The Basilica of San Gaudenzio is a church in Novara, Piedmont, northern Italy. It is the highest point in the city. It is dedicated to Gaudentius of Novara, first Christian bishop of the city. It was built between 1577 and 1690 following the destruction of the old Basilica, ordered by Emperor Charles V. The Basilica itself was built by Pellegrino Tibaldi; however, the monumental cupola was designed by Alessandro Antonelli (who also designed the Mole Antonelliana in Torino). The cupola was completed in 1887.

Novara (Italian: [noˈvaːra] , Novarese: [nuˈ(ʋ)aːra]) is the capital city of the province of Novara in the Piedmont region in northwest Italy, to the west of Milan. With 101,916 inhabitants (on 1 January 2021), it is the second most populous city in Piedmont after Turin. It is an important crossroads for commercial traffic along the routes from Milan to Turin and from Genoa to Switzerland. Novara lies between the streams Agogna and Terdoppio in northeastern Piedmont, 50 km (31 mi) from Milan and 95 km (59 mi) from Turin. It is only 15 km (9.3 mi) distant from the river Ticino, which marks the border with Lombardy region.

Novara Cathedral (Italian: Duomo di Novara or Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta) is a Roman Catholic cathedral, dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, located at the Piazza della Repubblica in Novara, Piedmont, Italy. It is the seat of the Bishop of Novara. Construction began in the 11th century of the original church on the site, which was consecrated in 1132. It was demolished in the mid-19th century to make way for the current structure, which incorporates from its predecessor the mosaic floor of the presbytery and a chapel dedicated to Saint Syrus. The present Neo-Classical cathedral was designed by the architect Alessandro Antonelli and was built between 1863 and 1869. It has recently undergone a 12-year-long restoration project which was completed in November 2009. The baptistry, a separate structure although functionally part of the cathedral, is a Palaeo-Christian building dating from the 4th-5th centuries.The composers Pietro Generali, in the years leading up to his death in 1832, and Antonio Cagnoni, from 1879 to 1888, served as the maestri di cappella here.

The province of Novara (Italian: provincia di Novara) is a province in the Piedmont region of Italy. Its capital is the city of Novara. In 1992, the new province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola was created through the fusion of three geographical areas which had previously been part of the province of Novara. It has an area of 1,339 square kilometres (517 sq mi) and a population of 362,925 (2021). The province contains 87 comuni (SG: comune) (see list of comuni of the province of Novara).

Teatro Coccia (pronounced [teˈaːtro ˈkɔttʃa], "Coccia Theatre") is the main opera house in Novara (as well as one of the major traditional Italian theatres), and is also the most important "historical" theatres in Piedmont. It faces along via Fratelli Rosselli, and delimits piazza dei Martiri to the west and piazza Giacomo Puccini to the east.

The Conservatorio Guido Cantelli (in full: I.S.S.M. Conservatorio Guido Cantelli di Novara) is a college of music in Novara, Italy. The college opened in 1766, and was established in a building built in the 1700s. It became Novara's conservatory in 1996, and it was named after Novara's great conductor Guido Cantelli.The Conservatorio Cantelli hosts the music festival "Festival Fiati", which in 2019 celebrated its 16th edition.

Novara railway station (Italian: Stazione di Novara) is the main station serving the city and comune of Novara, in the Piedmont region, northwestern Italy. Opened in 1854, it forms part of the Turin–Milan and is origin of the lines to Arona, to Alessandria, to Biella, Varallo, Domodossola and Luino, respectively. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). However, the commercial area of the passenger building is managed by Centostazioni. Each of these companies is a subsidiary of Ferrovie dello Stato (FS), Italy's state-owned rail company. The rain services are operated by Trenitalia, SNCF and Trenord. A second station, the Novara Nord railway station, is located a short distance away, and serves as the terminus of the Saronno–Novara railway, which is owned by Trenord.

The Visconti-Sforza Castle of Novara is a castle located in the south-western border of the old center of Novara. It was erected on the former corner of the Roman and Middle Age walls that surrounded the city.

Novara Nord is a railway station in Italy. It is the end of the Saronno–Novara railway.It serves the city of Novara, and is joined by a junction track to the Novara railway station, managed by Ferrovie dello Stato.

The Stadio Silvio Piola is a multi-use stadium in Novara, Italy. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Novara Calcio. The stadium holds 17,875 and was named after Italy legend and former player Silvio Piola (1913–1996).

Lumellogno is a settlement of some 1,500 people to the south-west of the city of Novara in the Italian province Piedmont. Administratively it is a quarter (quartiere) of the Commune of Novara; geographically it is separated from the town by paddy fields and the torrent Agogna. Lumellogno was the birthplace of the noted twelfth-century scholastic Petrus Lombardus.
