The Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) is a public school district located in Wake County, North Carolina. With 157,673 students in average daily membership and 194 schools as of the 2021–2022 school year, it is the largest public school district in North Carolina and 14th-largest in the United States as of 2016.

Swift Creek Township (also designated Township 18) is one of twenty townships within Wake County, North Carolina, United States. As of the 2010 census, Swift Creek Township had a population of 50,225, a 41.6% increase over 2000. Swift Creek Township, occupying 44.6 square miles (115.5 km2) in south-central Wake County, includes portions of the towns of Cary and Garner and of the city of Raleigh. Swift Creek is also an unincorporated community within Wake County, located between the municipalities of Raleigh, Cary, Apex, and Garner. A non-binding referendum on incorporation for the Swift Creek area was held in November 2000. Out of 4,220 votes cast, 2,492 (58%) voted in favor of incorporation.

Cary High School is one of six public high schools in Cary, North Carolina and is part of the Wake County Public School System. In 1907, Cary High School became the first state-funded public high school in North Carolina. It was selected as a Blue Ribbon School in 2002.

WakeMed Soccer Park is a major soccer complex in Cary, North Carolina, United States. It consists of a purpose-built, soccer-specific main stadium, two lighted practice fields, and four additional fields. The main stadium and the two lighted fields (2 & 3) are all FIFA international regulation size (120 by 75 yards (110 m × 69 m)). The stadium seats 10,000, while Field 2 also has 1,000 permanent bleacher seats. The complex also sports a full-length, nationally recognized cross-country course and houses the offices of Triangle Professional Soccer. Originally opened in 2002 as the home of the Carolina Courage of the WUSA, WakeMed Soccer Park is now the home to North Carolina FC of the USL League One and the North Carolina Courage of the National Women's Soccer League. The North Carolina State Wolfpack men's and women's teams of the ACC play select matches there and the complex regularly hosts major tournaments such as the NCAA College Cup, the ACC Soccer Championships, and the NCHSAA high school state soccer finals.

Jesse Penny House and Outbuildings is a historic home and farm complex located near Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina. The Penny House was built in 1890, and enlarged in 1900. It is a two-story, single pile, frame I-house with a one-story rear addition. It features a hip-roofed wraparound porch. Also on the property are the contributing well house (c. 1900), barn/garage (c. 1900), barn (c. 1900), chicken house (c. 1900), and picket fence (c. 1900).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

J. S. Dorton Arena is a 7,610-seat multi-purpose arena located in Raleigh, North Carolina, on the grounds of the North Carolina State Fair. It opened in 1952. Architect Maciej Nowicki of the North Carolina State University Department of Architecture was killed in an airplane crash before the construction phase. Local architect William Henley Dietrick supervised the completion of the arena using Nowicki's innovative design. Said design features a steel cable supported saddle-shaped roof in tension, held up by parabolic concrete arches in compression. The arches cross about 20 feet above ground level and continue underground, where their ends are held together by more steel cables in tension. The outer walls of the arena support next to no weight at all. Dorton Arena was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on April 11, 1973. Originally named the "State Fair Arena", it was dedicated to Dr. J. S. Dorton, former North Carolina State Fair manager, in 1961.In the past, it has hosted many sporting events, concerts, political rallies and circuses.
