Knighton is a residential suburban area of Leicester, in the Leicester district, in the ceremonial county of Leicestershire, England. It situated between Clarendon Park to the north, Stoneygate to the east, Oadby and Wigston to the south and the Saffron Lane estate to the west. Originally a separate village a couple of miles from Leicester city centre, it became linked to it by the areas known as Stoneygate and Clarendon Park during the Victorian period, due to the demand for housing for those newly employed in industry. It still retains several of the village's original buildings, such as Oram Cottage and the Church of St. Mary Magdalen; the village core is now a conservation area.

Saffron Lane sports centre is a large 8 lane (9 lane straight) 400 metre synthetic floodlight lit running track which includes a steeplechase water jump, in Leicester, England. It is home to the city's top two athletics clubs, the sprint and field specialists Leicester Coritanian A.C. and the middle and long distance specialists, OWLS AC Leicester. Other athletics squads train at the track, namely Leicester Walking Club, some members of University of Leicester athletics team among other local running clubs.

Wyggeston and Queen Elizabeth I College (WQE) is a sixth form college, located in Leicester, England. The college is led by Paul Wilson who was appointed the eighth principal in March 2018. The college merged with the nearby Regent College in 2018 to form an institution with approximately 3,750 full-time 16–18-year-old students and 140 teaching staff. More than 40 subjects are offered at A Level. The college was awarded Learning and Skills Beacon Status in April 2003.

Queens Road is the main shopping area for the Clarendon Park area in Leicester. Notably the road contains Leicester Friends Meeting House as well as several other Christian places of worship. Although house prices along this street are generally high, there are some very reasonably-priced terrace houses in the midsection.

Clarendon Park is an area in the south of the city of Leicester. It is bordered by Welford Road to the west, London Road to the east, Victoria Park to the north and Avenue Road/Avenue Road Extension to the south. It is part of Castle Ward and the constituency of Leicester South. There are two major shopping streets; Queens Road and Clarendon Park Road. These two roads intersect near the centre of Clarendon Park, with Queens Road running north–south, and Clarendon Park Road running east–west.

Welford Road railway station was a railway station built by the London and North Western Railway to allow their staff to collect passenger tickets from LNWR trains entering Leicester from the south.It was situated immediately south of the road bridge carrying Welford Road above the line, less than 1 mile from Leicester station. Knighton tunnel is just to the south. Later in the station's (brief) history, passengers were allowed to alight here, with trains stopping here only on Wednesdays and Saturdays to serve the cattle market.No platform was ever built to serve the southbound line. The station was closed on 6 February 1918.

The Fielding Johnson Building is the main administrative building for the University of Leicester, Leicester, England. It is a Grade II listed building.
