Everett station (MBTA)

Encore Boston Harbor (previously referred to as Wynn Everett and Wynn Boston Harbor) is a luxury resort and casino located in Everett, Massachusetts, and owned by Wynn Resorts. The resort is in a commercial-industrial area on the Mystic River, about 5 miles (8.0 km) from downtown Boston. Its development rehabilitated a 33-acre parcel of land previously used for industrial purposes. It opened on June 23, 2019, at a total cost of $2.6 billion. After a remediation process to clean the site, Wynn Resorts constructed an integrated resort with a hotel, a harborwalk, restaurants, a casino, spa, retail outlets, and meeting and convention space. Public amenities of the year-round harborwalk include a picnic park, paths for bikers and pedestrians, viewing decks, waterfront dining and retail, a performance lawn, floral displays, boat docks, and public art.

The Beacon Oil explosion occurred on February 10, 1928, at the company's distilling plant in Everett, Massachusetts. 14 people were killed in 36 injured in the disaster.

The Mystic Generating Station is a power station in the state of Massachusetts (on the border between Everett and Boston) which has the highest nameplate capacity of any station in the state. It is capable of burning both natural gas and petroleum, but mostly burns natural gas.The plant currently consists of eight separate generating units; Mystic 8 and 9 are combined cycle natural gas units with a total of four combustion turbines and two steam turbines which can produce 1414 MW total, Mystic 7 is a natural gas or petroleum unit which produces 576 MW, and Mystic Jet is small petroleum fueled unit which produces 8.6 MW in periods of high demand. Mystic Station is scheduled to retire in mid-2024.

The Malden River is a 2.3-mile-long (3.7 km) river in Malden, Medford, and Everett, Massachusetts. It is roughly 675 feet (206 m) wide at its widest point and is very narrow at its smallest point. Its banks are largely occupied by industrial business, and the river is scarcely used or even mentioned. Its water quality is worse than most local waters, including the Mystic River, into which it flows. Most agree that the river is under-utilized. Projects like Rivers Edge (formerly TeleCom City) hope to promote recreational use of the river's banks. Currently, crew teams, including the Malden High School and the Mystic Valley Regional Charter School, practice on the river because it is never crowded like the Charles River. Also, a state-of-the-art boat house is located in Medford on the west bank of the river, used by the Tufts University rowing team.

The Amelia Earhart Dam is an earth-fill dam spanning the Mystic River near its mouth between Somerville and Everett, Massachusetts. It was built in 1966 to regulate tidal effects and the incursion of salt water in the upstream river basin. It has 3 locks for marine traffic. The largest is 325 feet long, and 45 feet wide; the two smaller locks are 120 feet long and, 22 feet wide. There is no public access to the dam. The dam is named after the aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart whose plane disappeared in 1937. Earhart lived in nearby Medford, Massachusetts in the 1920s.

WILD (1090 AM) is a radio station licensed to Boston, Massachusetts. The station airs a Christian format, and is owned by Blount Communications, through licensee Blount Masscom, Inc. The station operates during daytime hours only. Its transmitter is located in Medford.

Wellington station is a Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) Orange Line rapid transit station in Medford, Massachusetts. It is located on the Revere Beach Parkway (Route 16), slightly east of its intersection with Route 28. Wellington functions as a park and ride with more than 1,300 spaces, and a bus hub with 10 routes terminating at the station. The Station Landing development, connected to the station by an overhead walkway, includes residential and retail buildings and additional parking. Wellington Carhouse, the primary repair and maintenance facility for the Orange Line, is located adjacent to the station. The 125,000 square feet (11,600 m2) building can hold three-and-a-half six-car trains.

General Electric Everett Plant, formerly known as Air Force Plant 28, was a plant operated by General Electric from 1941 into the 1980s in Everett, Massachusetts. It was situated along the Malden River on a 43-acre tract, covering 344,342 square feet. The facility, before it was demolished, was the location of ten smaller buildings and one large manufacturing facility. At the time, it was also home to machining, metal stamping, welding, grinding, cleaning and parts testing. Previously, the plant also was home to metal plating. The plant was closed after General Electric decided to consolidate manufacturing at other plants across the country, including to that in nearby Lynn, where parts from Everett were assembled into engines.

Island End River is a short tributary of the Mystic River in Massachusetts. It is notable for its environmental history, which consisted of steady and severe pollution from the 19th century to the 1950s, with concerted cleanup efforts beginning in the early 21st century. The river was polluted originally through the direct release of wastewater from a coal tar processing plant located along it, resulting in the buildup of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons on the river bottom. It was partly dredged in 2007, but its sediments remained heavily contaminated. Its water quality also remained extremely poor, but, as the result of sewage control efforts by the cities of Chelsea and Everett, substantially improved by 2019. Much of the river runs through a culvert, which is in poor condition; the city of Everett began restoring parts of it to the surface in 2021.Because of the concentration of PAHs in its sediments, Island End River has served as a useful site for scientific studies of microbial biodegradation.

Assembly station (originally Assembly Square in some planning documents) is a rapid transit station in Somerville, Massachusetts. It serves the MBTA's Orange Line. It is an infill station, located on a section of the Orange Line that has been active since 1975. The station, which opened on September 2, 2014, was the first new station on the MBTA subway system since 1987.Assembly station is meant to provide convenient access to Assembly Square - a major retail and residential development located on the site of a former Ford assembly plant - and the adjacent Assembly Square Marketplace.

Everett is a city in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States, directly north of Boston, bordering the neighborhood of Charlestown. The population was 49,075 at the time of the 2020 United States Census.Everett was the last city in the United States to have a bicameral legislature, which was composed of a seven-member Board of Aldermen and an eighteen-member Common Council. On November 8, 2011, the voters approved a new City Charter that changed the City Council to a unicameral body with eleven members – six ward councilors and five councilors-at-large. The new City Council was elected during the 2013 City Election.
