Vel Phillips Memorial High School is a public high school in Madison, Wisconsin, United States. It was established in 1966 and is part of the Madison Metropolitan School District. The school is named after Vel Phillips, an American attorney, politician, jurist, and Civil Rights activist, who served as the first female alderperson and judge in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and as Secretary of State of Wisconsin (1979-1983). Previously named James Madison Memorial High School after Founding Father James Madison, the school was unanimously renamed by the Madison Metropolitan School District board in 2021 after concern was raised by the public over Madison’s ownership of slaves.

St. Ambrose Academy is a Roman Catholic elementary school and high school located on the west side of Madison, Wisconsin. Founded in 2003, the school's stated purpose is to offer "a classical education rooted in the Catholic faith."

There are 102 parishes in the diocese, with 98 priests in active ministry.The Cathedral was Saint Raphael's Cathedral in Madison, but was destroyed by fire in 2005. The diocese currently has no cathedral. Parishioners of the Cathedral currently congregate at St. Patrick's and Holy Redeemer Parishes in Downtown Madison. Camp Gray, a summer camp and retreat center, is one of the ministries of the Diocese of Madison.

Holy Name Seminary is a former Catholic high school seminary located in Madison, Wisconsin. The building currently houses offices for the Diocese of Madison as well as an apartment community named Holy Name Heights.

High Point Christian School is a private Christian school located on the west side of Madison, Wisconsin, United States. It was founded by Middleton Baptist Church (now High Point Church) in 1974 as Middleton Christian School. HPCS is a 3K–8 school and shares its building with High Point Church. In 2012, High Point consolidated with Abundant Life Christian School to form Madison Christian Schools.

Middleton Junction is an unincorporated community located in the town of Middleton, Dane County, Wisconsin, United States.

The National Wildlife Health Center (NWHC) is a science center of the United States Geological Survey. NWHC is located in Madison, Wisconsin, on a 24-acre plot of land that includes a main building and tight isolation building (TIB). The facility houses Bio-safety Level 3 (BSL-3) and Bio-safety Level 2 (BSL-2) laboratories on site. The center studies several diseases that affect American wildlife including bat white nose syndrome, chronic wasting disease (CWD), avian influenza, and sylvatic plague, among others.In addition to the study of disease, NWHC has the capability to diagnose the causes of mass wildlife die-offs. This is done via necropsy and the work of several pathologists, biologists, and other scientists. The scientists are able to run toxicology, heavy metal and tissue analyses to determine cause of death. A notable instance of this capability in use was during the mass die-off of birds, primarily red-winged blackbirds, in Beebe, Arkansas, on December 31, 2010. The NWHC determined the die-off to be the result of blunt trauma, most likely caused when the birds were frightened out of their nests at night by fireworks.

WiCell Research Institute is a scientific research institute in Madison, Wisconsin that focuses on stem cell research. Independently governed and supported as a 501(c)(3) organization, WiCell operates as an affiliate of the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation and works to advance stem cell research at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and beyond.
