transport the guests between hotel and restaurant. Later, it moved to an adjacent purpose-built building and the limousine was sold.De Wanne is a former member of the Alliance Gastronomique Néerlandaise.In 2015 the hotel reopened as Parkhotel De Wiemsel who named their restaurant De Wanne. But except the location, there is no formal tie between the two restaurants.

Oud Ootmarsum is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is a part of the municipality of Dinkelland, and lies about 12 km north of Oldenzaal and very close to Ootmarsum. Oud Ootmarsum is a statistical entity and has its own postal code, however it is considered a hamlet. The hamlet is the predecessor of the city of Ootmarsum, and was first mentioned in 1384 as Olde Oetmarsum. In 1840, it was home to 245 people.The partially timber-framed building style of barns and farmhouses here is closely related to the building style of the Low German house.

Groot Agelo is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is a part of the municipality of Dinkelland, and lies about 9 km north of Oldenzaal. It was first mentioned in 1252 as "Wicherus et Ludolfus filius suus de Agelo". The etymology is unclear. It is called Groot (Big) to distinguish from Klein Agelo (Little). Since 2009, both hamlets are listed under Agelo.It has a elementary school named 'n Boaken. The people of Klein Agelo and Groot Agelo, places called together as just 'Agelo', go to church in Ootmarsum. In this neighbourhood some fine examples of timber-framed cottages and barns can be found, displaying the Low German house style which is very common in the east of Twente.

Nutter is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is a part of the municipality of Dinkelland, and lies about 13 km north of Oldenzaal. It was first mentioned in 1297 as Nuthere. The etymology is unclear. In 1840, it was home to 194 people. There are direction signs to Nutter, but no place name signs that you have arrived.

Halle is a village in the Joint Community (Samtgemeinde) of Uelsen, in the district of Grafschaft Bentheim in Lower Saxony. The community, to which the centres of Hardingen (amalgamated in 1974) and Hesingen also belong, has 654 inhabitants (as of June 2005) and spans 21.15 km². The community’s mayor is Geert Beckhuis. Reutum is a village in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is a part of the municipality of Tubbergen, and lies about 10 km northwest of Oldenzaal. Reutum was first attested in the late-10th century as Riatnon, and means "settlement near reed". The village developed along the Reutumse Es. Reutum and neighbour Haarle were home to 670 people in 1840.The church is dedicated to St. Simon and Judas, and was constructed in 1811. The windmill is called "De Vier Winden" (The four winds), and dates from 1862. Another point of interest is the double sluice in the Almelo-Nordhorn canal.

Volthe is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is a part of the municipality of Dinkelland, and lies about 6 km north of Oldenzaal. Volthe is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Rossum. It was first mentioned in the late-10th century as Uuluht. The etymology is unclear. In 1840, it was home to 542. Nowadays, it consists of about 200 houses.It is a rural area with spread out farms and houses, some of them in the timber framed style of the traditional Low German house. A fortified house, het Everlo, serves as a starting point for walks to the nearby nature reserve Roderveld.

Hezingen (Tweants: Hezingn) is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is a part of the municipality of Tubbergen, and lies about 15 km north of Oldenzaal. It was first mentioned in 799 as Hasungum. In 1840, it was home to 187 people.The hamlet is situated between Vasse and the border to Germany. Across the border it has a twin village called Hesingen.Springendal was bought in the 1920s by textile industrialist Gerhard Jannink who decorated the forest around the estate with ponds, waterfalls and little meandering streams. The nature area is nowadays publicly accessible. In 2022, a treasure of 70 golden coins and jewellery from the 7th and 8th century were discovered in Springendal.
