Ilsede

The Ilseder Hütte is a former ironworks in Ilsede (district of Peine) in Lower Saxony, Germany

Lahstedt is a former municipality in the district of Peine, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It was situated approximately 11 km south of Peine, and 20 km west of Braunschweig. Lahstedt was formed on 1 February 1971 by merging the five villages of Adenstedt, Gadenstedt, Groß Lafferde, Münstedt and Oberg. "Lahstedt" itself was an artificial name, but not a population centre. Since 1 January 2015 its subdivisions are part of the municipality Ilsede.

Mehrum Power Station is a coal-fired power station in Mehrum, Lower Saxony, Germany. It lies about 20km east of Hannover. It has an output of 750 megawatts. Today the unit 3, commissioned in 1979, is still in use. The power station has 120 employees. The chimney of the power station is 250 m (820 ft) high. On 1 November 2017, it was sold by Enercity and BS Energy to Energetický a Průmyslový Holding (EPH).

Soßmar is a village in Lower Saxony, about 30 km south of Hanover, 13 km east of Hildesheim and 12 km west of Peine, a few minutes from the national highways B494 and B65. The motorway A2 via Peine, Hämelerwald, Lehrte or Sehnde/Ilsede/Hanover can be reached in about 20 minutes and the motorway A7 via Sehnde/Ilsede/Hanover or Hildesheim/Drispenstedt in the same time.

The Battle of Sievershausen occurred on 9 July 1553 near the village of Sievershausen (today part of Lehrte in present-day Germany), where the forces of the Hohenzollern margrave Albert Alcibiades of Brandenburg-Kulmbach fought against the united troops of Elector Maurice of Saxony and Duke Henry V of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel. With 4,000 men killed, including the Saxon elector and two of Henry's sons, it was one of the bloodiest battles on Lower Saxon territory. Margrave Albert was defeated.
